Fabricated reviews now being posted by company to artificially boost poor rating

Oh dear. It appears that Compare Cargo Rates Ltd (aka "Yes2Ship Ltd", "Customs Clearances", and "Dispatch Wizard") has now begun resorting to posting fabricated reviews on the Trustpilot website to artificially enhance their review rating.

The reviews by Josalyn, T.M.Hasibur Rahman, Malena Carey and Rahul Joshi are clearly written by the same person. They share very similar contents, with identical wording in places, have all been written within a few days of each other, and have presumably been written by an employee of the company to raise their review score and to try to prevent readers from seeing the many negative reviews regarding their (terrible) service. See the many negative reviews for CompareCargoRates Limited (which is the same company) if you need convincing of this.

Use this company at your own risk.

My Advice: Avoid stress Avoid this company

I can not recommend this company to any one. Had a nasty experience with them. The worst experience I have ever had from a service provider. You are given a cheap quotation for your shipment at pick up and then this doubles ( believe it or not you will regret not going by the other quotation you were given by someone else) when it gets to the destination because they know your items are in their custody and they demand more money before they release it. You just read the other reviews,I wish I had found this website before I used their service. Avoid stress and try another company!

Will never use again, I got ripped off by their outrageous end fees (UK--> Australia)

Firstly I was told the shipping would take 36 days. It ended up taking 60 days. No apologies to me, or attempt at reimbursement. The customer service was initially fine, but then when they have any issues/complaints to deal with, they put this surly woman called "Sharon" to answer the emails who was completely unsympathetic and completely unapologetic. Long and short of it was, I was moving home from the U.K and after having gotten rid of most of my stuff over there, I had 10 x (50cm x 50cm) tea crate boxes of personal effects (mostly clothes and shoes) to send back over. I thought the initial fee of 280 pounds was not too bad a quote. Problem is, they don't warn you (or give u any indication of how much), the port fees and other crazy "import" fees are going to be at the end of the process when you go to collect your goods! They used a partner company called Integrity Logisitics Warehouse in Australia to bill me all my "collection fees" and this company were just the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life, and the most horrendous, rip off fees without ever showing an ounce of transparency of how they calculated it, or any shed of remorse for billing me in excess of $2,000 to collect my several boxes of personal effects, plus nearly $400 in "storage costs" which included time that the boxes were being processed in customs (yes - u did hear correct!). That disgraceful company actually lied to me and said I needed more pieces of I.D to collect my items from quarantine and customs, and hence forced me to pay an outrageously exorbitant fee (over $1,000) to collect if for me. Yes, because filling out a couple of pieces of paperwork and waiting half an hour is really worth that isn't it!??? The same company delayed my stuff by filling out paperwork incorrectly. The whole thing was an outrageously costly mess, in which the cost to ship my boxes ended up being more than the contents themselves! (280 pounds initial fee + $2,000 charged by ILW, plus $400 in expensive and downright ludicrous "storage fees". Yes, I do hold cargo courier rates responsible for this too, as they chose to partner up with the really horrible and expensive company (ILW - Integrity Logistics Warehouse), and they also chose to neglect telling me what my overall cost was likely to be (which turned out to be absolutely horrendous and distressing, to be frank). I would recommend a company like seven seas who ensure that all the costs you incur are either included, or completely transparent. Do not let the companies out there who rely on "non disclosure", bank on your naivety.

Shockingly bad service!

Firstly, do not trust their online quote. The prices increased dramatically after they had our belongings. They claimed that it was ten kilos more than it actually was (we weighed the shipment ourselves and had the report from customs to prove this). They also charged us for repackaging the two boxes which was completely unnecessary.
Secondly, it took two weeks after they collected our shipment of two boxes before it had even left the U.K. We paid for airfreight as we needed our belongings quickly, but it took three weeks for them to arrive in Cambodia, not the 3-5 days it should have taken.
Then finally, after contacting them by phone and e-mail, ten days on, we are yet to receive a reply as to why their service is so shockingly bad.

Stay clear of this company! They offer cheap online quotes but are unable to back this up with decent service. Cheap and cheerful it definitely is not.

Dear Mr Beasant.

We are sorry that you feel we have not performed as requested.

However there are a number of points that you have left out from your negative review.

1. The shipment was inadequately packed from transport, i.e. it was in very light weight plastic cartons ( very much like laundry baskets with lids ) which you had clearly tried to get too much weight into a single box. So we repacked them for you free of charge to spread the weight across the two cartons and then covered in shrink wrap & tape. This however caused a delay whilst we sort your permission to do so.

2. Your description listed "Diving Equipment". This caused a delay as the airline needed to have confirmation that this was not gas tanks which are very hazardous. Yes, as it turned out it was only goggles etc, but an airline will always have the right not to fly a shipment if there are any safety concerns.

3. Delays in Cambodian Customs. Very much out of everyones control and as you are aware the consignee was a "Non Cambodian National" so Customs did need to check the residency status prior to releasing the goods for delivery.

4. Regarding the price charged. It was billed as per the quotation given and I cannot see any reason for this claim. I am sure you would of not paid us if it was wrong, it was not taken from a credit card, you actually paid it directly to our bank ?

