If I could give nil I would
If I could give nil I would, trying to change a flight to the day before, 3rd time of trying I got a lady who knew what she was doing, she was arranging the change when the line dropped! I called back but the person I spoke to said they couldn't find the flight and continued to tell me this is the only flight, I asked why the previous person found it and they said, you will have to look on line, so I went on the chat and asked if they could put me through to the person who helped me, they couldn't but said if the call drops they will try calling me back 2 times (they didn't) then add a note on the account, they did add the note but still no-one could help. I've flown with Aer Lingus a few times but haven't needed to make any change. I tell everyone what a great airline but after this I wouldn't!
Absolutely atrocious
Absolutely atrocious. Never again will I fly with this at best substandard airline. The flight was late by 2 hours for my connecting flight which was by them also. Almost 2 days before I can get another flight home and even then yo a different airport that my car is at.
Put up in a hotel with food I would give my dog.
I will never ever use this airline again
Extremely poor handling of a cancelled flight – unacceptable customer service
Extremely poor handling of a cancelled flight – unacceptable customer service
Our Aer Lingus flight EI0120 from Orlando to Dublin was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. While we fully understand that weather is outside an airline’s control, what we found completely unacceptable was the way Aer Lingus dealt with its passengers afterwards.
There were approximately 300 passengers affected, yet we were told that Aer Lingus only had around 100 hotel rooms available. This meant that they simply could not accommodate everyone. After an already stressful cancellation, passengers were left trying to find their own accommodation in Orlando.
We had to arrange and pay for an additional 2 nights at the Hyatt ourselves, while at the same time losing our prepaid hotel reservation in Dublin. Instead of being looked after and properly informed, we were left dealing with the financial and practical consequences ourselves.
Communication throughout the disruption was extremely poor. There was no clear information about what was happening, when we would be rebooked or what passengers were expected to do. We eventually had to wait two days for our next flight.
We also had onward travel arrangements to deal with, which added another layer of stress. Trying to get assistance from Aer Lingus customer service was incredibly frustrating at a time when passengers needed the airline’s support most.
The issue here is not that bad weather caused a cancellation. Passengers understand that airlines cannot control the weather. The issue is how Aer Lingus responded once the cancellation happened.
If an airline is carrying around 300 passengers, it should have an adequate contingency plan for a major disruption. Having accommodation available for only around a third of the affected passengers and leaving everyone else to fend for themselves is simply not good enough.
What should have been the end of our holiday became two extremely stressful days of uncertainty, additional expense and poor communication.
We have travelled extensively and understand that cancellations happen. What determines whether we would use an airline again is how they look after their passengers when things go wrong. Unfortunately, based on this experience and the extremely poor customer service we received, we would seriously reconsider travelling with Aer Lingus again.
Cancelled our flight from MCO to DUB…
Cancelled our flight from MCO to DUB and told to come back the next day at 1pm to check in for a 4pm replacement.
The replacement was never arranged and nobody from Aer Lingus was in the airport to provide information. They didn't communicate via email, SMS or phone calls.
Instead, we were told to go away for another day and then come back for a flight without any information again.
Save yourself the hassle, travel with anybody but this airline. Unprofessional and cruel doesn't quite cover how bad these people are. The customer service and staff from top to bottom are truly terrible.
The most difficult airline in the…
The most difficult airline in the world. Frustrating to deal with, hard to get your boarding pass digitally, and no flexibility. I missed my flight due to a delay with a partner airline, despite having flights available they made every wait until the next day. Avoid this airline, book Ryanair if possible instead.
Avoid at all cost!
If I could give them a negative 100 that would be a kindness. I recently tried to book flights and despite being given booking references on each attempt, was told I needed to contact Aer Lingus to confirm the booking. I was told by the customer service agent that the first booking could not be completed due to an issue with the app. She informed me to use the online booking system instead. The same thing happened when booking online. However, when I contacted Aer Lingus the customer services agent told me I needed to contact their partner airline due to an issue with a connecting flight. This is something I have never had to do but I did it, despite being skeptical. I was told by the partner airline the issue was with Aer Lingus. At this stage I didn’t know who to trust so I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told a supervisor was not available and that my issue would be escalated. I was also told to use the online complaint form to highlight my issues. The supervisor refused to speak to me despite waiting for several days and the response to my complaint was to use the app to book my flight. Completely ignoring the issues I raised with both the app and the online booking system. It is clear to me that Aer Lingus no longer cares about long standing loyal customers who previous to this experience would have rated them highly. This is the most shockingly bad customer services experience I have ever had and has been so stressful and frustrating.
