Saved by Reviews: Avoiding Another Scam

I’ve learned from past scams that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Now, I always check the legitimacy of websites on Google before making any decisions. Thanks to your reviews, I just saved £2! 😊

Keep away from these lowlife scammers

I was also offered "free" hotel style pillows for just the £2 postage fee. The company was allegedly either Travelodge or Premier Inn I cannot remember exactly.
As I use both of them regularly I took it to be genuine. What an idiot! I have lost over £300 however, my credit card company said I may be able to get some of it back. It comes down to the old adage "if it looks too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

Scam Codenary +DealPedia linked for payments.

Definitely a scam. I got a” free “juice bottle for £2 postage via fb link ( I know…) . Paid the amount and got sent to another area to pay again which I didn’t do and lost the page to the juice bottle freebie.
I then went to check my bank account and saw that codenary.com had taken the £2.

I had taken screenshots of the product I thought I was getting and they are called Dealpedia their website wegwe.org. I put them into a scammer page and they are definitely a fake company set up in April.
I managed to actually speak to a woman with a U.S. accent at codenary and she sent me a cancellation notification and claimed they know nothing about this other “ company” as they only deal with digital products not physical products. I sent them screenshots and I’ve now been unable to call again, it gets cut off.
They said they have refunded my £2 but it hasn’t reflected yet and they have unsubscribed me, so that’s worth 1 star I guess.

As previously reported this is not a legitimate business. I fell for the same Screwfix scam, was charged £2 'postage' for a free backpack via the codenery payment portal, then prompted for a further payment, at which point the penny dropped. To my surprise I got a welcome email saying I'd subscribed to their services, with a renewal of 40 odd quid!
I contacted their support email address but going by the responses it's clearly automated/AI. I don't trust I've been unsubscribed as they have said, it's a blatant scam.
Avoid!

Scam company

This company runs a scam whereby they put up surveys for reputable brands (like Screwfix) and at the end of the survey tell you that you have won a free prize and just have to pay a nominal sum for postage. This nominal sum actually goes towards a short trial for their subscription service at the end of which you will be billed a much larger amount for ongoing subscription
