Bait and Switch - deceit and lies from Customer Service

I ordered Glenlivet 18 after seeing the picture and reading the description for the product. The older version label with and description of 43 ABV were both shown. After placing the order I followed up with an email stating that I DO NOT WANT the 40 ABV product. Customer Service responded, acknowledged that I ordered the 43 ABV version and proceeded to place the order. After weeks of delays what I got was exactly what I said I did not want, the 40 ABV version. I immediately contacted them and they are refusing to accept a return. I have disputed the charge with my bank. I am writing letters to BBB and to the State Attorney General for fraudulent business practices. AVOID THIS COMPANY! The are not reputable and will deceive, lie and then refuse a refund for an item that was not ordered.

This is not legit they are an order…

This is not legit they are an order house only ! I took over a month to get and when it arrived it was not what I ordered . You will never reach anyone in Customer Service but IF you do expect a string of lies ! This place is know. As scammers do not order from here !!!!

Promises a Fast Experience, Gives you Something Else

There's quite a few 5-star reviews here. In one review, the reviewer says, "Sure... They're slow. Want something fast? Go to a liquor store". I agree with his sentiment, but there's a limit.

During the ordering process, CaskCartel is providing you some feedback on how quickly you can expect to see your order ship. For me, during the ordering process, it was 3-5 days to ship, and then however long the product was in transit.

I set up my first two orders on December 14th. These were destined to family members and one order has arrived. Today is January 4th, and my second order is nowhere to be seen.

I set up one last order on December 16th. I suspected that wouldn't arrive by Christmas, but it was for my son-in-law, and I figured it'd arrive before New Year's Eve so he could enjoy it.

Wrong again. On January 1st, I wrote the company telling them to cancel any orders that hadn't shipped yet, and to just refund my remaining balances back to my card...

THIS is where a poorly ran company becomes a TERRIBLY DISHONEST company. A customer service rep smugly emails me to consult their Cancellation \ Return Policy. They don't care if an order is never processed, packaged, and shipped. They have your money, and they're not letting go.

They'll tell you that you have to wait 30 days, and only then will a refund be processed if the product hadn't shipped yet.

Worse. On the order I created for my Son-in-Law on December 16th, CaskCartel had the gaul to email me today to say, "Our vendor didn't receive his shipment of your required bottle - You can either get this bottle from another vendor for $45 more; or... You can sit tight and you'll get it when you get it; or... We can give you store credit that you can use on another purchase...

I wrote with the following message:

"...According to your own Cancellation \ Return Policy:

"Only if a licensed retailer fails to fulfill and ship your order within 30-days does it qualify for refund."

Also according to your own Cancellation \ Return Policy:

"Once and order has been received/confirmed/paid there is a NO REFUND POLICY. Orders are distributed to local licensed retailers and once items have been ordered the fulfillment process begins and we cannot stop, change, or hold orders."

Option #1 - that you offer is essentially changing my order, and raising the price. That is unacceptable according to your own policy in place.

Option #2 - Providing excuses why you can not fulfill my order within the 30-day shipping window sounds like a CaskCartel problem to me. Fix your own house, and don't involve me with your problems.

Option #3 - As evidenced by my earlier emails, I think I have made it abundantly clear that I am NOT going to be a returning customer. Offering me credit to start this whole process over again is unacceptable.

I am not interested in half measures taken at the 3 week mark to reset the clock on this order. If my order, for this specific item at the agreed upon price is NOT delivered within the next 12 days, I will want a full refund of my money credited back onto the card upon which it was charged.

That is the 4th option you failed to mention. However, it is the option that I will seek if my order is not correctly satisfied within the already draconian rules that your company uses against customers..."

Just UNBELIEVABLE the GALL of this company!!!

What would I recommend they do?

1. Stop acting as if you're an online liquor store. You're not. You're a middleman drug runner shuttling money and drugs between dealers and customers.

2. Stop pretending that orders are delivered quickly as if you're the Amazon of Online Liquor distributors. It's pretty cheesy that during the ordering process, people are presented with "estimated ship times" of 3 to 5 days, but the emailed receipt they get after the order is locked in (and they can't get a refund) states that covid and other issues may impact that rapid shipping estimate. Really dishonest.

So... I'll give CaskCartel 2 stars for eventually getting their product to customers. They'll just do it at their own good time. If you order for a specific event? Do so months in advance.

