Cowboys - Do not use!
Paid my £95 excess to have them come out to look at a water leak from my boiler. after inspection they deemed the boiler "beyond economical repair". Fair enough. When I asked for my excess back because it was unrepairable they said that was not possible. SO, I've basically paid £95 to have someone from 247 Home Rescue come out to my house to tell me that they will not be repairing my boiler. Absolutely useless company. Avoid at all costs.
Don’t trust these people
Don’t trust these people . I had exactly the same happen to me as happened Iain Gordon. I rang them up
to tell them of a problem with intermittent hot water.
They tried to take £75 off me .when I complained I did not know that they had increased the excess they lowered it to £45.even sent me two emails.so I have the
proof. Waited for the engineer to come and do a service
he identified the faults that I had notified them of.
The engineer put in a job sheet identifying these faults
Now they say it’s not in my terms to have these repairs
done as it is remedial work. They now want £591 16 off
me . I am a pensioner aged 76 years. I would have expected better. but it seems they treat everyone like this . Take your money and give nothing in return
I would warn anyone to beware because these people are bad news .they have been a pain in the backside all of the time I have been with them. The last engineer that came was decent fellow . The one before that was in and out of the house in a few minutes. He even whinged about having to come out of his way and he was going to be late home. Surely this is dangerous practice not to have your boiler serviced and checked over properly. Their policy and attitude stinks to high heaven . What a waste of money.
Absolute shockers these lot!
Absolute shockers these lot!
Had to scale back significantly at the beginning of the pandemic, had two family members critically ill and failed to cancel a new policy within 14 days. All other firms were receptive to my situation; these cowboys absolutely not!
I don't recommend taking out a boiler cover package with 24/7
I took a boiler cover package out with this so called company in October 2020, we have a problem with our hot water and I called them today to report the issue and request an engineer visit. After calling their helpline and trying to communicate the details to someone who struggled to grasp the English language, I was told that the request had been declined! I then called the cancellations team to cancel the policy as it's obviously of no use to us when we can't get the system repaired when it doesn't work. The cancellations representative said I'd declined an offer of a £75 call out offer, which I assured her I hadn't even been told about. She then wanted to discount this to £35 and refer me back to the call out team!
Please avoid this company, they have some dubious good feedback in between the obvious genuine terrible feedback.
I am now going to call a private engineer to sort my boiler and have obviously wasted my money on 5 months of cover that they were never going to honour.
Vindictive hustlers out for your money!
Another victim of automatic renewals hidden in small print. After being made redundant, having no income and these animals still think it’s ok to treat people like this. They said they treat all of their customers equally with no exceptions to their conditions, which I guess is true, all customers will get an equally awful service. Can’t imagine what would happen if you ever actually tried to claim on your insurance policy! You would get better customer service from a Robot. Don’t bother asking to speak to a manager, I spoke with a manager Shannon and 2 other agents, Ryan and Chelsea. All of whom had no personality, no empathy and barely any humanity. They all just say to read their terms and conditions and which is apparently designed to try and screw over it’s customers to make a quick buck.
One star is too kind. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
One star is too kind.
Absolutely horrendous company.
Hidden automatic renewals even though they claim they will contact you 21 days before the end of your policy (they did not).
Global pandemic, unemployment and days before Christmas had £66 taken from my bank account which was the money for Christmas food.
Unbelievably disappointed by this company.
Disappointed in myself for not reading the reviews before purchasing with them last year.
Avoid!!!! BE WARNED!! One of the worst people in the…
One of the worst people in the insurance history. AVOID. TOTALLY AVOID.
They have ripped me off and many other.
Shocking and unethical
I called to cancel my contract and got talked in to it with a cheaper deal (as I already have home emergency cover) and reminded BY 247 that I hadn’t had a service during the past service period so I was still owed one! That was under a contract paying much more per month. I have recently tried to cancel the new contract following a poor experience, but they have claimed that the ‘catch up’ annual service was under the new period and using as a reason for us not to being able to leave the contract, which I had been told was on a rolling month basis.
I also expect that the cover is null and void anyway as I am not proceeding with the work advised following the recent service as we have had a qualified second opinion who explained there was no major risks and this seemed to be a ‘fishing for work’ job. The 247 engineer found a very minor hairline crack in a condensation tube and slapped a ‘danger, do not use’ sticker on although he said, with a nod and a wink, that I could choose to use at my own risk and he probably would, though he couldn’t formally say that. So, dangerous or not???! This left me very confused as it meant no hot water or heating with immediate effect for our young family following no prior issues, noises or sounds from boiler, so completely unexpected and suspicious. The engineer explained we would be treated as a priority customer and when I received the quote for £280 to fix something that we felt had been fine, I was still prepared to follow advice and get the work done although they wished to take payment before giving me any idea of timeframe, which again is just rubbish customer service. Would you pay that amount not knowing what you get for your money? I complained about this and the technical team reassured me this would not be a week, but maximum 2-3 days with no heating. I still had faith (somehow!) and paid on this understanding/commitment only to immediately be phoned back and told it would be a week after all. At this point I completely lost patience and requested a full refund of that payment and contacted another heating engineer to review and repair if necessary.... quicker!. This engineer checked the boiler that night over the course of an hour (returning the following day to check again following use of the heating overnight) and assured us no work is required.... and it has been working perfectly ever since!
