Lovely welcoming hotel

Lovely welcoming hotel , the team on the desk on the days we stayed 27th and 28Th were just wonderful , so helpful, polite and welcoming , the food in the restaurant called Carriages is brilliant , the hotel is very clean and tidy and well kept . the atmosphere is very relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for the team, I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again without doubt.

The Devon Hotel is NOT wheelchair accessible.

Booked the Devon hotel due to its availability of wheelchair accessible bedroom and dining facilities. The bedroom was ok and the wet room was very good.
The route to the dining area was about 150m which required use of the wheelchair on a minor road which was used for hotel parking making it rather dangerous. Wheelchair access was via a very steep pitted driveway (often with vehicles parked on it) which was ca 10 m length with an estimated 1:3 slope. On our 3rd day, my wheelchair tipped backwards causing an arm injury (though luckily not hitting my skull) and rendering the facilities inaccessible for the rest of our stay. After cleaning myself up, we reported the incident to the Deputy GM whose attitude was a disgrace claiming he could "only do something if it was reported immediately which of course is nonsense. My sense is that he was showing off to the girls in the office. At no point did he ask if I was ok or whether a Dr was required The next day I spoke to the GM who had a more professional manner, apologised etc and told me of future planned improvements, recognising that that did not actually help me.
No partial refund or complimentary in room meal was offered.
Noone in a wheelchair should attempt to access the dining and bar facilities at the Devon until further notice. It is downright dangerous and as the Management now know this, they are 'complicit in fault' in case of another wheelchair incident.

We recently had the privilege of…

We recently had the privilege of photographing a wedding at the Devon Hotel in Exeter, and we must say, it was an exceptional experience. The hotel has always had a reputation for outstanding cuisine and luxury accommodation, and it exceeded our expectations in every way.

The executive rooms and state of the art fitness suite take the experience of staying at the Devon Hotel to a whole new level. The rooms were spacious and luxurious, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that made it easy for the couple and their guests to relax and enjoy their stay. The hotel is situated in a Georgian manor house, which provides a charming and historic backdrop that adds to the overall experience.

The location of the Devon Hotel is perfect for a city break or business trip. It is situated in the heart of South Devon and right on the doorstep of the vibrant city of Exeter. Whether the couple was looking for a rural coast or countryside break or an intimate city escape, the hotel had everything right on its doorstep.

The leading events venue at the Devon Hotel made for the perfect backdrop for the wedding. The venue was spacious and elegant, providing the perfect setting for the ceremony and reception. The staff was professional and attentive, and they made sure every last detail was taken care of to ensure that the wedding was perfect. The couple was able to celebrate their big day in style, and the memories they made will last a lifetime.

In conclusion, we highly recommend the Devon Hotel in Exeter for anyone looking for a luxurious and exceptional wedding venue. The staff, accommodation, and events venue were top-notch, and the couple was able to celebrate their big day in style. The memories they made will last a lifetime, and we are grateful to have been a part of their special day.

Kindest regards,
The Kensington Photographer