Seriously the one star is generous!!
Seriously the one star is generous!!
Long haul flight back from America with connection flight back to Birmingham via Dublin.
Aircraft is too small not comfortable, same as going to Europe.
Our flight was delayed by 4 hours from Newark, but had already boarded the flight. When finally in the air, the crew announced no food in the plane because of the delay! So went over ten hours without food which we were expecting and had no food in us.
My husband is diabetic and needs to eat on a regular basis.
Our connecting flight was an even smaller aircraft so the seats we paid for were not available either.
We have complained to customer services twice for a partial refund but it was refused.
Just an apology.
Definitely would never use this airline again even if I had a free ticket!!!!

Terrible flight and staff and airport hotel service terrible too
Terrible flight and staff , we came today to the airport from 4:30 and now it’s 1:32 am , flight delayed 2 times from 8:30 til 9 pm then 9:30 then nothing just we waiting watching the screens no one give us any information then they sent email we may know at 10:15 and 10:15 passed then at 10:44 sent us emails flight is cancelled and they tortured us till we have our luggages as it came only 4 bags and it stopped , then I frustrated and we went to ask them as they closed the luggages place , they don’t know where are our bags place 😱 till we complained and annoyed them they released them , and till now we waiting us to give us rooms and we don’t know when , there are young kids with us too , I am wondering is this the UK airport in Birmingham and this is a big company aer Lingus ?! Even in the third world is better than this .

Was going to write review of the awful experience and terrible knock on effects of them cancelling my flight after me waiting 5hrs in the airport with my daughter... but what's the point, they clearly aren't bothered about these reviews or how much they screw over their customers.
Just avoid them.
Poor first time experience flying on a plane.
Booked my first holiday abroad to New York flying from Glasgow to Dublin. Going through us pre clearance then Dublin to JFK. Sitting at Glasgow airport waiting to go on my first plane flight it got delayed by 40 mins. We arrived in Dublin and got showed to customs and then us immigration. While standing there we looked at the board and saw a final call for our flight. So cause of the first delay it caused a domino effect the whole day. We had to run to the gate and I manged to get us on a later flight. , 5 hours later that day. We eventually landed in JfK at 9.15 pm. Again because of the delay from the word go. Our shuttle bus wasn’t there and didn’t have any drivers to pick us up. I got a yellow cab for an hour journey to our hotel at a cost to ourselves. So instead of been in New York at 2pm we didn’t get to hotel until after 10 pm. When back I’ve reached out to aer Lingus and explained about my first home
Abroad. My partners health issues and while they agreed it was far from acceptable experience they offered nothing. So after a second email sent to them it’s now sent to some emerald team to look over and I don’t hold much hope. Very poor experience from this company unfortunately first impressions last. Think next time will choose a different airline and just go through us immigration when I land in New York. Terrible customer care.
Lost my free flight reward as I forgot…
Lost my free flight reward as I forgot to pay taxes and charges within 3 days. The bank of Ireland / aer credit card is a nonsense..they make it extremely hard to book free flights in the first place then this.
You would think of probationary flights would just be canceled and the reward for booking a free flight would still be available but no. Not even a bloody reminder sent out to pay taxes or lose the benefit.
I flew Business class on Aer Lingus…
I flew Business class on Aer Lingus flight EL69 on June 2026. I inadvertently lest a Faconeri garment bag in the Business Class closet when I disembarked. The carrier contained a newly purchased suit and shirt valued at about $2900. I immediately contacted Aer Lingus and reported the item. I subsequently made multiple calls and submitted a formal complaint. I was repeatedly told that the LAX team would investigate. I also contacted LAX directly and was told that items left onboard of the plane are the responsibility of the airline, not LAX Lost and Found.
After numerous communications, Aer Lingus ultimately acknowledge in writing that they cannot confirm whether my garment carrier was ever recovered, who took custody of it, or whether it was transferred to LAX.