I appreciate 246 may not agree with him, but equally we had a routine boiler service with NO issues previously, but finding expensive work on a 7 year old boiler, followed by commitments on timeframes which were not honoured, keeping our young family without hot water or heating. To quote my husband, a bunch of chancers!
I now feel trapped and I assume that the cover they are forcing me to continue with or pay £144 exit penalty for is not valid anyway as they ‘found’ issues with the boiler which we are not prepared to be held over a barrel to pay for.
I am disgusted with their consistently poor customer service. They have not honoured commitments made to me and now pulling out a very questionable technicality when I wish to leave.

Home rescue 24/7 is another waste of time company. Serviced my boiler once then cancelled my next service three times. All sorts of excuses. This company prooved to be unreliable. They are only interested in big jobs like installing new boiler or a major work. Avoid them if you want trouble free life!
A rare good review.
Seems to be a lot of bad reviews on here, perhaps most people only write bad experiences and not good ones. The service I received was what I expected. Broke my phone screen, phoned the next day and went through the usual procedures when making a claim from any company. It took 12 days from me reporting the accident to receiving the repaired phone back (they actually fixed the power button on it too which was failing). Can't comment on everyone else's experiences but mine was seamless. New contract phone in February and will use them again.
They declined my claim because my item…
They declined my claim because my item was "over 12 months old" even though their policy states nothing about this. A total scam. Do not buy insurance from these lot.
My Reference 592252
My Reference 592252, My experience with this company has been good sorry to hear bad reviews , to be honest there are a lot of companies out there that are not perfect if you find 1 let me know , thus far 😊
Please all
Please all. Customers. Please be aware this company giving false promises. They keep putting fault and keep on security deposit £75 will never you will get get your money back do not get caught this fraudster
Company liners. Money suckers
I wish I had read these reviews before…
I wish I had read these reviews before I engaged in this company, their customer service is shambolic they have been ignoring my request for a refund of a deposit from a previous policy while getting a new one, No refund as of yet not but many excuses on why this is and many emails ignoring this fact for a refund request of my deposit.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
This may be a cheaper option but will cost you in the long run. They trade as Home Rescue but their actual company is Dynamo, underwritten by Bastion Insurance Co. and the claims are dealt with by PEX Insure (if this doesn’t scream dodgy to you I don’t know what will). I had to claim for damage to my laptop and it took nine months and the Financial Ombudsman to get my settlement. The most appalling customer service I have ever experienced and the company outright lied to the Ombudsman about when I contacted them. I cannot emphasise enough how awful this company is. Please avoid it - it should be shut down.
Wow just shocking
Wow, never thought I would be agreeing with below. I have NEVER had a such a terrible experience. Truly shocking and rude staff who lie with a straight face. So many things gone wrong and not worth my time going into the detail.
DO NOT USE THESE COWBOTS. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
Absolutely appalling Company
Absolutely appalling Company. Do not touch them! If you are having problems with your boiler, unless it has completely broken down, you are not covered. If there is a faulty part, they will not replace it because they say it wasn’t fitted by them. They didn’t come out for the annual boiler service until I complained again and again and they eventually came out after 3 months! They also lied by stating that their engineer had tried to contact me to arrange an appointment. I have a copy of my calls list and they hadn’t called at all. This is not a genuine service agreement. Don’t be fooled by the cheap price. You will end up paying a lot more. Go somewhere else more reputable. Please read the previous reviews. I wish I had done so. They have caused me nothing but stress and anxiety.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
home rescue are not neccesarily the problem, the people that deal with their claims Kaptron insurance services are the real cowboys. iv just called them abut my claim and the person i spoke to was not only rude but did everything but swear at me on the phone. i have never experienced such horrific treatment.
Do Not take out insurance with this company!! they will not honour any claim you make and will not help you if you have any problems.
Total cowboys
Total cowboys. Will somehow have a hole in your policy and find a reason to decline your claim.
Go elsewhere. Do not sign a contract with these boys. That's how they make money. So they are professionals in ripping you off from every angle.
Go elsewhere. I mean look at their other reviews. Shambolic.
Home rescue.co and PEX
After being with homeserve for a number of years, I decided to go with these cowboys because they were cheaper but I didn't check the reviews.
Took out a boiler cover and service policy after a couple of months into the policy they phoned me to book a service with an engineer, I had to phone the engineer myself first they gave me the wrong number eventually I got my service done.
2 months later in March my boiler broke down on the weekend rang Home rescue.co . They were closed tried emailing them, saying my email is invalid but sent my documents on there. Finally got a number of PEX insurance phoned them.
They asked me 3 questions
1 how old boiler. 2 has it been serviced
3 is the boiler a danger to the property. I failed on the last one because I said no but I told them it is cold and I've got kids, they said you got to get it repaired yourself.
Monday I rang home rescue.co they said we can't get involved because of confidentialty. Rang PEX again and at this time told them boiler started to leak on the washing machine underneath they said you haven't got boiler cover. Told this to home rescue.co they said we not getting involved and home rescue.co told me they've changed their insurer but didn't tell me. Couldn't cancel my policy because home rescue.co said you have to pay remaining balance of policy to cancel, only had three months remaining. Waited towards the end and then I contacted finiancial ombudsmen they looked at my case and it went in my favour because they treated me wrong and I got some money back.
