HORRID
HORRID. I have not been able to sign into my account for over a year. I won't try again. MSN has no technical assistance unless you are willing to wait on the phone for hours. I am not. It's just email, not national security. It is not business related. Just frigging email. But MSN has it locked down like every person on the planet in an internet threat. I won't bother trying to get into the account again. And MSN....that joint needs a deep cleansing brain enema.
Simply broken
Simply broken. Want to access Word via online Outlook, doesn't open. Press sign-in and an entire different e-mail address (work-related) is suggested which I then can't change. So I can't sign in. Useless.
Apple, here I come.
New outlook email not working
For some reason they changed emails to outlook, Now I can't check my email on my laptop. Total bs. Again a unwanted update and change in format makes it unable to get your email. This is absolutely unacceptable. But no one cares. And why does a email provider need to get into my email to edit, delete or whatever, or why do they want to know my exact age. This is not right at all.
I changed my phone and could not access my email
I changed my phone and could not remember my password. I tried all the help tools on Microsofts site but had no responses only one saying they were looking at my case. I called the UK helpline and that just directed me back to the online help tool which wasn't working. There is no opportunity to speak to someone. I sent replies to the email sent to my recovery email but again no response. I cannot access my online banking as I need email verification. I am still locked out of outlook and have now received a message saying I have tried too many recovery attempts and will not be able to try again for 24 hours. Diabolical customer service.
Frustrated
I do not like how if I’m looking at my Outlook app on my phone at the top of the screen it shows “Other Emails” and will show the subject of the email. However, I have no access to open it or see it. I can click on the “Other” tab next to the “Focus” tab but still I cannot see that email. I have to log onto a desktop computer in order to see that particular email. It’s a problem because it’s an important email that I need to see and should be able to see on my phone. It has now happened multiple times.
Another issue is it auto saves every single email address I use. I will start to type in a saved contact’s email address but it will auto populate all of these other email addresses that I do not want saved. It used to be that I could log onto a desktop computer and manually delete those email addresses as they would auto populate to prevent those unwanted email addresses from future auto populating. I could just click on the X next to their email address as it would auto populate and the email address would disappear forever but now, I am no longer able to do that. I have gone in and tried to clear the history through the settings but still these unwanted email addresses will still auto populate. It has become a headache because I have accidentally in a rush, thinking my saved contact is popping up, clicked it and hit sent only to realize it went to an auto populated unsaved contact. I have reached out and asked why the option to forever delete any email address I have use and do not want to auto populate was removed but there has been no response.
Also, another issue is if I log into a desktop and correctly enter my known password, it will deny me access. In order to login, it prompts for me to either to send a code to my phone or a code to a different email address in order to access my email account. When you are in a hurry, this is very aggravating. Especially when you’re waiting for the code to come to either your phone or the other email address you have now had to log into but the code never comes. You then have to ask them to resend it but only after a certain amount of time has past. When this happens three times in a row, it becomes even more aggravating. I’m to a point that I’m considering using a completely different platform for emails. They just keep updating their app and instead of making it better it’s just gotten worse. So, if you’re reading these reviews and you are in the market for a new email account I would advise you to proceed with caution if you choose Outlook.
Logging in on pc is so hard
Logging in on pc is so hard
I can't even log in on the pc because it has failed. I mean honestly. It wants my mobile number, then to do 2 captcha things, then it wants a 6 digit code. Apparently the code is wrong and I can't even log on now.
I think it's about time I start looking for a new email provider who doesn't have these 15 hoops to jump through to login.
A pile of garbage coded by incompetents
Saying this app is garbage is paying it a compliment. This is one of the biggest software corporations there is, it used to set standards for quality, but how they have the guts to publish an app like this, and make companies pay for it, is beyond me. Even if we paid 0 money to use it, it would still be worth less money than that. Meetings that don't sync up with the calendar or disappear, availabilities that don't show until you have sent the invite, the amount of trash that the microsoft developers code lately (if they even code, it's probably just AI slop) is ludicrous and the fact that this is a product for corporations should be declared a scam and illegal. Bunch of incompétents that should take their AI coded products and shove them where the sun doesn't shine.

the bit I really hate is that if you read an email, the next email is automatically selected and marked as "read" when it hasn't been. I spend half my life going back to un-read emails and re-marking as "unread" repeatedly. Not to mention the chaotic ordering system for emails, ancient messages suddenly popping up and seeming at first to be recent so constantly checking dates. Rubbish all round really.
IT USES EMAIL
Add Recovery email loop - Frustrating
I'm just trying to log into my Hotmail account I've had for years on my laptop but I'm stuck in a loop where it is demanding to "Add Recovery email" which many users like myself do not have and without having a Recovery email, you are not moving forward to simply login to check my emails. I'm not going to create a random email account just to use for recovery purposes as I will not have the need to use that account and probably get locked out of it or worse get deleted for non-usage.
I don't have a secondary number either nor will use my partners as when it comes to verification, she will take a few mins to reply with the verification code.
Come on Microsoft, do better. I'm now considering to try another email provider who doesn't require all this "add recovery email" rubbish.
Most counterintuitive security…
Most counterintuitive security measures. You cannot change your security information and authentications for 30 days after submitting a request!? My personal information became compromised, so now I have to give the hacker 30 days of access for my own "security." Zero customer support. Absolute smooth-brained company.
Find Something Better Than Outlook
I'm a Microsoft customer and have been for years. Outlook is definitely deteriorating, slow, unreliable and difficult to use. I'm going to New Mexico on Saturday and want to change the date of my hotel checkout to Mountain Time. I can do Minsk, and I can do Beijing, but do you think I can change it from EST? No. And I don't even get customer service anymore, they tell me to go to the chat room!
CHILDISH COMPANY CHILDISH LOGIN_ GROW UP!!!
Another company set on giving silly puzzles wasting my time. All of a sudden it wont accept passwords . I refuse to do facial, finger prints etc to damn nosey. got peed of doIng silly american games . Tried the noise one hoping it would be faster but no, just as long and stupid as the childish picture puzzles . SHAME on all companies that demean our intelligence by offering nursery school puzzles . Do children run their company or something!!! GROW UP FOR GOODNESS SAKES.!!
Terrible in countless ways
I could write about the myriad annoyances and outright failures Microsoft's Outlook has, but I will just mention the worst failure of all:
For a period of around a week, without any indication whatsoever that something was wrong, Outlook stopped receiving emails. Both in the web *and* and in the mobile app. Fortunately none of the 5 or so emails I received were urgent to deal with, but I dread to think what would have happened at busier times of the year.

Major issues if you have multiple accounts such as work etc. Its so frustrating I wish they would just fix the basics before bothering with AI co-pilot help.
Gets worse and worse
As if this service couldn't get any worse with the 'updated' layout and the double Ads, I'm now getting phishing scam Ads.
Congrats Outlook, I'm heading to one of your many competitors.