My last comment is that it is in everyones interest to deliver items with great speed, but I think you will agree that you would rather have your items all safe and not broken and without our "free of charge" remedial action we would of been having to deal with your claim for lost or damaged items.

Kind regards Ian W

the answer i got for my complain was" its not our fault that you chose us" !!!!

Unfortunately I used your company to deliver a suit case from Glasgow to Bahrain .
I paid 118 pounds and then I was shocked by having to pay an additional charge in Bahrain airport which was 50 pounds ,and when I called your company back the answer was rudly said “it’s not our fault that you assumed things wrong” and when I said I regret dealing with your company he said “it’s not our fault that you chose us” I don’t think this is an appropriate way to deal with customers.
If there is an additional charge I should have been informed because when you mention that you are not responsible for the charges in the destination I assume its like 10-15 pounds not 50!! And the answer I get when calling is “it’s not our fault that you chose us “
Its would’ve been so much easier and cheaper to send it door to door with 170 pounds not door to airport !!
Everything wasn’t right from the beginning .I was supposed to be booked for the collection of the bag and I sent a request, I didn’t receive any reply until the next day where I emailed one of your employees back saying that I didn’t receive anything from her .she said she was waiting for my email and then few minutes later she emailed me saying that she saw my email but forgot to contact me yesterday and the collection will be today (the same day she replied me ).I kept on waiting until 5 and nobody showed up. When I called your company they said a man came knocked the door and nobody responded!!!!
I was again booked for the next day and finally a man showed up with no information about anything ,I asked him about the name of your company to make sure he was the right man ,he kept on looking in his hand device and finally he mentioned the website not the name of your company .
And this is not the end of the mistakes !! I wasn’t informed for the arrival of my luggage to the destination in London until I emailed her back asking her to inform me about it ,then she replied that it was already there .
Honestly I regret dealing with you and I won’t certainly deal with you or recommend you to anyone .i called your office and the phone call didn’t include a polite apology, he did apologize but rudely.
I don’t know if you care how your costumers feel after dealing with you but apparently you don’t after the bad experience with the services and the inappropriate apology.

complain? No response!!!!!

I booked a door to door delivery of 3 boxes weighing approximately 30kgs in total for my daughter in Canada. I chose your company as I had compared prices and reviews and was impressed by both.

I completed the supplied customs forms - inventory - and provided a copy of my daughter's passport as requested.

This booking was accepted by yourselves and payment was made.

The boxes were new double skin cardboard boxes from Staples. Each item was double wrapped in bubble wrap with the exception of a blanket and cushion for obvious reasons. Each box was then sealed with parcel tape on each seam with several layers of tape.

The first indication of problems was a phone call from my daughter in Canada to say she had been contacted by FedEx who informed her that her boxes were being held by customs at Edmonton Airport and she would have to clear the boxes through customs. My daughter asked FedEx to email through the forms to be completed which they duly did.

I assured her that having looked carefully at the options available for delivery on your website that her parcels would be delivered to her door. She lives some 5 hours drive from Edmonton.

Several phone calls were made to your company to try and resolve the issue - all at my instigation and cost. Not once having said I would be called back did this happen.

Whist efforts were made by yourselves via FedEx London office to resolve the issue it became clear that FedEx Canada were unable to agree with your interpretation

My daughter was told by FedEx in British Columbia that her boxes would be cleared if they went to Calgary - but she would have to arrange this with another (unnamed) office!!!!!

The 'law' being quoted seemed to be an Alberta law but only applied to one major airport?????

As no resolution was forthcoming - my daughter arranged to drive to Edmonton at great inconvenience last Friday 8th November 2013. Her partner had to take a day off work unpaid to accompany her on the 5 hour drive.

They had to book into a hotel overnight as the weather was atrocious - at considerable cost. a copy of her invoice is attached. This cost almost 188 dollars

To add insult to injury my daughter was treated like some kind of criminal at Edmonton Airport - an issue she is taking up with Canadian Customs.

Having collected the boxes she was distraught at the condition in which they arrived. I have photographic evidence of this.

Several items were broken or smashed to bits - one a money bank which had been a treasured gift from her grandmother was smashed beyond recognition. Again I have photographic evidence.

My husband who has couriered goods throughout Europe for 40 years is of the clear opinion that all 3 boxes have been dropped several times or thrown from height.

You blamed FedEx. FedEx blamed customs. Customs blamed FedEx.

However my contract was with your company.

I trusted your company to carry out the contract I had with you professionally My experience has been anything but. Amateurish beyond comment. There is NO reference to the type of experience my daughter and I have had through using your company on your website. No indication of issues with customs that may arise. You accepted the paperwork unquestioningly. No explanation was asked of myself.

I look forward to your response to the above issues. I reserve the right to take this issue further should it be necessary.