I see a lot of negative reviews

I see a lot of negative reviews, and was discouraged after my order was not fulfilled immediately. However it all worked out well, it was fine.
First let me say this, if you want booze now, go to a liquor store, use Instacart or just go to a bar.
This is my experience :
I ordered 4 bottles of Slingsby Gin, that is generally not available anywhere in the USA. It is not exported widely. I have been to Harrogate, and truly enjoyed these gins, and wanted to have them in my home for my mother’s visit, as she is an older British woman, who loves her G&T.
I waited about 3.5 weeks and it showed up. Not cheap, not fast, but I got something that I cannot get anywhere that I know of, in America.
I contacted customer service after reading bad reviews, but they were all very nice and polite. Generally helpful, and gave me the information they could.
I would recommend Cask Cartel based on my experience of getting something that I really cannot get anywhere, and I sincerely thank them for getting this to me. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING THAT you cannot get easily, and can be a little patient, then it will work out.

Ordered 12/7 and it’s now 12/22

Ordered 12/7 and it’s now 12/22. First time I contacted them they advised they have up to 10 biz days to fulfill order, when that passed they said 30 days, which is what PayPal gives to file a claim. The won’t cancel the order and refund my money so I guess I’ll wait their 30days. Will never use them again.

Would Recommend Cask Cartel to Everyone

After I placed my order I then checked reviews. I was VERY nervous about placing my order. That being said I would highly recommend Cask Cartel. Order was easy to place I received many updates on my order. Received my order today in great condition.

This place is a scam

This place is a scam!

They send you nothing. Do not answer phone calls or reply to emails. When I got my credit card company involved they sure were able to respond to them. Even after the credit card dispute was decided (twice!) in their favor, they tried to get more money out of me.
I’m happy to report Chase gave me a courtesy credit so I was not out the money. However Chase still paid this scam artist.

They sent me the wrong bottle. No even close to what I ordered!!! I sent back the bottle and haven’t heard anything else from them and still haven’t received they bottle I ordered or got a refund

Order placed 10/14/2021 - has not shipped!

I placed order for gift 10/14/2021. Order still has not shipped almost 2 weeks later. I asked for refund & was told all sales are final. I asked to speak to manager & was told no one was available & I would get a call back. The customer service people were yelling & laughing in the background so I could barely hear the person I was speaking to. Completely unprofessional- I will NEVER order from this site again.

The shipping is so slow

The shipping is so slow. Do not order from here if you need your product before a certain date. I got an email saying item shipped label created,, that was a month ago. Will be my last time ordering from cask cartel.

Buyer Beware

I mistakenly placed an order for an incorrect product, and after immediately recognizing it, I requested to cancel shortly after placing it in the COVID recovery environment. With no concern for my satisfaction, a rep (Skilyn) responded defiantly and refused to consider my request by pointing to the fine print in their purchase agreement. Plus, their prices are super high compared to other online retailers.

Also, their allowance is 30 days to receive a product after placing an order, so I would not trust them for any holiday orders. I regret attempting my order.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service! My first order with them was great. My second and last order with them has been a horrible experience. Complete bait and switch style company. They are refusing to refund me my money on an order that never shipped. Stating that I agreed to a no refund policy. Stay away, they are crooks!

Not worth it

Not worth it, find another provider. The order was partially delivered with months of delay, which I understood given the situation. They run out of the product and the gave me a voucher to use online, fine. It turned out to be a discount only applicable in orders higher than $150. Now (almost 1 year after the order) they have the product back in stock and not only they refuse to send me the missing product, but they don't want to give the money back or a valid voucher. In addition, the costumer service tried to lie and say the order was 100% delivered. Luckily I keep all the emails.

Very Happy With Cask Cartel

Although Cask Cartel has received a number of negative reviews in Trustpilot, my experience with them was stellar. I don't mind saying that after reading the Trustpilot reviews, I was not a little apprehensive. I ordered two bottles of specialty bourbon which I was unable to obtain locally. Although Cask Cartel was quite expensive, I received both bottles by FedEx ground within three days of my order. The communication from Cask Cartel was excellent, appraising me of each step of the process of fulfilling and shipping my order. I don't normally provide reviews, but my experience with them was as good as any vendor I have dealt with for shipping wine or liquor.
