Booths service freed me from shopping stress
As a vulnerable adult I ordered a grocery box from Booths.
The girl on the phone was patient and lovely.
It arrived yesterday and delivered by Paul , who kept his distance and was so charming and helpful.
The contents far outweighed my expectations.
This service has freed me from worry about ‘ how to shop’
Thank you Booths 🌺🌸🌺
Very good new service
Our experience (first time) of ordering online then collecting the order from Booths Lytham was excellent. This was a service for the vulnerable and over 70's and we much appreciated it today as we are in this group and self isolating and getting food in this situation is difficult.
Lois who loaded the bags in the car was helpful and friendly and we didn't need to get out at all
We managed to place the order successfully yesterday and hope to do the same again in a week's time. However we are concerned that we might not get a slot when we need more food. We would like Booths to offer as many slots as possible so we can be sure of replenishing our stocks.
Thanks for the service

I am not a Booths shopper but decided to call in today. I was pleasantly surprised with the organisation of the staff. The shelves filled in abundance and the pleasant staff. The shelve stockers were actually smiling and have a much needed banter with the customers and each other at this difficult time. I strolled round getting everything I needed without stress and frustration. Was greeted at the till with more smiling faces and hand sanitizer. It was surreal after other experiences when out shopping.Ive certainly become a convert.
Booth's Chorley
We went into Booth's today two carers and a service user to buy toilet rolls, We purchased a pack of 4 toilet rolls each, when we got to the checkout we was told we can only buy a four pack each. And the service user couldn't make her own purchase, A member of staff took one of the four packs of toilet roll from the carers hands. We where only given the toilet rolls back when I said to the staff member this is discrimination

I am writing about the cafe in “Booths Ripon” , as someone who has been using the Cafe since the store opened i am disgusted at the cleanliness of this once immaculate place.
It is well over 1 year ago forwhatever reason they lost their cleaning staff, they have never been replaced and its lucky to get the cafe cleaned once a week, the litter under and on the tables beggers belief..
I have never seem anyone ever clean the tables ( i am normally one of the 1st people on the store at 8am most mornings.
With the advent of this new virus nothing had changed here!
The 1st manager was amazing , now it seems to be rapidly going downhill fast

I love Booths
I love Booths. It's a good northern alternative to Waitrose and M&S for special food items. I mostly use the one in Garstang for the fresh sourdough bread, and things like banana shallots, smoked garlic, cavolo nero and a variety of chillies/mushrooms not available in other local shops hereabouts. I buy the brands of Greek olive oil and apple cider vinegar I prefer, and fish canned in oil instead of tomato sauce. There's a wide range of olives/tomatoes and condiments. I love the locally grown produce, which they seem to champion including potatoes and tomatoes, and the wide range of fresh/packed cheese especially Lancashire cheeses from local makers, Singleton's whey cream butter, Beech's chocolates (made in Preston). My favourite coffee (beans or ground) is a booths own brand. The Cumberland sausage from the meat counter is tasty. They use a thin skin but a spiral done in the oven holds it shape even if it splits.
I wouldn't normally do a regular shop here because the stuff you can get in Sainsbury's as well e.g. cleaning products, pet supplies, toiletries, basics like flour, sugar, baked beans etc is cheaper there. I often buy items when they are on offer.
The checkout staff are usually very nice, especially the Welsh chap, but usually there is a queue as most of the checkouts are closed. That's what loses a star.
When my car's in for service or repairs I go early into the café upstairs for a leisurely read with a large cup of the best fresh coffee with a dollop cream before doing the shopping.
I'm very aware of food hygiene so wonder if the reviewer who thinks she got 'E.coli sepsis' from this shop notified it to the Food Standards Agency as there are no reports of such an incident that I can find.