Dear Mrs Kennedy.
Thank you for at last putting your complaint in writing.
As as explained to you multiple times, simply ringing our office with random and unnecessary verbal abuse would get you absolutely no where. Telling my receptionist he's "sh*t", as you have discovered also gets the phone hung up on you.
Ok, getting to the matter in hand.
Canadian Customs have every right to open and inspect any packages entering Canada and I think your daughters aggresive attitude towards their very straight forward request for additional information aggrieved the Officer to such an extent that he "threw the book at her" and has dug his heals in and made sure a thorough inspection was undertaken.
Regarding your complaint against FedEx and Canadian Customs. All I can say is "good luck" and if you wish to pursue this nonsense we as a company will be happy to defend our position in court if you wish to waste everybody's time any further.
Regards Ian W

Do not trust the cheap online quotes; Prices will significantly increase after they have your stuff

Used comparecargorates.com to send my personal effects to Bahrain. Appeared very friendly till they had picked up my luggage.
First, i was asked to pay £75 advance for the boxes they provided (advertised as free on their website), which was to be taken out of final amount; fair enough, i gave this and boxes arrived on time.
Once their driver took my stuff, it was bulk packed free of cost using shrink wrap and on pallets (as a favour to me) without my consent, and i was told that the volume has increased from 3.7 to 5m3 due to this packing so now i should pay in excess of £630, when their online quotation using accurate assessment was about £350 + £50 (insurance) = £400 in total. I even had their system generated online quote of about £500 (inc. Insurance) for just under 6m3 volume. After wasting time on emails, and many many phone calls to reach their manager, i was favoured again by offering a discount on billed price and their manager reduced the bill to £525 and since i paid £75 earlier so the manager confirmed that i need to pay a balance of £450, which is still significantly higher than their system generated accurate quotations.
Not happy with this but i was in Bahrain by then and had no option and decided to pay. Then i received the invoice of £525 from the person handling the case and not £450 as mentioned by their manager, and was asked to pay immediately otherwise the discount will be taken away. I paid in protest to avoid further delays to my stuff and asked them to explain this but since then neither the person handling the case, nor their manager have responded to my many emails on this.

I have even sent them a recording of their managers message to me confirming the payment of £450 yet they keep ignoring my emails. I even asked them on their online chat system to tell me the formal complaint method but as soon as i asked this question, no replies..

This is the most poor service i have ever seen so avoid at all costs if you can..

Dear Muhammad.

I have read your email with regret and would like to respond one point at a time :

1. You were asked for a small deposit for the boxes ( as you wanted 50+ of them ) but did not have any idea of your shipping date and frankly at £2.50 cost to us per box we simply cannot give them away at this quantity to someone who just walks in off the street.

2. You had much more cargo to ship than you expected and hence this is why the charge was more. Its really very simple. The bigger the shipment the more it costs. The correct weight and dims were clearly shown on the "Ships Bills of Lading" this is a legal document issued by the Line and cannot be altered in any way by us. You confirmed you had read this and agreed it was correct at the time.

3. Yes, we did give you a huge discount, just to keep you happy, but this discount took into account the payments you had already made. I personally explained this to you at the time.

In summary. I have again checked the file. The extra discount we offered you in goodwill was given and you have been charged correctly. This whole matter is about £75, even when we gave you a huge discount and you were very happy at the time and was aware the bill was correct ?

Regards Ian West.

My goods to Cape Town

Very poor service. I wanted to send a box of 18kg to Cape Town - the quote was £135. The box was collected on a Monday, and repacked into one of their boxes, I was finally told on the Thursday that the box weighed 18.9 kgs and the quote was now £210. I paid £35 to get the box returned to me. The whole thing was just a comedy of errors. Worst of all was their cavalier, take it or leave it attitude. Many quotes were similar, I went to these guys as they looked quite upbeat - they has emailed me after I browsed their site

If you are going to use this company as a small time user, make sure you read all the small print and quotation specifics. I won't be using them again.

Hello Pat.
As you are aware you booked 18kg of mixed personal effects which we collected on Monday. When we collected your shipment, you had actually "overpacked" into a large "Walkers Crisps" box, the type of box that stores have multiple bags of crisps delivered to them in prior to them stacking on the shelves. These boxes are made up of very thin cardboard and in this case had already started to split. It is 5979 miles from London to Cape Town... thats a long way for an overpacked crisp box to travel :)
With your agreement we re-packed it "FOR FREE" into a fresh box. Our boxes are "twin-wall" cardboard with dimensions of 50x50x50cm and even though your declared weight is 18kg, the original box was so overfilled that you needed to pay for 25kg of space.
In common with DHL, UPS, Fedex etc you pay on either weight or the space you take up. On the front of our website in "very large letters" not the small print you refer to we have a button marked "about volume" that leads you to a whole page on this subject, with the last line asking you to call us if in doubt.
To sum it up.
I am the chap that actually got in his own private car last night ( through the rush traffic to your home ), carried it up three flights of stairs to your front door, and even declined your help to carry the box. ( being an old fashioned sort of chap, it was too bulky & heavy to just let you struggle with it ) I even called you on your mobile when I got stuck in the traffic trying to find you.
Sorry to go on, but a bad review is one thing, other readers need to have the whole story.. so I hope what was written by you is not taken on face value.
Kind regards and have a safe trip. Ian West. General Manager.
