Selling on ebay is a absolute joke
Selling on ebay is a absolute joke, the customer service agent will advise yiu to do the wrong thing more then the right. They even stated they would refund me for their issues and misguidance. Then I get a email that say basically we dont care what we said and no refund. When we are talking $800+ thats crap. Delete thay app whole you can. They take about 1/3 of your sales and call it fair.
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. I have bought an item, and it does not work. The seller will not answer emails, and eBay are totally and utterly uninterested. NEVER AGAIN.
Counterfeit silver coins
I ordered quite a few silver coins off of Ebay during the past six weeks. An inordinate number of them turned out to be counterfeits. Ebay supposedly has procedures to deal with such, but it is often obscure and difficult to follow through. Buy from a reputable source. I certainly cannot recommend Ebay!
Ebays Policy's and Fees
Ebay has a 31 day wait from purchase on selling depending on item cost and even after the buyer reviews they still dont let you receive your funds. Their fees are also so extreme to the point where they take 1/3 of the funds for what you sell.
They Have My Funds On Hold After Delivery
My item was delivered to customer on July 2nd, I'm still waiting on my payment. I was on the phone with customer service for about an hour on Thursday, July 9th trying to get the tracking details uploaded to prove delivery. One of the customer service reps said she could see it was delivered. Another rep that is supposed to release the funds said I had to prove delivery by providing the tracking number. I attempted over and over to give them the tracking details after several attempts, he said they would release the funds in 24-48 hours. Unless they mean 48 hours business days, my funds are still on hold and the system is showing the package is still in shipped status and not as delivered. This is pissing me off. I have sold on Ebay before a while back. Never have I had so much trouble getting paid. After this experience, I'm never selling on Ebay again.
Ebay has fallen as did the Roman Empire
It's been 18 years for me as a seller and buyer on Ebay. 100% feedback score. Well, today I am through. Sold an expensive pair of ruby and diamond earrings to a scammer in Hawaii I find out. What does Ebay do? Buyer bypassed the authentication hub. Then handwrote my address scribbled like a child and took it to her post office and used her own tracking number instead of Ebays label and then when package was out for delivery buyer intercepted package. Package was never delivered to me obviously as there is probably nothing in the package and now it's sitting in the 📫 office as I filed a report. With all these Ebay serious violations Ebays idiotic customer service representatives take her side. They think she should keep the earrings and I should refund her. When hell freezes over and not in this lifetime. Thank God Ebays computer system won't allow that. Changed all my bank acct info and payment methods and put a permanent stop on Ebay. Now if they try to withdraw money they cannot. The bank info has changed and I have all new acct numbers and a new acct. Ebay won't allow u to remove the bank info as they require at least 1. Also unlink your PayPal account as well. Call PayPal directly and have them do it to make sure its done correctly. The only reason I am not deleting my Ebay acct is because it has been a long 18 years of hard work and I won't erase this. I will only be a buyer from now on only because I have wonderful vendors and connections. Ebay will not hurt me anymore. This last transaction is a nightmare and a true shock to me. Save all documents and transfer onto PDF FILES so incase u need proof of all the damage Ebay and it's useless customer service representatives have done.
Ebay thinks it is so wise beyond. It is not. Can u imagine? I had a stroke few weeks back and my Blood pressure spiked off the charts and I never had BP issues before. Whatever goes around surely comes around. I can't wait. So my point is what used to be a good platform has now become the devil's pond. Please beware of the new Ebay. Not worth it. I'll never see my earrings again and buyer will not see my money. What used a be a successful forum is now "The Devils Pond". The fall of the Roman Empire. Amen

Poor customer service & haven't received payout.
My experience with eBay customer support (service), employee was rude, employees sound burnt out, employee provide incorrect information, they hang up on customers. Second issue, eBay holds funds for 7 calendar days even if buyer confirms receipt, bad eBay policy, therefore I will no longer sell on eBay. 3rd issue, the supervisor, Ricky, in "the release funds department", he worked on Saturday @ noon, he was not helpful, sounds burnt out with his job, unsympathetic to my concerns, he informed me he did not have a supervisor and that he was in charge. I get the impression eBay only cares about money and could careless about customers. I still have not received my payout for an item I sold on eBay. I encourage other customers to avoid doing business with eBay, it's not worth it. Look for a more professional platform to sell and buy, like Real real or Poshmark or Etsy.
Customer support is completely useless
Customer support is completely useless. I was supposed to get a $10 app discount. During check out, I changed my payment method which must have removed the code. So, over nearly an hour of chatting (their responses are very slow), I asked support if they could retroactively apply the code or give me a $10 refund, but they said this was impossible. The only solution they offered was manually requesting cancellations on each item in my order and trying again--this process could take days! Support, even after escalating to a supervisor, is unable to help with anything other than directing you to information on their website.
eBay sucks
eBay sucks! I’ve sold and I’ve bought from eBay for years and my have they changed! Twice I’ve had a purchase not delivered and twice eBay sided with the seller! I’ve had to eat the money I spent to purchase these items! They never sent me proof of delivery, tracking or even a photo that it was delivered! I will never ever ever do business with them again!
We have received a piece of garbage…
We have received a piece of garbage delivery for our money. The saler is a scammer. He send us completely rubbish materials. The saler shouldn't be on ebay platform any more
21 Years of Loyalty, Zero Customer Protection
After more than 21 years as an eBay customer, I never expected to leave a review like this. My recent experience has completely destroyed my confidence in eBay’s customer service and its so-called Buyer Protection.
