I use Icedrive mainly to store photographs. The software is easy to use and the photos can be accessed quite quickly from different devices. However, there is a major issue with upload and caching. Up... See more

Amazing value
Amazing value. Bought a lifetime deal and works great. It doesn't seem to have the limits that other companies have. Great service!

Selected for confidentiality
Selected for confidentiality. Some slight changes the way the service works over the past 6 months. Good but with some cavehats. A restore capability is missing, though file explorer copy of files works for retrieving a backup

Satisfactory quality/price ratio.
Great service for me.
Upload and download speed are continously improving. Now better than years ago.
Satisfactory quality/price ratio.

Without problem in android
Without problem in android. Very fast. The best for me. I was testing a lot of similar app. The preview of pdf is good for my use. The upload is in a seconds and I share the folder with my friend. The price is good, I prefer to pay ford a good service and not lose my time with another free alternatuves

Used to be fine.
I have copied this from a Jan 1 review of another user. Because I have the same current assessment.
I was satisfied with iceDrive when I started using it. Pros: It offers a lot of storage at a small price, an easy-to-use UI with a mountable drive, enabling browsing the iceDrive through the File Explorer. Everything was fine until recently that I discovered that no new folders are automatically synced to iceDrive. I see others complaining about this in their support forum, but with no proper response to that. A sync that you cannot trust is totally useless!

I appreciate the simplicity but...
I appreciate the simplicity of Icedrive.
I also use pCloud which has greater functionality and a more sophisticated UI but I generally don't need the additional features pCloud offers.
I recently purchased a 512GB lifetime plan with Icedrive and I'm mostly happy with the functionality, the Android app is easy to use as is the desktop app but it's one major downside: SLOW transfer speeds. Not sure if I'm throttled because I'm on a Lifetime subscription but if I'd known it was as slow as it is I would possibly not have signed up.
I use OneDrive for work, pCloud and Google Drive for personal use and now Icedrive but Icedrive is the slowest by far. If you can live with middling speeds then Icedrive will be fine but don't expect transfer speeds anywhere near the competitors.

It works BUT sync reliability varies as far as files are updated, or synced among multiple PCs
I have been using IceDrive for storing my HD music collection (~2TB) and syncing it between several PCs. (I also use OneDrive and Google Drive, but they have no competitive plans for storing more than 1TB or 2TB respectively).
The GOOD:
1. It generally works, uploads and downloads are both fast enough.
2. I have noticed no throttling while uploading large volumes.
3. Unlike many competitors IceDrive allows to sync numerous independent folders (not available in Google Drive and many other similar apps) or send anyone a download link to a whole folder or file set.
THE NOT SO GOOD:
While the current version 3.x works much better than the previous one, I have encountered numerous glitches.
1. For some reason NOTHING is synchronized with the PCs if I upload files directly to the cloud folder. This happens despite the fact that all sync pairs are set as two-way sync. No issues the other way round, when anything gets added or deleted from the folder on any of the PCs.
2. I have noticed that under certain circumstances (yet to be determined) not all files are synced between all PCs. I have a "master" PC that runs the Roon server, and a couple others that all have similar sync pairs set up to make sure my music collection is synchronized among several computers. There were numerous cases when I have discovered that some files are either missing on one of the PCs, or have not been deleted, or their versions are outdated. Overall, it looks like IceDrive is not designed/optimized for the scenario when one and the same cloud folder is synced among multiple PCs. (OneDrive works perfectly under this scenario).
3. IceDrive does not look kindly when you start updating files (like fixing tags) while it syncs them in the background. This results in unnecessary alerts (as if the file is inaccessible) or certain files not being synced. Moreover, one never knows the scope of changes that were not actually synced. (No such issues with OneDrive).
4. There is no way to see the whole sync queue (you only see several files that are currently syncing, and the overall number of files to be synced as far as it is below 100; otherwise the client shows 99+). The same applies to sync history - it's nonexistent, so I cannot verify which files have been synched, and at what time.
5. The client issues too many stupid alerts, including numerous "file not available" messages during the time when the notebook PC was asleep (and nothing should have happened at all). Also, the client does not tolerate temporary file locks (when tags are updated) and immediately produces an alert instead of making several timed attempts and only producing the alert in case the file is really unavailable for some time...
REMEDIES
To make sure no files or updates have been lost during the sync operations, I had to set up complete network folder comparison pairs (I use Beyond Compare for this purpose) for all computers. I run these comparisons on a more or less regular basis and fix all glitches manually. They are not too numerous, and do not occur all the time, but I would expect to have none at all.
Also, given that IceDrive often does not process cases when files are updated during the sync operation correctly, I have accepted a special approach. I move the affected folder (where tags or files need to be updated) outside of the sync pair, make all updates, and then move it back. That way the number of glitches is minimized. But this should not be necessary at all! Normally, when/if you update any file, whether it is being synced or not, the updated version should automatically be used and overwrite all other, outdated copies without generating any alerts...

Great Cloud Storage
Meanwhile I'm using Icedrive for a year and I'm still very satisfied with it's availability, functionality, and the provided features.
The Android app as well as the windows client are working as they should, I never had any problems with it

Great service with one limitation
Icedrive is a great service if you understand its limitations. I have another cloud storage storage that has an app for syncing, and which runs on Linux, but the storage is small for the free version. So with Icedrive I have to have my own system for keeping track of which files need to be uploaded, deleted, etc., but the price for 100G of storage is excellent. I use the mobile version on several desktops and laptops. Very simple and reliable.

Good appimage for Linux
I'm using Icedrive for a couple of years, mainly from a Linux system. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 just because IceDrive doesn't provide neither a command line interface nor a mounting drive feature. However the appimage is working smoothly and reasonably fast.

Icedrive functions very well and is relatively inexpensive. It also offers life-time plans making cloud storage really affordable. Well done!

Reliable, fast, easy to use, safe and cost efficient
I tested and compared more than 20 different cloud storage solutions and Icedrive is the best I seen so far.
Functionaly only potential alternative is self hosted solution. When cost, ease of use and needed time effort is taken into account Icedrive wins big time.

10TB Life Time
I have the 10TB Life Time and have had Icedrive for over a year. I can honesty say I've had very little problems, and what problems I've had have been sorted within an hour or so. I like Icedrive because It runs like a drive in widows 11 and can transfer files within minutes. Well earned 5 star guys.

Icedrive has been ok for me I like that…
Icedrive has been ok for me I like that you can upload photos and vids whilst on holiday without the risk of loosing them on a mobile phone.
It could make changing folders and their contents easier to use and also moving items from folder to another folder.
But other then that I have been pleased with Icedrive.
