If I could give them minus stars I would. I thought I was dealing directly with the hotel because of the interface of their website. When I saw the booking fees of nearly €150 I cancelled - within 2 m... See more

Getaroom is a spoof site
I was in the actual website for the hotel. When I went to pay without knowing I was tricked into using getaroom.com! The price was double what I wanted to pay. I did not even confirm my purchase and still the money was taken. I really fast cancelled the booking but I still did not get a refund which is of more than €1000! Now our Valentin's day is ruined as I will not pay another cent before I get back my money!
Absolute scam artists
Absolute scam artists! One star is too much. Completely misled me to believe I was booking with the hotel directly, lied and said there was only one room left and I must give a card to secure it and afterwards he could answer the questions, he immediately billed my card and scammed an extra £200 booking fee, I immediately advised I did not want to proceed with this booking and was advised it would not be possible to have any refund, companies like this should be struck off! Absolute dishonest frauds
TOTAL SCAM COMPANY
This company is a total SCAM. I had the same experience as many others. Thought I was booking on the hotels official site Booked the room. Price Instantly doubled plus some extra $242.31 booking fees!!! First felt sick to my stomach as my credit card had already had the amount taken, couldn’t be stopped ! Tried to contact phone number straight away, funny enough no luck. Contacted the hotel all within minutes. They(the hotel) contacted the scammers who agreed to a full refund we had to wait for the third party to do the refund!!!! This could take they said up to 2 weeks🤷♀️ With this guaranteed I rebooked the more appropriate room for my disabled mother as we were staying the following week, and the refund still wasn’t received. Two months later and they are now declining to refund me the $850.31 Without the REFUND GUARANTEED at the start I won’t have cancelled the room, as we still payed to stay and eat so all up the 2 nights cost me over $1300!!! Not including breakfast. I’m absolutely appalled with their business model and can’t believe they are still allowed to rob hard working people of funds they don’t have. It’s a absolute disgrace, this company has no morals whatsoever and should shut down!!! Sadly it’s all too late as you will have already been robbed
SCAM cretins GETAROOM.COM
Like do many other i have been charged €75 fees on a hotel booking.for 1 night
Website looked like Hotel official website.
In seconds the options of room for €133 debited my card with €206. Total instant scam said i could cancel immediately 🥲 but it was taken instantly …. Horrible horrible shower of cretins.
How do we get them closed down ….
Fraudulent
As with other reviews. Set out to book a room in Stockholm, came to the confirmation page where 93 Euro in bullshit charges had been added. So closed the site without confirming the booking - booking was made and Amex card debited - illegally. Website on confirmation email does not exist.
absolute con job
absolute con job - misrepesenting as a official hotel site - then charged massive fees - beware
Never ever use
Same as others on here, I was given a very good price for a room, I thought I was on the booking service for the actual hotel, as I paid for it, I hadn’t realised there were extra hidden fees added on, and then got charged double the amount. This company needs shutting down. I called them through a sister company of theirs called Priceline as the numbers given don’t actually work. I did get to speak to an agent, no cancellation allowed, no refund offered as per terms and conditions.
Horrible and misleading
Horrible and misleading. I thought I was booking with the hotel directly. When I needed to make changes the call was always dropped just after the agent indicated they would help me.
I urgently need your help
I urgently need your help, SCP. I just sent an email to your support address and I hope you can assist me and respond as soon as possible.
Thank you for your attention to this matter
Overcharged for something that I did not confirm
Hello,
I found a hotel which I wanted to book, the price was fine but as I got to the payment section an absurd amount was added in fee's and taxes which was not previously advertised. I cancelled the payment however I received a confirmation confirming that I had paid - which should not be possible as I did not accept the final amount. I cannot cancel the reservation directly with the hotel so therefore I need you to react and cancel my “not approved” booking. Please have a look at this ASAP! I have send a official mail with my ref number and everything (R5391215855).
DONT GET A HOTEL THRU GET A ROOM
DONT GET A HOTEL THRU GET A ROOM. ITS A SCAM. THEY CHARGED ME FULL AMOUNT AND DID NOT GIVE ME A REFUND WHEN I CANCELED THE SAME DAY. When their service rep refused to refund my money, I emailed the CEO, and I got an email from the 'escalation team' that they would refund my money in a month, I asked why a month, they changed it to a week and asked me to remove the dispute. I removed the dispute and am waiting to see if the money comes thru.
