Had an iPhone 11 which was in excellent condition , always used a case, no scratches whatsoever on the phone or screen. Was quoted £56. After review they offered me £17 as they said the screen display... See more

Poor customer service!
I’m starting to think that may have stolen my phone!!!! Sent to them to recycle and not a word since, no replies to emails and ironically no number to call!!
The Galaxy S22 'refurbished like new' I…
The Galaxy S22 'refurbished like new' I bought indeed looked new, even had the stickers. SIM didn't work had to return and the refund is taking a long time (no communication over a week after tracked delivery). Avoid.
GIFFGAFF SCAMMERS
Purchased refurbished phone in Nov 2022, started glitching after 6 weeks, was intermittent so gave it benefit of doubt, continued so returned for check. Allegedly the issue is out of warranty, but if I pay £1044 they will repair it. Absolutely appalling, that phone has been well cared for and they have sent me a faulty item. Getting law involved now, I'm not the right person to rip off. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE, SCAM ARTIST, BREAK CONSUMER LAWS, FRAUDULENT.....as a person who investigates fraud for a living, I won't let this rest.
Want to know what they are smoking!
Have used them before and been happy but now I want to know what they are smoking.Said my pixel 6 pro had a camera problem and offered £30 - down from over a £100s. When I got it back all the cameras are working fine, and there's even a selfie of the technician! Think they are trying to pull a musicmagpie here!
Great experience
Great experience, recycled an iphone 12 and iphone 11 pro max and got £240 for them each matching the original quote price. I recommend selecting paypal as payment option as I got paid the same day the phone processed, whereas bank transfer took 5 working days.
Scared by reviews but 5* service!
I must admit, I read the reviews on here just after I had sent my phone to Giffgaff recycle and was really nervous to what I was going to get back, but I must say the service I received was absolutely 5*. I generated a postal note last Thursday 16th, sent it on the 17th and by Monday I received an email to say the phone was as described and was going to receive the full quote in which was originally stated to me. Checked my bank this morning and it’s been transferred in, the full amount. Maybe I’m the lucky one but it was smooth for me and I will definitely use this service again! The ‘only’ issue was that I was told I would be paid yesterday, but I’m not going to complain about 1 day late.
AN ABSOLUTE COMPLETE SCAM OF A COMPANY
A COMPLETE SCAM OF A COMPANY, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. SENT THEM A PERFECT GALAXY FLIP Z PHONE THAT THEY OFFERED £125 FOR, THEN A REVISED OFFER FOR £24.80 CAME BACK DUE TO SCREEN BURNOUT!!!! I REFUSED THE OFFER ASKING ME THEM TO SEND ME PHONE BACK TO ME. THEY IGNORED MY REFUSAL AND CONTINUED TO RECYCLE PHONE. I CONTACTED THEM REPEATEDLY ASKING THEM FOR TRACKING OF RETURNED PHONE TO BE TOLD THAT THEY HAD ALREADY RECYCLED PHONE AND WANTED EVIDENCE THAT I HAD REFUSED OFFER BY SENDING THEM DATED SCREENSHOTS, BUT ONLY WAY TO UPLOAD WAS TO START A NEW CONVERSATION BY EMAIL BUT WHEN I ASKED FOR AN EMAIL ADDRESS TO CONTINUE INQUIRY FUNNY ENOUGH THEY HAD NO EMAIL ADDRESS TO SEND THESE REQUESTED SCREENSHOTS TO AND THE ONLY WAY TO CONTACT THEM WAS THROUGH THEIR 'CONTACT AREA' WITH NO PLACE TO UPLOAD EVIDENCE!!! COMPLETE ROBBERS, ABSOLUTELY AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! SCAMMERS LIKE GIFFGAFFRECYCLE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE WEB!!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID
Exactly the same as everyone else
Exactly the same as everyone else. Sent a Galaxy s21 with a quote of £206. For an email saying it had ‘screen burn’ which is just a word they make up, modern screens don’t suffer screen burn, unable to reply or call or anything, got £46 for my perfect s21.
How can we take these con artists off the streets?
SCAM
Avoid this company by all means. I went with them rhinkinh they were reliable. I sent my phone in a good condition, I only took out the screen protector and case the day I sent it, screen is clean also the rest part of the phone only to get a re quote for an imaginary screen burn , there was a link to reject which doesn't actually work, I then went online to use the help option, I also looked up the details of the address I posted the device to found a number and called , the person I spoke to said there were trying to fix the screen burn so as to retain the initial quote I got, he promised to call back which he never did, I called back and he acted as if we never discussed that , transferred me to someone else who said the rejection has been accepted, I told her to note I have videos with time stamped when I sent the device and it had no issue, if anything happens to my device for when it's sent back, I would take it up. If my device is tampered with I will definitely go to the ombudsman.
This company is all a scam , avoid them.