Recently bought lamb shoulder at the Ulverston store and it was very disappointing to say the least.
It was lacking in flavour and not very tender. I normally buy my meat from an independent butcher near Southport which is where I live. The Booths meat was not a patch on my butchers and I would never buy it again.
Terrible Company
I’m an ex-employee who worked for the company for nearly 9 years.
I had the pleasure of working with some great colleagues and managed to make 1 lifelong friend who is a large part of my life.
I also had a professional and friendly relationship with many of my customers. This though, I am afraid, is where the positives end.
As a company who are meant to be “people focused” I can truly say that it is one of the very worst companies I have ever worked for in my entire life.
The first 3 years did indeed go very well, but years 4 to 9 just got worse and worse at a steadily increasing speed.
You are not treated as a person, but a number. But that’s not the worst of it.... Bullying is absolutely rife throughout management and team leaders.
No matter what idea you come up with, it is more often than not brushed off as “not Booths policy” or “that’s not how we do it” (remembering that this is a company that supposedly celebrates new ideas and praises those who show initiative) Nothing could be further from the truth. Also the 5 company core values are a much shared joke between many employees.
If you yourself have a high standard of organisation and cleanliness but others didn’t, it didn’t seem to matter for them, but if you dropped your standard as a one off due to having too much to do, you would be pounced on, when I pointed out this fact, it just got shrugged off.
Working for this company had a massively negative effect on my mental health. (there were 3 other colleagues effected in the same way) It got to the point where I was off from work quite a few times due to constant malicious behaviour from a team leader. I just could not cope any longer with the manipulativeness and hostile environment mainly instigated by this one individual.
Yes, you might think I’m exaggerating this to strengthen my review or that I brought the nastiness on myself. But nothing could be further from the truth.
When I mentioned these and other equally serious issues to higher management, it was suggested to me that I could sit down with the manager and team leader to discuss the effect that it was all having on me, which I thought could have been positive and helpful. But it never happened, it kept getting cancelled.
If you can at all avoid working for Booths and you don’t want to dread going into a hostile work environment (to the point of vomiting on your way to your shift) then, please please, find another option, you will be so thankful you didn’t choose to be employed by Booths.

St.Annes store management aggressive and argumentative!! Female Manager squared up to me right in my face asked her to leave me alone she wouldn’t! Embarrassing when in front of your son and girlfriend. Booths loss
Booths at Longridge is a lovely store
Booths at Longridge is a lovely store, friendly staff and good choice of products. Always clean and pleasant to visit.
For a treat
I really enjoy shopping at Booths St Annes. They are full of surprises from their amazing gin and cider collections to a hot food counter that means the builder working at my house can still get a Saturday bacon butty even when I haven't got a kitchen. Their staff are helpful, their loos are clean, their chuck-out is legend. Most of the time I slum it at Tesco, or make do with Aldi. But, if I want a treat, Booths is where I go.
Great choice
unwelcoming
First time into a Booths store on Sunday at Keswick on recommendation after being told the fresh kebabs were worth buying however none left so returned today Monday 25th.
Approached the butcher and asked if any kebabs at 12:30 and he said he would have some in an hour even though he was preparing them and had a tray full at the side of him. We said ok will visit the town and come back in an hour to which he replied he might have some left !
Not wanting to miss out we asked if he would save four for us if that was the case or let us have them now but he said no come back in an hour. Rather sullen and unfriendly and made us feel like a nuisance.
At that point we decided this guy is clearly not happy for some reason so left the store and went to a butchers at the other end of town where we spent £30 on meat and had service with a smile.
I can only say this was my first visit to Booths and if that is the attitude towards customers then I won’t be returning. Really not impressed at the level of customer service which in such competitive times isn’t particularly good.

Really nice experience at their Carnforth store on Sunday
Very nice checkout assistant that had the time to talk to my elderly mother who is in a wheelchair and usually "invisible" to store staff
Many thanks

Hiring the right people
Booths seems to have a knack for hiring checkout people with a bad and rude attitude with their body languages implying that they’re above the job they were doing. I’ve encountered that kind of staff twice at Booths. One of the two cases was in the Keswick store. In both cases, the checkout people were very young men. As soon as noticing me, a mute and longish stare at me with no smile. Then never looked at me again as if I was not existing there. With a customer in front, busy chatting with other staff. What was most infuriating was the way both of these ill-mannered young men in the two different stores handed over the receipt to me: handing my receipt slid between his extended forefinger and middle finger. Is that an acceptable manner now? In my generation, such body language was considered very rude. In the old days I might have noticed people using such gestures to their subordinates, never to their customers.
Not all staff at Booths were that rude as the aforementioned two very young men with above average looks. The nicer and polite staff that made me come back there again and again were all older people. I meant to write this review a few months ago. The checkout people I have referred to may or may not be still working there. I do not think checkout people’s good looks or their higher education on their curricula vitae are not the contributing elements that bring people to a grocery store repeatedly. If there is any chance that I have to encounter such rude staff again at Booths, I’d rather buy my groceries somewhere else where shopping is not stressful.
Lagging Behind now.
Its such a shame Booths seems to be struggling. The Fulwood store still has great staff, still has good quality food (although it's more difficult to find it sometimes) but whoever is in charge of the special offers needs re-training. Went in this week for a sandwich. They were always really good but expensive. I was fine with this. The range had diminished and they were running a 4 for £2 deal. Perhaps it was just me but I couldn't work out 4 of what? and then work out what was excluded, and then work out where it all was. I bolted and went to Greggs. Sorry.
I am sort of viewing Booths now as 'OK if you are close by' when I should be thinking 'Booths what a treat'
Regarding there St Annes Store
Regarding there St Annes Store, the Staff are so Miserable, they never smile, they can be rude and not very helpful. I do like the food at Booths, but the service puts you of..
