Great price, unfortunately they did provide the wrong address and phone number for pick up which is a huge problem for people coming from airport.

The worst car hire company I have ever…

The worst car hire company I have ever used.
Our flight was an hour late and when we got to the car hire place they told us we can’t have the car unless we paid an extra €1400 euros for it. They wouldn’t refund us our money and left us with no car. Customer service were rude on the phone and they have no email. The company have no email to contact. We have had nothing from autoeurope to say our booking was cancelled and on our booking it still says confirmed so we have no proof that they didn’t give us the hire car.

My fly have delayed with one hour

My fly have delayed with one hour. Time to arrive at airport and call the rental company, but didn't answer. For that they consider No Show ( how did they thinking I can call from plane the company to tell them my fly is delayed). So no car and no refunded. Thank you "autoeurope" for your "support"

We are extremely disappointed and…

We are extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the way we were treated in connection with our car rental. We had made and paid for the reservation in good faith and fully expected to be able to collect the vehicle as agreed. However, when we arrived to pick up the car, we were informed that we were not allowed to rent it because the credit card we presented was on your list of cards that you do not accept.

We find this situation completely unreasonable and highly frustrating. We had made the reservation with the expectation that all requirements had been met, and we had no reason to believe that our credit card would be rejected at the counter. If there are specific restrictions regarding which credit cards are accepted, this information should be made absolutely clear and highly visible during the booking process — not presented to the customer for the first time when they are standing at the rental desk with a confirmed and paid reservation.

What made the situation even more disappointing was the lack of a practical solution offered to us. We were simply told that the card was not accepted because it appeared on your list, leaving us without the vehicle we had reserved and without any reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue on the spot.

We believe that it is the responsibility of the rental company to clearly communicate all essential requirements before the customer completes and pays for a reservation. A restriction concerning the type of credit card that can be used is not a minor detail; it is a fundamental condition that can determine whether the customer is actually able to rent the vehicle.

If certain cards, banks, card issuers, or types of credit cards are excluded, this should be clearly stated during the booking process in a way that an ordinary customer cannot reasonably miss. Customers should not have to discover such an important restriction only when they arrive to collect the vehicle.

The situation also caused us significant inconvenience because our travel plans were based on having this rental car available. We had arranged our transportation around the confirmed booking, and suddenly we were left without a vehicle and had to deal with the consequences ourselves. This resulted in unnecessary stress, wasted time, and additional inconvenience during our trip.

We are particularly unhappy that the responsibility appeared to be placed entirely on us, despite the fact that we had made the reservation in good faith. If this restriction was so important that it prevented us from renting the car, then it should have been made clear before we were allowed to complete the booking and payment.

Overall, this was a very poor customer experience. We expected a professional and transparent rental process, but instead we were left in a situation where a confirmed reservation was effectively useless because of a requirement that was not sufficiently clear to us beforehand.

We therefore expect a proper explanation of why we were able to make and pay for the reservation without being clearly warned that our credit card would not be accepted. We also expect you to address the inconvenience and additional costs this situation caused us and to provide a fair and reasonable resolution.

We hope that you will take this complaint seriously and investigate what happened. Customers should not be put in this position after making a confirmed reservation. The information regarding accepted payment methods and credit cards must be communicated clearly and transparently before the booking is completed.

This experience has left us extremely disappointed, and unless the matter is handled properly, it will certainly affect our willingness to use your company again or recommend your services to others.

Terrible and no customer service

I made a reservation and paid extra for flexible cancelation. When I went to pick up the car there was a problem with Euro car the company Auto Europe reserved with. When I tried to cancel and get a refund Euro Card said they couldn't make any changes and to contact Auto Europe. When I tried to contact them their customer service is non-existent. I found their old number on Google but that was just a recording directing you to their website that instructs you I cannot cancel or change this reservation online...

I booked a car through AutoEurope to be scammed by Surprice

I booked a car through AutoEurope to be collected in Cagliari AirPort with Surprice .

Surprice at a scamming organisation who would not accept my Mastercard credit card and refused to give me the car that I had booked .

These people are total bastards and corrupt. You must avoid Surprice at any cost.

AutoEurope should not allow customers to purchase car rental with Surprice.

Avoid Auto Europe brokers and Europcar

While Auto Europe brokers look attractive due to lower price, there is zero negotiation on any deviance from what is entered onto the booking. It was not made clear enough at the time of booking that an international driving permit was required for a booking with Europcar in Sicily. They did not refund one cent including the insurance premium. On a 10 day rental this is not a small amount to waste. I will not use Auto Europe or Europcar again. I walked across to Enterprise Rentals at Palermo airport and rented another car. No international permit required.

Rental Plus - Horrible

Rented a car in Italy through Rental Plus. Do not recommend. No communication that the location was shut down. Did not have an automatic car for what we needed, which was what I reserved. Car was completely beat up and not clean.

BEWARE: SCAM and 3rd PArty Broker

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Auto Europe.

Before my rental even began, I realized I had accidentally booked my reservation through July 27 instead of June 27. I immediately called Auto Europe on June 13 to correct the mistake before picking up the vehicle. Rather than helping me resolve the issue, I was told that nothing could be done until after I returned the vehicle.

