Beware sudden added costs due to UK company no longer there
The shirts are great, I have bought several in the past. What is not apparent is that their UK entity no longer exists so you are buying from an Italian company. So when imported into the UK the VAT, shipping and brokerage for 3 shirts averaging £120 each totalled £166!! At this price this is not at all good value, I won't be coming back.
Beware VAT at 20% on importation
The shirts are fine if expensive; what is not clear is that you will be charged another 20% VAT on importation plus a handling fee by the courier. I believe this should be made very clear by the company before you get an unpleasant surprise
Amazing product, terrible delivery experience
The quality of the product (sizing, range of fabrics, execution) is very good. But for a company that wants to meet international customers' expectations using DHL courier is a must. UPS (their standard option) is just a nightmare. I have made it clear it to the customer service but they said they can't ship via DHL at the moment. Very sad to hear this.
The price quoted is less than you will be charged
This company was taken over by an Italian firm at the end of 2025. I purchased a shirt from them in March 2026 at a quoted price of £148.71. Just before delivery I was told that I had to pay an additional £64.19 for "taxes, duty and fees". This was a price hike of more than 40%. Pay up or don't get the shirt!
Apposta, for their part, said it was nothing to do with them. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. You won't find out the price until you can't change your mind
EXCELLENT

DO NOT ORDER IF IN UNITED STATES!!
DO NOT ORDER IF IN UNITED STATES!!! Tariff is over $60 per shirt and they don’t tell you that on their website!!!
Caveat emptor for UK customers
Similar to David's comment below, my long-term experience has been really good and really love their shirts and website. However, my recent experience with apposta has been dissapointing. As a UK customer, I was charged more than 30% customs duties to collect my shirt and I am not sure if that included a handling fee. This does not make the shirts price competitive and essentially damages trust in the brand. The company needs to make it very clear on the website what UK customers should expect to pay in customs charges. Please work better with UPS, identify the % custom charges and list these on the website.
Slow service and hidden fees
Measurements were not ideal, shirt took weeks longer than advertised then got hit with hidden fees at the border.
Distribution changes impact UK cost
In the UK the recent changes in the way Apposta distribute mean an extra c30% excise duty has to be paid when UPS deliver. This wasn’t the case up until this year and isn’t made clear when purchasing.
Such a shame.. I’ve used them for 10 years/50 shirts and the quality is great.. but an extra 30% makes it unviable when there are other options springing up. Shot themselves in the foot as far as the UK is concerned
Nicely excuted shirts
Nicely excuted shirts, I'm satisfied vy the final results. Fabric I ordered soft and cosy. Most important before you order - to have correct measurements for shirts.
Perfect
The order was delivered on time and the quality of craftsmanship is excellent. The materials, stitching, and overall finishing are of a very high standard. Customer service was outstanding – responsive, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process. The shirt was re-sent to achieve a better fit, which was solely due to this being my first order and differences in cut compared to the shirts I usually wear. The entire experience was smooth and highly professional. I would definitely recommend

The shirt was designed online and the result exceeded my expectations in quality and colour. True Italian design and style.
Not sure what has happened to Apposta.
Not sure what has happened to Apposta.
I’ve been waiting for months & month for them to restock materials with several email replies stating the said materials will be restocked within a few weeks.
I recently received an email to say they’d been bought out by another company who they always used to manufacture their shirts even though I was led to believe they originally made everything in house.
Other reviews state they have gone bankrupt.
Good with room for improvement
Despite the missed shipping date, my shirt arrived safe and sound with no problems. I will add a few centimeters on my sleeve length for my next shirt, but overall happy with the shirt, not so happy with the estimations.

These guys went bankrupt some months ago. I’ve been trying to get my money back for 4 months from the firm that took over. I’ve lost €300+. Money gone. Do not order from them, they are completely unscrupulous.

Placed my first and most likely last order back in august for a shirt to be used at a wedding. After a month a received a shirt fitting like tent. I shipped that shirt back together with a shirt fitting great. After several messages and bad excuses I still don't have any answers and neither any shirts. It's has now been 161 days.
The shirts are excellent but the lead-time
The shirts are excellent but the lead time and delivery times are excessively long and I’m a long time customer
Good quality but excessive measurement tolerance
The fabric quality is good, and it's convenient to be able to customize all the shirt's measurements and details. However, the 2% allowed tolerance on measurements is excessive to ensure a perfect fit.
The packaging process has been simplified and prices have been increasing over the past few years. The selection of fabrics is very broad, although it's not always easy to tell the true real-life look from the photos.
Overall it's fine, but they should improve the measurement tolerance.
Awful communication and service
I have previously ordered from this company and been let down when the order took too long to ship and was advised it was due to materials not being available. This time when I ordered, I checked with the company first to make sure the material was in stock and there would not be delays, at which point I was told "2-3 weeks to ship". After around 4 weeks of no update I contacted Apposta to check this was close to being shipped. Over the next two weeks I emailed 3 more times with no response. Eventually I heard back and was advised delays were due to "corporate reorganising" and it would be shipped in the next 7 days. After 7 days still no update, so I emailed to ask for an update and was advised it will be shipped in the next 7 days. 7 days later it became clear it would not be with me in time so I requested they cancelled the order (no response this time). Today (a week after I requested cancellation) I got an email confirming it had been shipped. Very disappointed in this service and has caused me great inconvenience. I would recommend using a different made to measure company if you are not ordering around 3 months in advance
