has solid services , but support is useless. had constant network issue but took them 8 days to resolve it.
To be fair up front: Hetzner's servers and technical quality are genuinely good, and for a long time I would have rated them highly on that alone.
But their customer support — especially when something actually goes wrong — is a completely different story, and it has been the worst I have experienced.
I was locked out of my own account for almost two weeks and never got back in. Instead of a clear resolution, my issue was spread across four separate tickets, and I received several uncoordinated replies from different people, none of whom seemed aware of what the others had already said. My formal complaint was never taken seriously or escalated to anyone who could actually help.
At no point was there any recognition that being locked out of your own account has direct consequences for a business. Live projects were unreachable and I could not act on them. As a direct result of the outage and the negligence in handling it, I lost several clients, and I was ultimately forced to migrate everything to another provider just to keep operating. No business owner should have to accept that.
The phone contact was even worse. On one call, after a long wait, the line was simply cut off. On another, I reached someone who immediately became defensive — instead of dealing with my complaint, I was blamed for "writing too much", told I should only answer a single question, and it was obvious my emails hadn't even been read. Rather than help, the conversation was steered away from the actual problem, and it ended with them hanging up on me mid-conversation.
Stubborn, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility for their own mistakes — that is how the entire experience felt.
Great hardware, but if you ever need real support, be warned.
I have purchased several Hetzner services both for myself and for clients, including dedicated servers and domains.
Most of my dedicated servers were purchased through the Hetzner Server Auction, and so far I have been very satisfied with the hardware and performance I receive for the price I pay. The value for money is excellent, especially if you know how to manage and configure your own servers.
What I particularly like about Hetzner is the amount of control they give you. I prefer having full control over my servers instead of being restricted by managed hosting environments, and Hetzner makes it possible to run dedicated infrastructure at a very reasonable cost.
For developers, system administrators, and businesses that are comfortable managing their own infrastructure, I think Hetzner offers a very good balance between price, performance, and control.
Based on my experience so far, I am very satisfied with their services and will continue using Hetzner for both my own projects and client projects.

We're using it at NeuraVPS as our main infrastructure provider. They offer a very professional service, with the cheapest prices in the industry and allowed us to escale our business to more than 200 powerful dedicated servers. Their data-centers have 24/7 high-quality support, while still offering a lot of automated proceses that save us time and money.

We had a hard drive issue and urgently needed a drive changed. This is probably any sysadmin's worst nightmare.
I found the system where you report problems extremely well thought out. It was so easy to ask for engineering help. Within less than 90 minutes an engineer was dispatched and we were up and running.
It's very clear - Hetzner is the best in the world.

If you want to stop your business in a few months, use Hetzner. No support, no communication.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Hetzner's customer support has been extremely disappointing.
After deciding to stop using their services, I deleted all of my cloud resources and requested the closure of my customer account along with the deletion of my personal data under Article 17 of the GDPR.
Instead of receiving meaningful assistance, I repeatedly received generic automated replies. My requests were effectively ignored, and when a human response finally arrived, it took 3–4 weeks. This level of response time is simply unacceptable, especially for requests involving account closure and personal data.
Eventually, I was informed that all of my services had already been terminated. However, I was also told that I still had outstanding charges and that an invoice covering the last three months would be issued. This was extremely confusing. If all services had already been terminated, it should have been clearly explained what exactly was still being billed and why. The lack of transparency only added to the frustration.
The most frustrating part is that the system continued to claim I had active products, preventing me from deleting my own account, while support could not provide a clear explanation in a reasonable timeframe. Despite contacting both billing support and the privacy/data protection team, I received no clear resolution for weeks.
I expected much better from a company with Hetzner's reputation. Reliable infrastructure is only part of the service—responsive customer support, transparent billing, and efficient handling of account and privacy requests are equally important.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Hetzner until they significantly improve their customer support and communication.