Despite being unable to account for my property, Aer Lingus repeatedly directed me to LAX.
Im not upset simply because an item was lost. I'm disappointed because no one at the airline has been willing or able to determine what happened to it. I expected considerably better customer service and accountability. Unfortunately, the matter remains unresolved.
Awful awful staff at Edinburgh Airport…
Awful awful staff at Edinburgh Airport check in. Really unpleasant and confrontational. Two girls working there 26/08/2026 really made me feel uncomfortable. Will fly with any other airline in future.
I was shocked when I attempted to check…
I was shocked when I attempted to check in online for a flight from Perpignan to Dublin to find there was no check in option. This was 4 hour and 35 minutes prior to my flight time of 16 30hrs. On further research I discovered this is not unusual for Aer Lingus. This resulted in anxiety and panic and rushing to the airport to check in. Ryanair flies from Lyon to Dublin, online check in up to 2 hours before flight departure time.
Aer Lingus on line check in closes 4.5 hours before flight.
Its very confusing Why the difference?
no refunds
this airline charges more for changes and doesnt give you back any refunds if you need to cancle because life fucken happens. never flying with them ever.
Aer Lingus gave me advice, I followed it, and they refuse to take responsibility
I accept that the original booking error was mine. My complaint with Aer Lingus is about what happened AFTER that mistake.
I contacted Aer Lingus directly while desperately trying to resolve the situation. On multiple occasions I was given advice and assurances by their representatives about what could be done.
Most importantly, I was specifically advised to arrive at the airport early with my intended travelling companion because I was told Aer Lingus would be able to resolve the issue there.
I relied on that advice.
I arrived early, with my travelling companion, only to discover at the airport that what I had been told could not actually be done.
By that point my options were completely different. Had Aer Lingus correctly told me beforehand that nothing could be done at the airport, I could have made the decision to travel alone. Instead, having followed their advice and brought my travelling companion to the airport, I ended up purchasing a last-minute replacement ticket at a cost of £1,230.58.
I subsequently complained to Aer Lingus and eventually escalated the matter to the office of their Chief Customer Officer.
Crucially, Aer Lingus confirmed that they LISTENED TO THE RECORDED CALLS.
Yet their response continues to focus on the fact that the original booking was made through a travel agent.
That completely misses my complaint.
I am not asking Aer Lingus to take responsibility for my original booking mistake or for the travel agent's actions.
I am asking them to take responsibility for the consequences of advice subsequently given to me by THEIR representatives, which I relied upon when deciding what to do.
Their response has effectively been to apologise, refuse any meaningful financial responsibility and declare the matter closed.
For me, that raises a very worrying question:
If a customer cannot rely on advice given directly by an airline's own representatives, who exactly are they supposed to rely on?
Mistakes happen. I made one and have accepted responsibility for it from the beginning.
I simply expected Aer Lingus to show the same level of accountability for theirs.
Unfortunately, despite exhausting their complaints process and escalating this to senior management, they have chosen not to do so.
Extremely disappointing customer service and an even more disappointing approach to accountability.
Ground staff amazing but woeful…
Ground staff amazing but woeful customer service. I made a genuine mistake adding two hold bags ( can’t confirm it was entirely my fault but went back on page and when returned two bags were added and only needed one) Phones straight away and was told it wasn’t a problem and would be sorted. A week before travel, I received and email apology for the long timeframe and a refusal to refund. I had ask the customer rep that I would be happy with a credit as I fly frequently to which he said that a refund would be actioned. I called customer services again to be told that the information given was a mistake, so the company can make a mistake but the customer can’t! It was clear to see it was a mistake as I had to do two booking as hubby and I were returning on different dates and he had no return bag on the booking. As customers we get totally shafted with airlines but I always felt Aer Lingus was better…not so sure after this experience.
This is a terrible airline
This is a terrible airline. I booked a flight for a friend. He had his boarding pass, but when he arrived at the airport, they couldn't find it in their system. I tried to call customer but there was no answer. He ultimately missed his flight and now I am disputing the ticket, since he was never allowed to use it. The airline is contesting my claim. Apparently this happens a lot to others, so you are forced to buy another ticket. Poor customer service. Use another airline.
