PayPal themselves are scammers.

Hi. After making any purchase through PayPal, always check your automatic payments list. Following a simple €1 purchase, they can set up a recurring payment of €30 to €70 and charge you immediately. When you open a dispute, PayPal will just tell you that you canceled the monthly subscription after the payment went through, making it your problem. DO NOT USE PAYPAL FOR PAYMENTS!!!!!

I’m Charles

I’m Charles, a dentist, and honestly, I think giving one star is absurd when I consider how everything eventually turned out for me. Still, I want to go straight to the point and share my personal experience because I know how stressful it can be when you suddenly feel like your money is completely out of reach.

For a while, I genuinely thought my money was gone. I had already started preparing myself for the possibility that I might never see those funds again. It was frustrating, confusing, and emotionally exhausting. As someone who works hard for my money, watching it become inaccessible was not something I could simply ignore. I kept asking myself what I could have done differently and whether there was any realistic way forward.

I tried to remain patient and understand what was happening, but the uncertainty made everything worse. Every delay created more doubt, and I became increasingly skeptical about whether anything could actually be done. At that point, I wasn't looking for promises or empty reassurance. I simply wanted a practical solution and, most importantly, access to what belonged to me.

That was when I came across ℝ𝕖𝕤𝕍𝕒𝕩. I approached the situation cautiously because, after everything I had already experienced, I did not want to make another mistake. I took my time, asked questions, and paid attention to the process rather than getting carried away by expectations.

What stood out to me was the assistance I received throughout the process. There were moments when I still had doubts, especially because I had already convinced myself that the money was probably gone. However, I continued following the necessary steps and waited for the outcome.

The moment I finally saw that my funds had been returned, I honestly struggled to believe it. I had prepared myself for disappointment, yet I ended up getting every single dime back. That feeling of relief is difficult to explain. After spending so much time believing I had lost the money permanently, seeing it back was a huge weight lifted from my shoulders.

I am sharing this review simply because it reflects my experience. I know everyone's circumstances are different, so I am not saying that another person's situation will necessarily be identical to mine. What I can say is that, in my case, the experience ended with me receiving my money back.

As a dentist, I deal with people every day, and I understand the importance of trust, patience, and clear communication. My experience was stressful, but the final outcome was something I genuinely appreciated. I hope sharing my story gives anyone facing a similar situation another perspective to consider. Most importantly, I’m grateful that what I had already considered lost was eventually returned to me in full.

No protection online

I've used Paypal for over a decade. Recently got scammed by booking.com for £174. Paypal were no help in recovering the money, lengthy dispute process that made no sense. Total waste of time. Don't use Paypal if you think you'll be protected.

Find PayPal very poor as a company and…

Find PayPal very poor as a company and only agree with sellers even if you provide evidence.
Apparently it's ok for companies online to have a subscription pre ticked in the small print and keep billing and taking payments yet it's illegal to have subscriptions pre ticked.
Second time feel let down by PayPal and will never use again very poor customer service or protection.
If I was anyone reading this I would suggest you close your account and use Klarna as 10 times better company to deal with.

I would like to share some honest feedback about my experience with PayPal.

Personally, I found this experience very disappointing. I had just started a new SaaS business that provides affordable international calling through a website, and my business was still in its very early stage.

I had only two customers and a very small amount of total sales. One customer experienced technical issues and requested a refund. I immediately agreed to provide a full refund and actively contacted PayPal to resolve the customer's issue.

What was extremely disappointing was that PayPal permanently deactivated my account at this very early stage because the business was considered high risk. I understand that international calling and telecom-related businesses may carry additional risks, and I respect PayPal's responsibility to protect its payment network.

However, I believe new startups should be given an opportunity to demonstrate that they can operate responsibly. If there had been repeated disputes, multiple customer complaints, suspicious transactions, or a pattern of problematic activity, I could understand a stronger restriction.

In my case, this happened after only a very small number of transactions, and I was actively trying to refund the customer rather than avoid the refund or keep the customer's money.

I sincerely believe there should be a way for new businesses to address an initial customer issue, demonstrate that the problem has been fixed, and continue under appropriate monitoring before receiving a permanent account closure.

This experience has been extremely discouraging because my business was effectively stopped by the payment processor before I even had the opportunity to properly launch it.

I hope PayPal can consider creating a more gradual approach for legitimate early-stage startups, where businesses are given an opportunity to correct issues and demonstrate responsible behavior before permanent deactivation.

I have had paypal for well over 10…

I have had paypal for well over 10 years always paid my PayPal early but two times in a twelve month span, my checking account got hacked causing my payment to not go thru and they locked my account and charged fees. When calling customer service and requesting a manager refused to fix my account.
I have switched to Discover credit now and they are amazing. They have fantastic customer service and help with any account issues. Good customer service is always a plus and understanding in this day and time hackers are gonna mess your account up alot.

My account is over 10 years old

My account is over 10 years old. I haven't even used it in all that time. Recently, I got the option, but when I went to the website, I found I had some kind of restrictions. They asked for documents, and then blocked me completely. What's the point of blocking an account where NOTHING has ever happened, and without any explanation? It's nonsense. I've never seen worse service! Shameful!

Nebulous PayPal request

I really don't know if they're pretending to be stupid or if they really are stupid. I got a new card from the bank, I properly added it to my account, I deleted the old card, I paid with the new card via paypal without any problems and then paypal blocked my account and asked me to confirm the old card, which no longer exists. I killed myself explaining to them that this is not possible and now they are asking for an official document from the bank (what kind?) that the card does not exist. The banks just gave me a blank look at such a request.

