Afternic is good enough for basic use. The only reason I use it is because it syndicates domains to GoDaddy, which helps with exposure. Other than that, I wouldn’t rely on it. The user interface is ve... See more

This company its a total scam!!!
I had listed some domains for sale where they dont do a thing to market it it, nothing at all and by chance one sold and they are taking 30% on the domain , that is crazy one third for NOTHING. I called after being on hold was disconnected twice, I have asked and they horrible customer support claims that is it. I had reason to believe that it would be less since the domain registrars is their company as well (GoDaddy) but it does not matter, any how my domain was release and its already showing at the website of the company who bout it ... I have asked them when the payment will be sent to me, since they have no reason to hold my money, NO RESPONSE! im waiting to get my funds and close the account with them, I dont want to get ripped off again.
UPDATE:
NOW they that I posted this review they want to learn more and but ignored my calls and emails. Now they will probably also try to get this review removed as most companies do.
RESPONSE TO AFTERNIC:
YES I AGREE WITH CHARGING A COMMISSION OF COURSE YOU ARE NOT CHARITY BUT 30% OF THE TOTAL SALE TO DO NOTHING!!! AND LATER SIT ON THE SELLERS FUNDS FOR NO REASON, BOTH UNACCEPTABLE!

My domain names just migrated from Dan.com to Afternic, because Dan.com is merged with Afternic.
I can say it's so slow. Dan was so professional and had fascinating experiences with them.
Cannot believe Afternic is a GoDaddy's brand. It's like my WordPress website on a cheap shared hosting.
When you scroll down, your domains will disappear, you have to wait for a while for them to be loaded haha.
There are not enough filters.
No filter for domain extensions,
No estimated value column,
No column for listed/unlisted domain names,
and several other important filters.
The one thing that I like about Afternic, is the simplicity. Generally the template is similar to Dan. I hope they adopt the Dan's UX. It would be great.

I sold my domain through Afternic. It's already 22 days but I did not receive my payout.
I contacted the support more than 10 times. but no solution till the moment.
I hope they speedup the process and send me the payout.

My experience with Afternic has been nothing short of frustrating. Their platform is outdated, and the support is practically non-existent. I've reached out multiple times regarding simple issues, and each time, I was either ignored or given unhelpful, generic responses that did nothing to solve my problems.
One of the biggest disappointments is that Afternic doesn't support domain push—something that should be a basic feature on any modern domain marketplace. Instead, they use a convoluted process that wastes time and causes unnecessary delays. For a company that's supposed to be an industry leader, it's shocking how behind the times they are.
If you're looking for a reliable platform with decent support and modern features, look elsewhere. Afternic just isn't worth the hassle.
Till now i don't understand why they put their focus in terminating Dan instead of improving Afternic

Unfortunately, the technical support on this platform is very bad and catastrophic. They are slow to respond to the issues we face, especially when it comes to fast transfers within the platform itself. Honestly, the company has treated us poorly as users of this platform.
I was initially very optimistic about the integration of DAN’s features into Afternic, but there are still complications with the push process. It’s not as seamless as expected, and support has become noticeably slower. There's definitely room for improvement in streamlining the experience.

As buyer as seller Afternic is a Bad company, it severely lacks fast support and transaction speed, delays in receiving money, and does not support push, we need Dan

Reply from Afternic
As a seller and buyer, I do not recommend Afternic. It is late in everything, in receiving the domain and in the money, and it does not support the Push feature like Dan.

22nd of Oct update:
Nobody contacted me after I submitted the documents they requested, No payout, it is has been 22 days since my domain name was transferred to the buyer.
16th of Oct update:
My broker from godaddy called Afternic to ask about the progress. They said they need a copy of my passport to send the payment. Why didn’t they inform me directly instead of just saying, 'We are working on your payout'? I provided the document, and it has now been 16 days since my domain name was transferred to the buyer.
15th of Oct Update:
I received an email from afternic saying they are still working on my inquiry but never mention what the problem is. Ridiculous!!! It has been 15 days since my domain name transferred to buyer.
14th of Oct Update:
Nobody has contacted me for any update on my funds, and it has been 14 days since my domain name was transferred to buyer. Afternic is totally a scam!!!
They are still silent when the issue is posted here. What a shame!!!
I sold my domain name, smallgrouptours.com, through Afternic on October 1st. The broker confirmed that I was to receive a net payment of $4,000, yet I later received an email from Afternic stating that only $3,500 had been remitted to my account.
I immediately contacted Afternic to clarify that the correct amount is $4,000. However, despite 11 days having passed since the domain was transferred to the buyer, I have not received any payment. I have repeatedly reached out to Afternic, but each time I am met with the same response—that they are "working on my payout"—with no indication of when I can expect to receive my funds.
I finally realized this is a scam, especially considering that Afternic has already received payment from the buyer. Based on numerous similar complaints from other users, it appears that this issue is not isolated. I am deeply concerned that I have fulfilled my obligations by transferring the domain, yet I have not been paid.
I strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution when dealing with Afternic.

