1 star is too generous. Awful platform. Gave them a try after HL hiked their fees so my wife & I transferred our ISA’s but wish we hadn’t. Constant problems. Dividends routinely get paid several days late & their latest wheeze is incorrectly applying a 20% UK withholding tax (supposed to apply to overseas investors/accounts) on our dividends. They currently owe us around £500 in withheld dividend income. Still not resolved weeks later. Customer service responses are painfully slow. Headbanging stuff. Best avoided.
When I called their customer service, they were professional and friendly and gave me an easy to understand explanation for my question. Plus my overall experience with IG has been good.
I am writing this formal complaint while a pristine golden afternoon sun is hitting a neat stack of notebooks on my mahogany desk, which completely CONTRASTS with the absolute FINANCIAL devastation inflicted upon me by IG. My funds simply vanished into thin air like those politicians who publicly campaign against local data center limits while secretly investing heavily in the very same tech industry. The hypocrisy is STAGGERING, but not nearly as staggering as the sheer incompetence of IG's support team. I deposited my capital expecting SECURE handling, yet my account balance was drained without authorization. I DEMAND answers immediately. Look, I was at my absolute wits end after losing thousands, my cousin pushed me to check GuerrillaChargeback. honestly surprised it did anything. Yes, my money actually returned through GuerrillaChargeback, defying all my expectations. The procedure was an absolute bureaucratic NIGHTMARE involving endless verification forms and digital runarounds that tested the very limits of my sanity. I stared at the screen for hours, holding my breath, watching the pending status tick upward. until my entire life came crashing down upon a devastating realization. They delivered my coffee with skim milk instead of oat milk. Absolutely UNFORGIVABLE service.
Love the web app. Everything is clear and its great that it shows you the potential amount of money you might lose if a stop gets hit.
It has a decent analytics section.
It took a while to figure out but all trades can be downloaded in CSV format.
The one thing it is missing is I would like if it showed my previous trades on the charts with arrows.
I warned everybody about this disgusting company months ago. Just look at the dozens of one star reviews and never ever consider using them again. I have managed to get their revolting advert banned from my telly three times, as it is hugely misleading and inaccurate. It has somehow crept back on. I shall be banning it for a fourth time and I trust this horrendous company will promise never to use that hugely irritating Scottish male voice ever again.
Devesh Bathija from UK customer support gave me excellent service and response for my issue with stock transfers and is keeping me up to date.
However the IG stock transfer processes in general seem to be quite poor and I should not have had to contact IG support to chase it up after a month of delay in the first place. Thank goodness Devesh Bathija could help and chase it up for me.
Very poor platform. They don't help at all; customer service is very poor because they never reply. When trading, if you open a position that is opposite to a long-term trend, they will close the original position, leaving no open trades.

I was responded to exactly the way i wanted
Has anyone else heard that IG have ditched their Bed & ISA service and you now have to undertake the sale and repurchase yourself, even if both your stock portfolio and your Stocks & Shares ISA are held with them?
IG have traditionally provided this service seamlessly, and I have used it without issue in the past. It seems things have quietly changed behind the scenes. On 21 August, I asked IG to undertake a Bed & ISA transaction for me, which they accepted in writing the same day. They asked me to ensure there was sufficient cash in my ordinary account to cover the dealing costs, and I confirmed that the cash available generously covered their estimate. I was told that the process was handled via batch runs every Tuesday and Thursday, and that I would receive confirmation when the transfer was complete.
As no transfers had taken place across the next 4 consecutive batch runs, I phoned client services. After an hour-long conversation—and being placed on hold while the agent checked with "the desk"—I was told: "I have logged the Bed & ISA for you to take place on Tuesday (8 Sept)... I will chase this for you and ensure it gets done."
Yet, at 15:43 yesterday (on the exact day of promised execution), the agent posted this update:"I wanted to share an update from the team regarding your account. Since your account has been migrated to the new custodian, you will need to sell the shares and then buy them back within your ISA - this is because the BED and ISA is not supported after migration. I understand this may not be the news you were hoping for, and I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
I received no prior notification of this systemic change, no warning, and just this "do it yourself" message 2½ weeks after they accepted my initial instruction. This delay has systematically missed critical tax-wrapper windows for upcoming dividend dates, exposing my portfolio to market movements.I wanted to share my experience publicly because, as of yesterday, IG's website help pages were still actively promoting and instructing clients on how to use their in-house Bed & ISA execution service.
Am I alone?
In response to the rather patronising response from IG, I would add that I didn't ask IG to migrate my account, I didn't ask them to cease their bed and Isa processes, I didn't expect an IG front line agent to misrepresent the facts and I didn't expect a reply which only says "thank you for your feedback". What I would have expected from any reputable business would have been a customer wide communication of the impact of "migration" i.e IG announces the abolition of the bed and Isa process, the removal of "news" feeds from company charts and the changes to the final sales price process when shares are sold. I would have also expected a full training programme for all agents, with an update of their scripts so they don't mislead, I would have expected a revision of the AI Gio process so that promises can be kept, and I would expect a web page that is up to date and not promoting non-existing benefits of the platform - the last point of which borders on misrepresentation and may be of more than a passing interest to the Advertising Standards Agency. If this were my business, several heads would roll!!

