I have the lifetime 10Tb. I'm happy with this. Only the disconnection and dismount of the drive on my computer from time to time is not so nice. The Up and download speed is faster than Onedrive.

Depends on your specific needs

I've been using it for almost 4 months and it has worked as intended, i use it as archive for my media productions. When i've needed any file it's been easy to get and upload and download speeds are fine for me. Keeping in mind the price for "life lasting" product it's really good, even if it only lasts for 2 years it would have paid itself already by that time. I trusted the reviews to decide getting it, and i'm happy it was up to the good reputation.

I have the lifetime 10Tb. I'm happy with this.
Only the disconnection and dismount of the drive on my computer from time to time is not so nice. The Up and download speed is faster than Onedrive.

I've been using icedrive for years and…

I've been using icedrive for years and they have been great. I've never had an issue accessing my files from all over the world. I travel alot and icedrive looks after all of my film footage, precious photos and important documents!

The customerservice is 1st class

The customerservice is 1st class. I did get an answer and a solution within 48h as promised. To install the Mac App is tricky, because at first you need to install MacFuse.

What’s going on?

Access my account find this afternoon but this evening I’m logged out and it’s not recognising my details put in forgotten password and it comes with some gibberish message. It says status code is 2XX but should be 503.. what a earth is that supposed to mean?

I’ll try to attach screenshots. What is going on? Have I lost my files?

Loving the Simplicity and Security

I recently got the 2 TB lifetime plan from Icedrive, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. The main reason I picked them was their zero-knowledge encryption. Basically, only I can access my files, not even Icedrive can see what I store. That kind of privacy is a big deal for me.
The interface is super clean and easy to use. Whether I’m on my phone, desktop, or just using the browser, everything works smoothly. Uploading and organizing files is quick and painless.
I also really like that Icedrive keeps things simple. It doesn’t try to do too much or throw in features I don’t need. Just solid, secure storage that works.
The lifetime deal is the cherry on top. One payment and I’ve got 2 TB forever? That’s a win in my book.
If you’re looking for a cloud service that actually cares about privacy and doesn’t complicate things, I’d definitely recommend giving Icedrive a try.

Unusable for Large Downloads — Broken for Years, Ignored by Support

IceDrive looks good on paper — decent UI, zero-knowledge encryption, competitive pricing. But what good is a cloud service if you can't even download your own files properly?
Let me break it down:

I’m on a 400Mbps connection (50MB/s).

IceDrive download speeds? Barely 500KB/s, sometimes just 10KB/s.

Worst part? Downloads cancel midway after a few MBs — consistently.

Tested across:

Multiple browsers (Chrome, Brave, Firefox)

Multiple OS/devices (Windows 11, Android)

7+ ISPs, 60+ VPN locations (Surfshark), and even IceDrive's own app & WebDAV.

Guess what? Still broken.

Their mount app? Literally a joke — downloads at 10KB/s, feels like dial-up.

WebDAV? Capped at 250KB/s, and disconnects during large file transfers.

Other services like Google Drive, OneDrive, pCloud? All stable at 35–45MB/s. No issues. Only IceDrive fails — and it’s been this way for years. Just search Reddit and you’ll see other users suffering the same thing, ignored or given copy-paste answers.

To be fair, support did respond and escalated my ticket to devs — after I sent a full screen recording showing the issue. But it’s been like this for so long, it’s baffling they haven’t fixed such a core, critical flaw. Cloud storage is not just about pretty interfaces — it's about reliable access.

Right now, IceDrive is unusable for serious storage needs, especially if you're backing up large files or expecting to restore anything in the future. I’ve already started migrating to a more stable provider.

Avoid unless you’re only storing text files or enjoy pain.

Not Very Reliable

I purchased the 1 TB lifetime deal over a year ago, hoping for a reliable cloud storage solution. Unfortunately, I've been plagued by persistent upload issues, particularly with large batches of photos and videos. This makes it impossible to confidently delete files from my other devices, as I'm constantly unsure if the uploads truly succeeded. The changing sync/mounting/upload methods only add to the confusion and unreliability. I requested a refund last year due to these ongoing bugs but was denied. Unless Icedrive significantly improves its stability and consistency, I'll be forced to switch to a different provider

It just works and that’s good

It just works and that’s a lot to say compared with others, and to top it off it has a good price for the storage.
The only caveat if something, it’s about the encrypted folder, that initially it’s difficult to understand a bit how it works

Tried to use icedrive for backup, but half of my files were not uploaded with strange error.

I am on a paid subscription. I have used portable app to upload ~130 files to encrypted folder. Never changed any settings, all default. About half of the files weren't uploaded. The error is "No write access to encryption temp dir. Check settings". There is no way to retry failed files, no way to see more information about this error, and what to do. Should I re-upload all the files in my backup folder, hoping second time it will be successful? It is not good, not reliable. I tried to google it, no luck. But I have found reviews from other people on reddit, that couldn't read the files they have uploaded. This is just a disappointment. I started to look for different backup solution now.

Exceptional Service, Good Features, Awesome Support

Became a customer after making decision to quit the Apple ecosystem... and so happy that I did. Opted for a paid 2Tb lifetime deal via one of their special offers - exceptional value. Desktop integration with Windows and Linux is flawless, ditto for iOS and Android and it's a perfect solution for automatically pushing smartphone images up to the cloud.

But it's their customer service that takes them to the top of the pack - it's exceptional.

Opportunities to improve? I'd love for them to expand their WebDAV solution to cover CalDAV and CardDav [for calendars and address books] and if they want to knock it out of the park and add a browser bookmark sync feature that would be perfect.

But seriously, as far as cloud storage is concerned, you simply can't go wrong.

I believe it has now been three months…

I believe it has now been three months since I started using Icedrive and I'm extremely happy with the service. There was some teething problems at the beginning but that was quickly resolved, thanks to a very quick support. Hopefully, this satisfaction will carry on over a longer period of time.

The lifetime plan meets my budget and the software is easy to use. I especially like how the "Icedrive" integrates as a virtual drive in window file explorer. It makes working with folders and documents very easy.

Music streaming….

Wishing Ice Drive would come up with a way to continually stream music.
Right now it’s one at a time and needs intervention to play next song…
