Issues with 70cm Cooker Hood chimney fit
The cooker hood is now installed and it works. The instalation instructions left a lot to be desired. It is not an easy thing to install. The edges to the chimney sections are razor sharp. They say the height of the unit is 580mm but in fact this is the minimum height you need. The chimney is made up of the lower section which is 400mm of the 580mm and an upper section which is 400mm hign but fits inside the lower sliding up to your ceiling. Unless, as i did, you run out of chimney before you reach the ceiling. So you need to know that for it to fit properly, the bottom of the hood should be not more than say 580mm+390mm from the ceiling, allowing for a 10mm overlap of the sections. Or buy a different unit with longer chimney sections.
Also the top section is only held up at the top. there is nothing holding the two sections together. This wouldnt be a problem if each chimney section were rigid and 4 sided but they are not. Presumably to keep costs down the chimney sections are 3 sided - the back is missing. This is not visible but it means (unless I have missed something) that there is no support where the 2 sections meet. There was a mystery bracket that could have held the thing together but it was not clear either from instructions or from drilled holes and supplied screws how this could be attached. All in all it's difficult to put up this structure properly aligned.

Carrier aborted 1 st delivery
Carrier aborted 1 st delivery. Another date was agreed upon, i spoke with someone on the morning of delivery and explained exactly where to deliver too, i sat in our reception for over an hour and eventually rang back asking where item was. Was told it was delivered, check my work email and there was a photo of a building, a sign & Shed NOT OF ITEM. Through shear determination I scouted round the back of the Hospital and managed to find where photo taken, and arranged for porter to bring up to the office the following day. This was not ideal and rather time wasting. your delivery detail box should be larger to enable exact delivery space

I have been reading through reviews and realised that my issue from a review on Jan 21, 2026 and responded by Cookology a month later, implying that a manager would once again contact me via email. I just wanted to clarify that once again, this did not happen. Poor customer service

Cookology has completely failed !!!
To Customer Support,
I am writing to formally reject the induction hob received under order number 40296091 accordance with my statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
The appliance is completely unfit for purpose. It is severely noisy and is flashing a critical E1 hardware error code. I have already provided your company with two clear videos proving this severe fault.
Your customer service team is currently using stall tactics by demanding further imagery of the installation. I will not be sending any more photos or videos. The item is clearly defective.
Please be advised of the following:
* I have escalated this dispute directly to Klarna Buyer Protection and my bank.
* Klarna has officially frozen all further payments on this account while they investigate your refusal to process a return.
* The faulty unit is now packaged and awaiting collection. It is your legal responsibility to arrange and pay for a courier to collect this bulky, defective item.
Do not contact me via telephone or text message demanding further images or payments. Any further communication regarding this order must be handled formally through the open Klarna dispute portal or by replying directly to this email to coordinate the courier collection date.
I ordered the wrong item
I ordered the wrong item, I hate the tiny fridge, & I don't like having the Freezer on top of the fridge - I should have spent another £100ish & bought the Russell Hobbs model that is a little bigger AND has the Freezer under the Fridge. As soon as I can I will beg you to take this item back and swap it for the other model & I'll pay the difference! But you probably don't want to help me with this.
Delivery came on time but...
Delivery came on time, that was excellent but it was delivered upside down and just left on the doorstep. My 74 year old husband had to carry it into the house. The fridge itself is working atm but its so small. It is a replacement for an existing 50cm fridge but its so much smaller inside than my old one and none of the shelves are adjustable. Not happy with it all. Looking to get a different, bigger 50cm fridge. Company themselves seemed very helpful when i rang about it being delivered upside down. Its a shame the quality of the fridge doesnt match the company.
Easy to order and delivered on time…
Easy to order and delivered on time with good communication. Freezer is great just what I needed, until I can refurbish my kitchen, freezes well and is quiet. Have previously bought a Cookology microwave and it's been excellent.
There was some detail I had to clarify with Cookology after delivery. The staff were very polite and friendly and sorted my query quickly. Very impressed and would recommend.

Extremely disappointing experience with Cookology
I would strongly advise potential customers to think twice before buying from Cookology.
I purchased a fridge from them and the delivery was handled by Furdeco. I had informed Cookology in advance that I lived in a loft apartment with no lift. Despite this, Furdeco failed to complete the delivery properly. Their explanation that there was an “access issue” does not reflect what actually happened, and there was never any genuine agreement from us to simply leave the fridge in an unsuitable location.
As a result of the delivery company’s failure, I was left in an impossible situation and attempted to get the fridge upstairs myself. The fridge was subsequently damaged and became unusable.
What has been even more disappointing is Cookology’s handling of the complaint. Instead of taking proper responsibility and resolving the matter, their final offer was a ridiculous £20 refund. Considering the damage, the inconvenience and the circumstances surrounding the delivery, £20 is frankly insulting.
I also specifically requested the ADR details from Cookology so that I could escalate the matter through the appropriate independent dispute resolution process. Since making that request, they have stopped responding to me.
The £20 offer, in my opinion, felt less like a genuine attempt to resolve the problem and more like an attempt to make the complaint disappear. Being a “small company” is not an excuse for poor customer service or for failing to properly deal with a legitimate complaint.
I have since purchased another fridge of the same size from a different company, and the difference was night and day — the other company managed to deliver it upstairs without the problems Cookology and Furdeco created.
Very disappointing experience from start to finish. I expected Cookology to stand behind their customer and take responsibility for the service they arranged. Instead, I was left with a damaged appliance, unnecessary stress and an inadequate £20 offer.
I would not buy from Cookology again, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend them.