As a result, I spent my vacation worried about a reservation problem that I had proactively reported before my rental even started.

After returning the vehicle, I had to contact Auto Europe again to request the promised review of my early return and refund for the unused portion of the reservation. Instead of receiving assistance, I found myself chasing information while also dealing with an unexpected damage claim from the rental company.

For a company that advertises itself as an advocate for its customers, I expected far more assistance. When customers identify an obvious booking mistake before the rental begins, there should be a practical way to resolve it. Instead, I was told to wait until after the rental, creating unnecessary stress and significantly complicating the situation.

I sincerely hope Auto Europe improves its customer service and takes a more proactive role in helping customers when issues arise.

We had booked a car 2 weeks pick-up…

We had booked a car 2 weeks pick-up from Bari Airport, we have had a experience with Auto europe, confirmationwise etc, we had paid the whole trip via auto europe. but when we arrived at Bari Airport, we were told that only creditcards were allowed. as the ONLY company in the airport they didnt accept Visa debit that is common in Dk. we were then told that instead of securitydeposit we could pay additional 75 euro pr day. so we ended up leaving after a short phonecall with Auto Europe where they clearly stated that it was my own fault and no refund or rebooking to other company was possible. Will consider using this site again, when they dont know their subcontractors.

Now i am down 2000 euro thanks to Autoeurope!!!

Auto Europe is an absolute scam

Auto Europe is absolute scam, we booked a car and when we went to pick the car up in Olbia airport it was denied because we had a prepaid credit card and not a official one from Mastercard credit or visa. This was mentioned in small printing after booking money from said credit prepaid credit card, the deposit needs a official credit card once you arrive. We didn't get a car nor did they give us our 600euro back. We are taking legal procedures now because it could save many many people their hard earned money. This company is officially in Munich and we will proceed with German law. This need to stop.. dooo not book with auto Europe.. do not boook

Unilateral cancellation, no explanation, no reply

I booked a car for pickup in Alghero (booking confirmation #639314811) and it was unilaterally cancelled less than 24 hours later — no explanation, no notice, no alternative offered.
Immediately I tried to rebook for the same dates and same provider (Alamo), prices had gone up by more than 40%. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
I contacted customer service and received no reply whatsoever. A confirmed booking should mean exactly that: confirmed. Awful experience, zero trust in this platform.

One Huge Scam!!!

Absolute bullshit. They rent you a car and say it’s a paid in full price. Then you go to pick it up and there are triple the add-ons. So if you think it’s going to cost you $1000, it really costs you $3000. It is all one huge scam and they know it. You are now on your vacation and you either take the car or leave it, at triple the price. I would NOT recommend Auto Europe to anyone ever!!!

Very disappointing experience with Auto…

Very disappointing experience with Auto Europe.
We made a pre paid reservation including insurance and a one-way rental with Avis from downtown Atlanta to New Orleans Airport.
When we arrived, Avis told us that no cars were available for drop-off in New Orleans and that Auto Europe should never have confirmed this booking without verifying availability. Auto Europe's customer service was unreachable, leaving us with no assistance.
We were forced to make a new reservation directly with Avis at nearly double the cost, without insurance, and with additional transportation expenses and significant delays.
Auto Europe failed to deliver the service we paid for and provided no support when the problem occurred. We are requesting reimbursement for the extra costs but they are not answering to our emails. We would not recommend using this company.

No support when things go wrong – useless "insurance"

I booked a car through Auto Europe and paid for their "full insurance" cover in advance. When the local provider (Sicily by Car) refused to accept my digital credit card and forced me to buy a second, expensive insurance policy, I contacted Auto Europe for help.

Their customer service acknowledged that I was paying for insurance twice and understood the situation, yet stated there was "nothing they could do." If a broker cannot protect its customers from being shaken down for extra fees by their partners, they provide no value. I essentially paid Auto Europe for insurance that was rendered useless, and they offered zero compensation or support. Completely ridiculous service.

Full coverage is a fraud

We purchased full coverage, yet Auto Europe still owes us money more than a year after the accident. Their customer service is unresponsive and unhelpful, and the claims process is extremely slow and frustrating. This is an awful company with awful service. I would strongly advise others to avoid them.

Misleading prices and hidden charges — paid almost double at pickup

I booked a Citroën C3 (non-electric) through Auto Europe for $290.57 total, including all fees, and paid in full. When I arrived at Europcar Rome Fiumicino Airport, they said my booking was for an electric car — not what I selected. To get a normal gas car, I had to pay about €100 extra, plus another €100 “age fee”, even though my age was clearly entered when booking.

In the end, I was charged about $531 total, nearly double what Auto Europe advertised. The pricing was misleading and not transparent. Had I known the real cost, I would have chosen another company.

Auto Europe should clearly display the actual total price and ensure Europcar honors what customers book. Terrible experience — I will not book through them again.

Useless operator unable to solve paid…

Useless operator unable to solve paid rental car repeating "no refund available" probably due to shortage of car class I had reserved 45 days prior to timely arrival.
Auto Europe is there to take money and find excuses not to find replacement provider or offer any solution.
Other local provider had no problem renting a car with same documents.
