Superb service, helpful and friendly
I would highly recommend using the Trail angels booking service if you decide to hike the Alpe Adria Trail. It really takes all the stress out of booking accommodation and avoids you needing to carry heavy gear. Bettina at Trail angels booked the first half of my six week trek along the Alpe Adria Trail. They booked all my accommodation for the Austrian stretch of the trip, my luggage transport and personal taxi transfers. From the start they were helpful answering my questions; prompt in making arrangements; accurate in meeting my requirements; helpful when Covid scuppered my original plans for 2020, enabling me to defer the trip for two years without losing a penny, co-ordinated perfectly with their Italian counterpart who organised the remainder of the trip (the join was seamless), and answered my questions (in English) about routing while on the trail itself . I highly recommend them.

Again, another fabulous experience in the good hands of AAT !
This was our second AAT trip. When Covid travel restrictions came into play we had to change the booking three times over ~20 months. At each and every change the AAT "Tail Angels" handled everything with a smile and a level of personal service (a name at the bottom of every email)
This year we did 8 nights / 5 stages (7-11) and everything was pitch-perfect.
Each hotel pin clean and exactly as described, the hosts and hoteliers so welcoming. If it is your first time, have no doubts...AAT is a true treasure, hiking heaven.

Stages 1 to 6, September 2020
The booking website is easy to handle and gives you all the details you need to plan your hike. The chat functionality was also helpful to raise spontaneous questions. We did stages 1 to 6 in September 2020 and booked the basic accomodations. All of the selected accomodations met our expectations and we will use the trail angels for the next stages again.

Nice with angels to help
We had a great time walking the first 9 stages. We made some changes in the planning during the walk. But we just called the angels and they took care of our wishes. Everything was nice and all the hotels was a pleasure to stay in.
We will be back!

The only problem was missing our train…
The only problem was missing our train after our last night at Seeboden. We had to rebook our train to Budapest and lost our first class seats and booking fee. The hiking, accommodations and mapping were great. A couple of thoughts to consider however. The trail signs were not always easy to locate or follow. It was as though they were sometimes placed so locals could understand them more easily than visitors. Another thought would be to consider a more varied menu. We had half board most of the time and were most often offered pork—which was fine, except that it became repetitive. At least two choices for entree would be better.

there are a few spots where extra signage would help.
accomodation was excellent in all cases but 1 the Hotel Garni Buchenhof close to Veldon was hard to find and there was nobody there to help us find a dinner place and it was quite dirty and definately not cleaned to normal standards.

Not about hikers it’s just business.
We spend the first 7 stages with Trail Angels and our experience was that they are nice but the accommodations what they recommend is not the best what you can have if you make it for your own way and we didn’t get 2 transfer what we were paid for in advance but they didn’t give us compensation or any refund. So the next 7 stages we organized for ourselves and in the end we got 4 stars hotels a very good quality and taxi luggage transfer and we spent 40% less than with Trail Angels agency.

First-class service!
Very informative and detailed website, and exceptionally helpful booking centre 'Angels', who put together a fantastic fortnight's trail for us, with no issue too trivial to deal with promptly. Excellent friendly and comfortable accommodation with good breakfasts (some superb!), no matter which type or level (we used all 3 levels). Our luggage was always waiting for us in the evening on arrival and all transfers worked efficiently and promptly. All in all, a first-class service.