Appears to be a deliberate attempt to scam many customers out of money
Send your phone to GiffGaff recycle at your own risk!
There are hundreds, probably thousands of people they appear have scammed out of money by offering a quote for a phone trade-in, falsifying the condition when your phone arrives and then offering a significantly lower value.
My iPhone X, in excellent condition, went from a £145 quote to a pathetic offer of £29 due to ‘screen burn’ which is a non-existent issue. I have photos of the screen taken the day of postage to prove the item is not faulty, and I’m currently in the process of disputing this with them and will be contacting the Financial Ombudsman and taking legal advice if it isn’t resolved.
Ignoring my particular individual case, a quick bit of research shows that there are hundreds of other people who have had similar experiences. Phones posted in one condition, seemingly arriving in totally different ones, whether with non-existent ‘cracked cameras’, ‘screen burn’, ‘scratches’ or ‘delamination of casing’ (etc)
Thankfully I’m aware enough to realise what’s going on, but i’m sure there’s elderly or otherwise ignorant people who have been tricked into losing out on money due to this frankly deliberate-looking business practice.
If you don’t believe me, just read the rest of the reviews on here, visit reviews.io or google ‘giffgaff recycle issues’ or ‘giffgaff recycle screen burn’. Scroll past the very few positive reviews and you’ll find hundreds and hundreds of posts on the matter.
Anyway, don’t make the same mistake as I did and I truly hope one day people will stop getting caught out. Use this service at your own risk, or sell your phone on ebay or facebook instead. Will update this review if i have to take matters further.

I don't believe Giffgaff values…
I don't believe Giffgaff values customer loyalty or health and safety; I've been with them for years and have introduced them to many new customers.
I decided to buy a refurbished handset from Giffgaff online store.
I have done this before in the past and it has been OK.
However, this time, after buying a Samsung S10 that was delivered faulty, I requested an exchange.
I received a refund instead, so I bought another one, hopping that this time it would be OK.
This wasn't the case!
Giffgaff customer service wasn't willing to help me.
The phone that I received from Giffgaff was dirty, with earwax still on the speaker from the previous owner, and the screen was unusable due to the many scratches.
After getting intouch with Giffgaff regarding this issue, The only suggestion that Giffgaff customer service had was to send it back if I didn't like it!

I posted my phone
I posted my phone: s20 plus on Thursday 26th May 2022, giffgaff received it on the 27th.
Later that day i received an email stating they got the phone and its like the description i had given them. In that email it say my payment of £250will be paid in my bank on the 30th.They should have said 3-5 working days rather then giving me a date! Seems like they cant stick to their words!
Fast payment and the price was exactly as promised
This was such a positive experience. GiffGaff offered me £200 for my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in March 2021. Other sites were offering around £160. I was worried about posting my phone away as I have read a lot of bad reviews where other companies reduce their their offer on receipt of a phone.
However I decided to send the phone using my own packaging and postage instead of the freepost label. I used Royal Mail Special Delivery to ensure it was trackable and fully insured. I posted it on Saturday 3 April (during Easter weekend) and received the full payment by Paypal the next working day on Tuesday 6 April. I was amazed it was this quick and easy. I would recommend this service.
Top tip would be to sign up to TopCashback.co.uk and see if there's any cashback offers. I clicked the link and £8.50 is due to be paid to me in a few months time.
Best trade in site by far
Pros:
Great prices, sometimes 40% more than other leading comparisons (WeBuyAnyPhone and Envirofone)
No price deduction for locked networks or low battery percentage
Money arrived within 5 working days 100% of the time
Delightful service available from the GiffGaff community or dedicated agents
Cons:
Packaging takes a bit longer to arrive
Packaging could be more compact/environmentally friendly like Envirofone or WeBuyAnyPhone