My niece accidentally purchased an item from my watchlist while using my phone. Within minutes, I requested to cancel the order through eBay, but the seller immediately declined. I contacted eBay and was told they could not cancel the order because it was the seller’s decision. I was also assured that once the item arrived, I could simply return it for a full refund because it had been purchased accidentally.
Relying on that advice, I accepted delivery and immediately submitted a return request. The seller rejected it, and when I contacted eBay again, I was told there was nothing they could do because the seller had a “No Returns” policy. I was advised to contact my credit card provider instead.
After speaking with my credit card company, I contacted eBay again. On 6 July, after reviewing my case, a customer service representative confirmed my refund had been approved and would be processed within three days.
Three days later, nothing had happened.
When I contacted eBay again, one representative tried to deny the previous conversation had even taken place and disconnected the call when I asked for a manager. After calling back, another representative found the case notes but told me eBay had changed its mind and would no longer issue a refund. Instead, I was told to resell the item on eBay.
I am not a seller. I simply wanted to return an accidental purchase. eBay’s solution was for me to generate another transaction—and more fees—for the platform.
The most disappointing part wasn’t the refusal to refund; it was being repeatedly given false information and relying on promises that eBay later refused to honour.
In the UK, businesses must not mislead consumers under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and must act fairly under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. In the US, the Federal Trade Commission Act prohibits unfair or deceptive business practices. Whether eBay believes it has complied with its policies or not, repeatedly giving incorrect information and then reversing decisions falls far below the standard customers should expect.
After 21 years of loyalty, I expected honesty, consistency, and accountability. Instead, I received contradictory advice, broken promises, and poor customer service.
Think carefully before buying from eBay. Based on my experience, Buyer Protection is not as reliable as eBay claims, and the advice you receive from Customer Service may not be honoured.
Canceled before I even started
I may have purchased a few things on eBay over the years, but recently decided to try selling a jewelry item. Before my first listing they restricted the account. When I called to verify, they only said that my account will remain restricted. They couldn't give me a reason. I can't even buy anything, they said I would have to check out as a guest to purchase in the future. There aren't a whole lot of ways to sell personal jewelry already, the fact that one large platorm can't even give a reason the have taken this option away is rediculous.
Money back guarantee
Ordered a rebuild kit for the carberator on my bike. I live in Delaware and got a notice it was delivered. I tapped the link to inform them I did not get it. They provided proof of delivery to an address in Pennsylvania. I disputed with the obvious facts and they denied my claim because shipper had proof of delivery, (to wrong address, wrong state). No money back guarantee!!
Fool me once. E bay is a scam. Do NOT trust!!
I am giving 1 star as I can’t write this
I am giving 1 star as I I tried to purchase a top on eBay which cost £54 I sent seller an offer of £49 after that I went on to purchase the jumper and eBay charged me £77 they said they sent jumper for Authenticity which they don’t have the jumper seller has itbThey are nothing but Thieves
Most of the time for almost 20 yrs
Most of the time for almost 20 yrs, I've had a good experience with ebay. I'd find discontinued items that are no longer in store. I won a laptop in an auction at the end of last month, and today, I received an empty box with 2 small envelopes in it and no laptop. Be ware of the seller bmg3ll, cause that's the name of the scam artist that sent me an empty box
I used this site for a total of like 25…
I used this site for a total of like 25 years and sold on it for 4. Basically, they went to AI and think they're going to be Amazon and aren't honoring insurance anymore and I can't be selling very valuable, sometimes one of a kind items through a website that has stopped honoring insurance. Very specifically, when a customer admits to not checking a delivery when it was dropped off and then letting it sit unattended for 2 days before 'finding a problem' that's not my problem since it was fully insured and the customer admitted they didn't know the condition it was in when it was delivered. The item in question was sold 'as is' with 'no returns' AND it was 'fully insured'. So the customer would have gotten the product as I sent it or their money back regardless if the rules had been properly followed, but instead eBay chose to screw me (the seller) and forced a refund (so I also lost the money spent on ins and the money spent on shipping). The package was also obviously not damaged when sent out since it was dropped off in person at the post office.
Ebay lost me as a buyer and a seller out of this. And they lost hard, because all the stuff I was selling was being bought off eBay, so they were making money off me on both ends...
Ebay is always best

I have used ebay for many years as a lot of you have i am sure. As a behavioral architect, i must say, their site backend is horrid. The front end is polished because that's all they care about, getting the sale. After that, they don't care how much effort it takes us because they are unreachable. Their architecture is failing at best when your ticket printing locks up the entire browser session, and let's not get started on the blatant lies told for extractive purposes, extremely unethical people. You would think after all of these years, they could afford to hire competent engineers but I suppose this is what happens when you put profits ahead of correctness.
Banned instantly for absolutely nothing.
I created a brand-new account just to buy a toy, but eBay's system immediately blocked me permanently. My local phone number didn't receive the SMS verification code due to a technical glitch on their website. When I tried to fix it and use my shipping forwarder's number, the automated system flagged me as suspicious and suspended my account instantly.
I tried contacting support and explained the whole situation. I was fully ready to provide proof of my identity, but they didn't even ask for it or give me a chance. All I got in return were automated, copy-pasted rejections from bots that didn't even bother to read my message. They claim they "carefully reviewed" everything within a couple of hours, which is physically impossible for a human representative.
They treat honest international buyers like criminals just because of their own technical bugs. Terrible, broken system and zero human support. Completely disappointed.
