Used to be a great opticians with excellent service when Mr Ashworth owned it, until it went under new ownership!
The general pracitce is tatty and run down with empty racks and virtually no frames in stock.
Always demanding to take photos of back of the eye to boost revenue.
The receptionist never answers the phone despite being sat next to it.
Time to change opticians.
Thought I would try Healdgreen Opticians as Local to me . I arrived on time . I was told the test for the photos of the back of the eye were £35 ( I paid £10 at my other Opticians)and thought this was expensive . I then had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. Finally got started and the Optician was sneezing and full of a cold ( I have a immune problem) so I said my Thankyous and left. Bad experience for me unfortunately
Sadly Ashworths is no longer under the management or control of the now retired Mr and Mrs Ashworth. Since November 2022, I’ve been in and out of the Heald Green shop having been tested and re-tested in order to get my prescription right without success. The final straw was me receiving a birthday text message for my dearly departed father who died 7 years ago. The incompetency of the staff holds no bounds. I will not be returning to Ashworths and feel that the good name is being badly let down. 0/10 for effort.
Used to be good opticians untill it changed hands, do not trust
My husband and I have been going to Ashworths for over 40 years, we use to see Mr Ashworth senior and we now see Ian, we would not go any where else. The service is excellent nothing is to much trouble. Can not recommend them highly enough.
Have used Ashworth Opticians for many years now, the service is always brilliant from the booking of appointments to fitting of spectacles / lenses and after-care.