I recently sold a domain (beautifulballs.com) and am getting the run-around for payment on this sale that occurred over a month ago. I have contacted Afternic by phone several times (with no results except they're "working on getting funds released"). If the domain has been sold, Afternic has received their commission and payment for the domain, and the domain has been transferred successfully, WHAT IS THERE TO WORK ON? Afternic states a 1-3 day payout after domain transfer but that is a lie. Numerous messages to a TA agent have gone unanswered as well. Customer service is AWFUL. Afternic is simply a horrible company to deal with.

I put a domain for sale with Afternic. Someone bought it, the domain was transferred asap, and the transfer was marked as complete and was live with the new owner very fast. Now more than 30 days have gone by and a payment has still not been scheduled.
I've contacted them multiple times, through the TA agent and general support. No justification or adequate help was given.
Basically they just took my domain, sold it to someone and left me without payment.
I wish I could give 0 stars.
Edit 1: they replied here saying they sent me an email through Trustpilot. I didn't receive any communication, either in email or in Trustpilot.
Edit 2: Afternic has finally released the payment. Shame that it took so long and only after many communication attempts and posting here. Can finally put this behind. In the end the situation was resolved, but I would expect better communication, if not faster payment. Updating my vote to 2 stars.

I sold my domain instalador.com on Afternic in August, and more than a month later, I am still waiting for payment. Despite collecting all the funds from the sale and charging me a steep 15% commission, Afternic has failed to send me my portion of the proceeds.
Three weeks ago, after multiple follow-ups on my part, they promised to investigate the delay. However, I received no updates and had to contact them again. They eventually scheduled my payment for September 19, but that date came and went, and no payment arrived. Since then, I’ve reached out to them numerous times, but Afternic has gone completely silent. This lack of communication and failure to fulfill their obligations is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.
Afternic’s service has been nothing short of disappointing, and I would not recommend this platform to anyone. Their high commission is unjustifiable, especially when they cannot even follow through on basic transactions. Until they resolve this issue, I will continue to speak out about my experience. Buyers and sellers alike should be cautious about using Afternic, as my trust in them has been completely eroded.
UPDATE:
Following my initial review, Afternic responded publicly, claiming they wanted to better understand my experience and requesting additional information. However, this response feels like a generic message they send to all unsatisfied customers in an effort to appear as though they are addressing the issue – which they clearly are not.
I’ve already provided all the necessary details, including my name, customer number 101438615, and the domain instalador.com that was sold. There’s no need for more information. The issue is simple: Afternic and GoDaddy have failed to process an ACH payment for over a month now, despite my bank details being correct. If you need to “better understand” the situation after having the domain name, customer number, my up-to-date banking information, and knowing that you’re late on a payment, you probably shouldn’t be in the customer service business. Their lack of transparency and ineffective communication only adds to the frustration. It feels like they are stalling and hiding behind vague responses instead of addressing the root cause of the problem.
It’s hard not to question their competence – or worse, their solvency – when they cannot execute such a basic financial transaction. I’m deeply disappointed in how this situation has been handled and would advise others to think twice before using Afternic or GoDaddy for domain sales.

I sold "fitme.ai" through Afternic on the 4th of September and I still did NOT receive the payment for it.
The Afternic team contacted me on the 27th of August 2024 to inform me that my domain has sold and that I needed to manually complete the transfer. Whenever there was a problem (like removing certain protections from my GoDaddy account), I was always prompt to respond, solve the problem, and let them know. All within minutes, not hours or days, but minutes.
After the domain was transferred successfully and the company who bought the domain started using it, Afternic stoped responding to my emails. Their last email reads as follows: "Hello, Thank you for informing us, we are working on scheduling your payout." That payout is still not scheduled.
After this, I have asked them countless times to reply to my emails. I have given them all the details as to where they should transfer my funds, which are long overdue.
Today is the 23rd of September 2024 and I have yet to hear from them. A total SCAM.
Perhaps it's fine to buy domains from them, but selling domains with the "help" of Afternic is a complete nightmare. Stay away at all costs.
||UPDATE||:
After posting this review they finally contacted me swiftly and sent me the funds within a few days. Judging by the rest of these reviews here, this is the only way to make sure you receive your funds: complain as much as you can everywhere. I will still leave this 1-star review here, the whole process was a nightmare.