Paypal has been extorting many…

Paypal has been extorting many vulnerable consumers like me, they have twice in supportive of sellers who sells expired cosmetic online. This time it is Kojic Skin Europe. This seller sold cosmetic that will expire in one month to me and the other ones in six months. These cosmetic are 7 in total that will expire between one month of purchased to six months. I contacted the seller for a request for return label because there is no way I will finish the cosmetic in one month as an individual. The reason why I purchased multiple was for stocking, at least for 1 year, since I know that mostly cosmetic expiry date lasted between 2 - 3 or even 5 years. But this seller refused to answer my email for a return label, even though she has been threatening me in the previous email that no cosmetic expiry date lasted 2 years and that she's not going to accept my request for complaint of those one month and six month expiry date. These is a Kojic Acid. It is harmful for human use after certain period. I explained all this to PayPal with evidence of those expiry dates. At first PayPal refunded me for the amount of those cosmetic, then suddenly, they supported the sellers offer at the detriment of consumers wellbeing. This is what PayPal has been doing to vulnerable consumers, because they choose their sellers over consumers. Despite the fact that the seller is selling harmful products to the consumers, PayPal careless about this, they are after profiting over vulnerable consumers. This is uncalled for, the consumers trusted PayPal, but they failed in their responsibility to protects us. I want my refund ASAP for the 7 items in total, I am working hard to make money, not extorting people like PayPal and some of their fake sellers does.

DO NOT USE PAYPAL AS PAYMENT…

DO NOT USE PAYPAL AS PAYMENT OPTION!!!!! It baffles me what the purpose of the resolution team is. I purchased a product (4 itens totalling USD80) and checked out with PayPal. The merchant only supplied 1 product. The lead time to have the original product delivered was lengthy in itself. I raised a dispute and had the merchant contact me asking me to first cancel the dispute made then they would send me the remaining products. PayPal started investigating and requested i get a police report for the incident, or report this to a government agency. I wrote back to PayPal explaining it is not that something was stolen, rather, not all items delivered. PayPal insisted and so I attended the police station with the officer explaining there is no category of crime to place what happened. I then reported the issue to the ACCC as a reference number was needed, which I supplied to PayPal. The response from PayPal was to cancel my resolution and pay the USD80 to the merchant. Where is the consumer protection in that? Why have a resolution centre if you are going to support dodgy practices from businesses. I would suggest customers use other paymemt platforms that would better support them if something goes wrong. Where are the ethical business practices?

AWFUL. EGREGIOUS EVEN.

AWFUL. EGREGIOUS EVEN.

The customer service is just some script filled nonsense, constantly saying the same 5 things over and over. And i dont mean their AI. I mean the same people they outsourced to that dont have emotion or feeling for real people with real problems.

My s/o sent money, FRIENDS AND FAMILY at that. And your system insisted on saying it was an "eCheck"

I even legally got people involved and you guys still refused to do anything.

Absolutely GOD AWFUL service. Usually i'll say "avoid this or that" as a casual statement, but literally go anywhere else. PayPal sucks. Fought for 3 days just to be told to go f*** my self.

After a decade with PayPal

After a decade with PayPal, I am quite disappointed. It seems they favor sellers, allowing them to take the buyer's money without delivering products. Nowadays, when purchasing online, merchants often impose hidden fees that are not disclosed to buyers, and unfortunately, PayPal does little to address this issue. Regrettably, I feel compelled to move away from PayPal, as buyer protection appears to no longer be effective.

I am trying to access my account because when I want to make a payment, my old email address keeps appearing. But I can't access my account because Paypal wants to verify it's me. Paypal wants me to scan my Driver's License and take a picture of my face!!!! This is ridiculous just to verify it's me. Why doesn't it send a code to my phone like any other app??

DO NOT USE!

If you are a business, DO NOT use PayPal Zettle. My experience with this company has been absolutely appalling!! I have used Zettle PayPal for my business for around five years, yet suddenly they claimed my business address had changed when it had not, and told me I needed to update it with Companies House despite my details already being correct. They then claimed I needed to update my bank details, despite nothing having changed at my end and the details being verified repeatedly. The situation has now escalated to the point where PayPal/Zettle is fraudulently holding around £1,000 of my business money and, despite this being ongoing for a week, they are still refusing to release the funds! The way this has been handled is absolutely disgraceful. I am now escalating and making a complaint regarding the handling of my personal data with the Financial Ombudsman Service. I will now be moving my business to Shopify. DO NOT use this disgusting company!

TitPayPal protects deceptive sellers and ignores clear buyer evidencele

Title: PayPal protects deceptive sellers and ignores clear buyer evidence
Review: I am completely done using PayPal after their abysmal handling of a clear merchant issue. On June 16, 2026, I purchased a "Heavy Duty Adjustable Twist Hose Nozzle Jet Sweeper Nozzle" from a company called Plainorth. The advertised price was $35.28, but during the PayPal checkout process, the price illegally changed to $45.86.
When the product arrived on July 8, it leaked heavily and completely failed to perform as a high-pressure nozzle. I contacted the seller on July 13 requesting a full refund and a return label. They refused and only offered a insulting $5 credit.
I filed a formal complaint with PayPal on July 16, fully expecting their "Buyer Protection" to cover me. Instead, on August 23, PayPal emailed me stating they denied my case and sided with the deceptive seller. PayPal does not investigate claims or protect consumers. I will never use their platform again.