I have to totally agree with Curtronix and I have come to the same conclusion, the new app for android sucks, you can't even arrange your investments by value anymore, I also used this platform for years. Always been stable however since a recent major update the platform is very unreliable and buggy. The IG App issues include irregular account value, no news anymore for stocks I have invested in, the news section is just blank for most stocks, no RNS history for instruments and no new RNS data available in the app or web. Closing prices don't reflect actual market anymore. Customer service consists of an ai chat bot that does nothing to help. I will also be moving away from this platform ASAP, all because they wanted to make the app look new and shiny. Ridiculous that they risk losing so much money and investors over this app update, the old one was so much better, clearer and more intuitive to use. They also removed the sell or purchase at quote price function which was one of the best aspects of clear trading functionality when you don't have a lot of time to be waiting on trades etc.
Fix it IG or I'm leaving too

Excellent service. Clear and concise advice.
Highly recommend.
Transfered my stock portfolio to IG. Since transfer I have been unable to access my own portfolio. Despite numerous bot chats and telephone calls I still cant access my OWN ACCOUNT

Deposited money this morning vi transfer as recommended and issued an IG transaction number. Not shown up in my account despite three calls and a day of worry. Customer service not understanding and manager too busy to take a call or escalate. Shame to see how bad things have become here no option but to use Trustpilot or X to garner a response. Totally unacceptable zero reassurance and the onus on me, Appears I am not alone - shocking!

I had a CFD account with them. Now they deleted my account without any information given to me. I had a balance in this account. Now no one is replying or giving my money back.
I do not think it is a professional company.

Have used this platform for years. Always been stable however since a recent major update the platform is very unreliable and buggy. This relates to both the IG App and also web log in via browser. Issues include but are not limited to irregular account value, no RNS history for instruments and no new RNS data available in the app or web. At various points in the day large numbers of instruments appear delisted so you can't trade for long periods. Closing prices dont reflect actual market anymore. Very poor.
The removal of the facility to get a quote to buy or sell immediately has also now been removed, reducing options and making trading more time consuming and less predictable.
Customer service consists of chat bots. Will be moving away from this platform ASAP as its cumbersome and unreliable now making others seem more attractive. Look elsewhere.

I feel that IG improved a lot in the past year. However, there are still limitations like placing orders outside of trading hours and limited stocks availability. Customer service is good, but things like adding a stock to the profile or resolving a request straight away is not achievable yet. If they would ask for feedback and act on it, could easily be the number 1 in the UK.
Transferred ISA really easy to do, quickly processed no problems. I find the IG app much easier to use than other platforms.
Fees are high. For example FX fee is 25bps (down form 50 just a few months ago but still unreasonably high - Other platforms charge <10bps). bid offer are super high ; range of investment is not as good as some other platforms. Last but not least when transferring my ISA away, (i) I had to liquidate all assets (other platforms offer transfer in specie, not IG), incurring enormous costs (especially for less liquid positions), and (ii) despite the transfer being in cash, it took more than a week to complete (with support telling me they had not received the request, which was not true) bearing very large market risk.

Suits me just fine.. Good platform, tried a few and favour this
Do not deal with IG. I tried to transfer my ISA after learning it converted my US share sale proceeds into UK pounds without my consent. So if I buy US shares again, IG will make money by converting them back into US dollars. My ISA transfer still hasn't gone through after three months, despite providing all the information.
