Don’t use this lot. Had to cancel, no refund even with a months notice. So, now I’ll never use them again and I’ll tell others not to use them, an excellent example of how to upset your customer base and all for £100. What would you do that to yourself, makes no sense to me.
£30 million acquisition of a once much…
£30 million acquisition of a once much used IT supply company now almost run into the ground it appears. BT share holders must be turning in their stiff suits.
Just like EE and their main services it's another one where the shareholder and executives come first and the customer somewhere way behind.
I haven’t used dabs for some time, but it is now terrible
I haven’t used dabs for some time, but it's now terrible - what's happened? You used to be able to buy individual components to build a computer. Instead the site now provides the normal bland stuff I might find at a highstreet Currys PC world. No doubt the accounting goons at BT didn’t think providing a service and something called consumer choice was profitable enough. So now I have no option, but to look for an alternative I guess.
Not my favourite
Products and prices are decent but I had a nightmare with customer services.
DABS cancelled my order without telling me, so after more than a week I got contact to ask what was happening when they told me they cancelled my order due to stock problems. Ok, that's fine, maybe update listings but that happens, what annoyed me was that they didn't tell me.
So I asked if they could just remove the problem item and send the rest of the order but they refused. Instead they told me that I had to completely re-do the order (it was a big order). So I did that and had to wait about another week for delivery, so because of DABS completing my build was delayed twice.
Now, none of that is too bad. Irritating, yes, but not bad. What is bad is that customer service we're confrontational from the moment they answered the phone. I said "hello" and they asked how they could help but in such a tone that I no longer wanted to talk to them. I think I deserved an apology but none was forthcoming, instead they implied that all the problems we're somehow my fault. All I did was order something from their website.
Anyway, suffice to say that I have never used DABS again. I much prefer CCL Computers, who to date have always been brilliant and really helpful.
All round quality service
Had a few payment with my issues which were quickly resolved by the helpful people on the other end of the phone.
Can't get a reply for Dabs form submission
I have contacted Dabs on a couple of occasions via the my order page on their website however I am yet to receive a reply or even a confirmation , I feel they may be stalling as I am requesting that I exercise my statutory rights.

Beware. Sold second hand hard drive as new!
I'm now over 8 months into "discussions" with DABS, and they have stopped responding to my emails. Each time I call them I have to start from the beginning of the issue as they have lost the notes.
I bought a Western Digital Black hard drive with 5 year warranty. I purchased this because of the long warranty period as it was my main work drive (I'm self employed).
The drive stopped working in October 2015, and I still had a year left on the warranty. I contacted Western Digital direct with the serial number and explained the issue.
The response was this...
"Thank you for your patience so far. I have just received a word from the concerned department. After extended investigation on this drive, we found out that the company who sold you this drive actually replaced it through us before sending it to you and during RMA orders we give away refurbished or recertified drives. Then after they received the replacement drive they sold it to you, that is why it shows on the system as refurbished. The original drive they sent to us had its warranty started in 2010 and ended in 2015 thus it was passed on to the replacement drive as well so in conclusion the warranty on the drive is correct and it is now out of warranty unfortunately."
So the hard drive I had been sold as NEW was in fact a REPLACEMENT drive for someone else, and had been registered BEFORE I had purchased it.
Each time I contact them, they say that the purchase is on the old system and that they will contact me. The last time they contacted me (April 2016) they said that they couldn't do anything as it was too late.
This is appauling service, and I believe I have been mis-sold what is technically second-hand drive as new.
DABS is now owned by BT, but I have had the same runaround from them.

Dabs outlet look after your customers please!
I bought a laptop off them in July 15 which now has a fried motherboard so I asked them to honour the guarantee they replied go to HP and get a fault code but check on the guarantee first. Logged in to HP only to find out of guarantee as they bought the laptop in March 2015. Well if this firm thinks im taking this lying down they've another thing coming cos just because they have sold out to BT they still have responsibilities to their past customers so either fix it or see you in court buddies!!

Decided to call BT help line, to spend time hanging in the cue and to be cut off by BT operator when on the question Am I a BT customer i have answered that i am not. Odrer number is SO05137563. Dabs.com come out and help me. That laptop were not a cheap thing. I believe that i and others deserve better treatment. Thank you.

Faulty product, good luck getting help off Dabs.com (Updated info 18-5-16)
This company is owned by BT. If your product breaks they DO NOT handle repairs. They fob you off and tell you to contact the manufacturer. If my experience is anything to go by you`re for an absolute nightmare. This is the most helpful Dabs.com customer services gets.

to me
Hello,
Thank you for your email.
I am really very sorry to hear of the issue with your product.
We have a process in place with our colleagues at Asus please contact them in the first instance as often the issue is something that can be resolved with technical assistance. Please contact the manufacturer on the below;
01442 265548
If the item is deemed faulty, you will be provided with a fault reference number and asked to return the goods to the manufacturer for inspection, they will either fix or replace your goods under the terms of the warranty.
If you decide that you would prefer to have a refund, please email us once you have the fault number and we will arrange for the goods to be inspected at our warehouse and process a refund within 7 working days of the goods arriving at our warehouse.
Best wishes,
Amanda
Asus are just as bad.
Update - 18-5-16
I got a unexpected email from Dabs.com and I`ve now finally got a RMA authorization. I replied to an email from Amanda at Dabs.com (BT Shop) who gave me an email address for Asus. I`ve already contacted Asus who said contact the retailer and so on. So after sending a copy to Dabs, again, I`ve been issued a RMA authorization.
Finally a step in the right direction. Persistence pays off, even though it shouldn`t be required when a fault occurs.

Dabs are good...
I have ordered from Dabs many times over the years and have never really had a problem with their service. The only issue I can mention is that they sometimes say they have products in stock when they don't, and then you have to wait for them to get the product from their supplier. This can be a problem when you might be ordering to meet a deadline, for example for a cashback offer. Also, with their volume of sales they really should have a free delivery option. My experience with Dabs overall is positive but could be better. 4/5*
Lap Top - broke after a week
Laptop broke after a week, no customer service from Dabs. Disgusted.
Order No SO05485168
Dabs offered no support and directed me to Dell. We had extreme difficulty making our selves understood by their Indian call centre until we asked for a refund. By that time the touch pad had stopped working after a week and after 3 weeks the battery was not detected, and failing to charge.
Dell then refused the refund saying 3 things needed to be repaired prior to a refund being considered. Dell wanted to talk through and try to fix the problem but only work 9-5 - so no good if you work for a living. Eventually the problems fixed themselves - I can only believe that some software update took effect - after 4 weeks.

Smartphone
ordered a new smartphone as mine had packed up. Quick delivery soon got my communications back to normal.
Have been using Dabs for many years and have always had great service.
On this occasion the ordering system had items being allocated for 2 days, then shipped, where the items were shown as being in stock and available for next day delivery. Delivery was a day after stock allocation, bit the 2 day wait was frustrating.
On time - good price
Having done a little scan of a few places and a few products, reasonably good prices all round and reliable in the past. Fine again.
Not keen on new BTShop
Dabs.com was a great website and everything was nice and easy to find and see. Feel the new BT shop doesn't come close to dabs, service is very much the same which is good but offers and bits like what dabs had are harder to find.