Scam scam.
Scam scam.. they purposely trick you into believing you are booking from the official website. Overcharge by 2-3times what the going rate would be. I cancelled my booking immediately but unsure if i will get my money back. Will update if refund gets processed.
SCAM
Husband used this site to book a room £265 - great. Was charged £529 before he'd even pressed confirm (banking pinged me). Absolute scam. Tried AI chat function and given a number to ring (doesn't exist). Asked for UK number and was text back that they cant provide regional numbers. Been scammed haven't we. We cant afford this 😞
*Update* We have contacted them via email and they have responded stating that they add on 7 different taxes, recovery charges etc and that this is shown on their website. Won't even refund the difference. Absolute con artists. Disgraceful.
Don’t use them overpriced, inaccurate information and no contact details
The website showed the cost for a two night booking only at the last minute did it show the full cost and I’d pressed confirm before I could stop. I’ve found no way of contacting them directly and the contact box they give does not respond despite giving a 24hour promise. Im now paying considerably more for the hotel than I would have done on booking.com. I when I booked it looked like guest reservations website only when I got the confirmation did I realise it was get a room. I would avoid both these sites when booking hotels. They are almost disgrace.
Fraud and scam avoid at all costs!
Similar experience to all the other negative reviews. I thought I was booking on a hotels genuine website but it turned out to be get a room . Com and after booking the hotel for two nights I was then hit with an additional fee equal to one nights stay by “get a room” if I try to cancel the request I then get charged the full amount including their fee with no refund available. Even though their cancellation policy states a full refund when cancelling a booking. I have not been able to find any correspondence for them as the number provided is a fake number and they have no email address to contact.
Avoid them at all costs I would give 0 stars if possible.
I have never been so angry with any…
I have never been so angry with any company. My son was home from Australia from Christmas and decided to treat the family to a night in the Moxy hotel in cork. He made the booking with what he thought was direct with the hotel but it turns out it was get a room.com. He paid $1100 dollars for 4 rooms, as soon as he made the booking he relished he made a mistake and cancelled it with 10 minutes, in the meantime the money was gone out of his account, he assumed he would be refunded. He rebooked the rooms with the change with booking.com for $1200. When I contacted gets room.com for the refund they said no refund due to their cancellation policy. I have never in my life dealt with a more rude, obnoxious, unhelpful company. No where was he told he wouldn’t get a refund. They said the hotel had got the money which means the hotel got $2300 off him, which as a young lad he cannot afford. It really spoiled his trip home. They have stopped communicating with me now. Avoid at all costs
getaroom.com do not use this company…
getaroom.com do not use this company they are impossible to get hold of, I booked a room in Hong Kong for 4 nights via there website, I wanted to alter my booking by one night to reduce it by one i.e. cancel one night, I was told I had to cancel the whole booking and loose all my money and re-book paying for the full amount, there is no other options for changing the booking with them. terrible customer service.
Horrendous Tax Recovery Charges and Services…
Could someone please provide me with an email address for Getaroom.com, as I cannot access their website. I was also charged horrendous Tax Recovery Charges & Service (almost 50%) of my hotel room fee.
Just an update. I emailed the customercare department at Guest reservations with my booking reference from Hotelvalue.com, and from Getaroom.com (these 3 companies are related somehow), and requested that my booking be cancelled and that I receive a refund. I received a response from Guest Reservations within a few hours, and 2 days later I received a full refund of the amount I had paid. I then re-booked directly through the hotel, making sure I was on the genuine hotel website. What an experience, not to be repeated again.
Scam or Fraud or both ?
Sorry to say, this is scam or fraud, as many others here they charge extra fees on 240 USD after booking and change to USD, and the nights where more expensive than at the real hotel site offers. We have 2 factor security payment in Denmark, even though they just activated the payment - tried to cancel but not possible - they have in some way copied the hotels website so you believe you are on the hotels site, have tried to call and mail them, but no reaction. The Hotel told me that the booking came from Booking.com so the cooperate with this professional company, but the hotel couldn't do anything and not possible to get in contact with Booking.com. So if anyone have some useful contact info, mail or phone and maybe contact persons i will be very happy, i will try to get at least some of my money back.
I booked a room
I booked a room, but canceled a few minutes afterwards. It was showed that I was going to get my money back, but I didn’t. Now I’m out of $172.82 on a hotel I didn’t stay in!