Writing a review about their system of invoices and how they use game of words in their advantage.
I used their services for a bit and then recieved an invoice. In the message they sent me was this:
Please pay all your open invoices by
... If you do not pay your invoices, three
things will happen:
1. We will cancel all your products, services, and your account.
2. You will lose all data, including backups.
3. We will send your debt to our debt collection agency.
This was sent to me a few times for a different time periods, so in the end I did pay my invoice AFTER the last notice period and forgot about their existence. As they clearly said: We will cancel all your products
However they in fact did not. Next month I received another invoice just when I did not used ANY of their services.
I tried contacting the support, however of course there was no response. In the end I paid this invoice too because the sum was not much.
However constant threats, not following their own rules and most importantly complete ghosting from their support is what makes me write that review. Never use their services.

I run a site for social lawyers in Holland.
After 15 years of uninterrupted service of my dedicated server, the account department pulled the plug without any notice or warning because of a direct debit failure. Four hours later the tech dept. informed me of this. So 51 lawyers and their staff were barred from their data and workflow for a half day and I received multiple support requests. The reaction is not true; I did not receive any reminder or warning, I would have payed immediately if informed.

I have been a loyal Hetzner customer since 2022 and have always paid my invoices on time. During the past four years, I have trusted Hetzner with my business infrastructure and hosted multiple production servers without any payment issues.
On 31 July 2026, I unexpectedly received an email informing me that my entire account and all of my services would be cancelled effective 31 August 2026. The only explanation given was that the cancellation was in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. No specific reason, evidence, or policy violation was ever shared with me.
I contacted support multiple times and requested a review of my case. I also cooperated fully by removing my email address from a client's Hetzner account after I believed this might have been a concern. Despite my efforts and willingness to comply with any requirements, I was simply informed that the decision was final and could not be appealed.
What disappoints me most is the lack of transparency. As a customer who has been with Hetzner since 2022 and has consistently paid invoices on time, I expected a clear explanation or at least an opportunity to resolve any issue before such a serious decision was made.
This cancellation has affected not only my business but also my clients, whose services depend on these servers.
Hetzner's infrastructure has generally been reliable, but customer service and account management in situations like this have been very disappointing. Long-term customers deserve better communication, greater transparency, and a fair opportunity to address any concerns before their entire account is terminated.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, I can no longer recommend Hetzner to businesses that depend on long-term stability and customer support.

Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with, terrible response times and a lack of care when it comes to solving problems that they themselves caused in the first place.

Absolute nightmare process to cancel services. I no longer have any active projects on my dashboard and explicitly requested to terminate all remaining services. The only answer I received from support was a generic: "You still have active services, so you will keep receiving invoices."
To make matters worse, the "Delete Account" button is greyed out with no explanation provided. Their interface makes it nearly impossible to find and fully remove residual resources, and customer support offers zero help in manually closing them.
I am now forced to block my credit card to prevent unfair charges. Very bad user experience and questionable retention practices.
Hetzner’s response on Trustpilot is completely misleading. I didn't just "stop using" the service or look at an empty dashboard: I explicitly emailed customer support asking to cancel ALL active services, terminate my account, and delete all my data.
Instead of executing my cancellation request, support simply replied: "You still have active services, so you will keep receiving invoices." They completely ignored my request to close everything and preferred to keep the meter running.

Scam hosting. They customer support is the worst. I lost all my project which was worth lot of money and they did nothing to help me get it back

Severely unresponsive and unprofessional.
Our developers recommended Hetzner as a leader in secure, high quality servers. Their protocols for verification were a little convoluted but we persevered. We filled in the details to advise the team of the IP addresses of our developers so they knew what work patterns to expect. Within 24 hours of starting the work, Hetzner sent hundreds of urgent email messages about "Server Abuse: Account will be locked if no action is taken." Our developers logged 282 tickets, and I responded to several daily emails. Hetzner said everything was fine, but proceeded to lock our server anyway.
When we emailed them to ask for an explanation of their actions, we were met with silence. Eventually they unlocked the server but now our domain is stuck. I don't know what kind of $%!t show they are running but no business can scale with this support. Run for the hills and do not use.

I couldn't view the server pricing as my account wasn't verified. I was encouraged to verify my account by depositing funds. Then got to see server pricing and realised hetzner is having a capacity crunch and can't provide the VPS I wanted. So I am now moving to another provider, but Hetzner has effectively taken $25 from me - a really scummy tactic, you should let unverified accounts view pricing!

Expensive and unavailable. I used my 25 dollars for "validation", hope I get them back.
