Absolutely dreadful company
Absolutely dreadful company. They charged me 200 euros because the car I took back had some sand on the floor. I will never book through rentalcars.com again if they continue using Inter rent.

Charged for fuel but no way to contact the company for a receipt
You dont save money, the service is bad and the check in is really really slow
Cheap car rental but returned the car…
Cheap car rental but returned the car to London Stansted and now got a charge for £17. Nobody was there when we dropped off, we didn't get an invoice and now I can't contact anybody. The online contact form won't let me send a message as says Stansted is not correct location, emails to the customer service desk just bounce back undelivered and I have spent 15 minutes on hold to two different numbers wasting my time and money. How are we meant to contact anybody? Also when we picked up the car no damage was written on the form and not even the mileage. Feels like they are setting you up for future charges. Feel lucky they have only screwed us for £17.
Interrent at Birmingham airport used to…
Interrent at Birmingham airport used to good at offering great rates and their customer service was not bad either but today I have been scammed by the manager of the branch in a shocking manner. I booked directly with interrent and fully paid 90 gbp for 10 days using my card at their website. When I went to the branch the manager tried to sell me insurance cover which I plainly refused. Then just before when I was to swipe the card for holding the deposit , he asked me that there is a prepayment of 90 gbp and i replied yeah since i had already prepaid over the web that amount. He instead charged my card. Now on the contract I immediately noticed this double charge and asked him to remove since I had already paid over thr web. He asked me to show the bank statement and I did. He said he wont remove it as its a requirement to make this prepayment. I noticed on the contract that he had secretly added a car insurance that costed 90 gbp. I called reservation they said we cant do anything but we ll forward it to customer service who cannot be accessed except email so I emailed them. This whole episode took one hour. The manager refused to refund me for the insurance that he secretly added. I have the car and case is with customer service lets see what happens. So beware of this practise of secretly addig insurance and adding it to deposit. Birmingham Airport used to be a very good branch and I never had problems.with their staff and even thr customer service until now.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY
An absolutely dreadful experience. The staff were so rude, unwilling to help or find solutions, and treated everyone disgracefully. They have clearly been told not to give their names so they cannot be named in complaints - of which there are clearly MANY. The only person who did give her name was Casey the manager. She presented us with 35 pages of additional terms and conditions, never included as part of the booking process, and directed us to clause 24, which stated that dogs were not allowed in their cars.
This is a total breach of consumer law which requires that you be shown the terms and conditions before you enter into the contract. No matter to Interrent, or Casey - not their problem. At this point we had travelled a long distance by taxi to collect the car and spent £25 on the fare. Nope, no chance of a refund of the car rental cost, or reimbursement of the taxi fare. So we arranged for a family member to come and collect the dog - they were travelling with us for my birthday weekend away and could bring the dog with them. No, that wasn't good enough for Interrent or Casey. We have a recording of her stating there was no way they would let us rent the car. Clearly we couldn't be trusted not to sneak our dog into the car. Who knows what damage a small, clean, very well behaved cocker spaniel could do. No, the only solution was for us to pay another £100 - refundable (yeah, right) if there was "no sign that a dog had been in the car". At that point, we would rather have walked to Kent than paid that company a penny more.
Truly the worst customer experience we have ever ever encountered.
Whatever you do, DO NOT book a rental car with this company.
Booked a car with InterRent at Stansted…NEVER AGAIN!
Booked a car with InterRent at Stansted airport, through Ryanair, in the confirmation email it said to bring: credit card, passport, driving licence and print out of the voucher, which she did. They refused to give her the car as she did not have ID. driving licence and passport not good enough? what a joke! I will never book through Ryanair again and never with InterRent.
The worst car rental ever
The worst car rental ever. Bad service and always keen to steal money. In Faro they sold us a service (cleaning fee) without telling us. We asked if they were charging a cleaning fee and the agent said they would not charge us if the car would be returned clean. Ended up that the agent asked to sign the agreement hiding with her hand the cleaning fee, so we didn’t notice.
Once returned the car (clean) they obviously charged the fees. Bad practice. Avoid them.
Never ever again
Shocking company all hidden charges and…sh
Shocking company all hidden charges and slow terrible customer service
AVOID AT ALL COST
FRAUDULENT SCAM company
FRAUDULENT SCAM company. AVOID. They are fraudulent. Ripping off customers with all manner of excess charges. Appalling disgusting service at Edinburgh Airport on Friday 12th April. Refused to give me car as said passport was requirement, even though I was not told this in advance. Took the guy 50 mins to serve 3 customers (due to his trying to scam extra insurance extras or whatever with any trick in the book). Scammed a lovely French couple for a child booster seat which their child obviously did not need.
BAD SERVICE
I was at Interrent ( Manchester Airport, UK location) recently to pick up a car I booked and paid already through rental cars. At the pick up I showed the girl at Interrent ( Natalie, a light skin black chick with a lots of makeup on lol) my valid US drivers license, credit card and reservation number. She denied my drivers license because she thinks it's damaged and therefore she won't let me leave with the car I had reserved. I asked her what's the damage and she said the edge of your drivers license has some dent and it could be fraud. So I asked her if the dent is preventing her from verifying my identity? And she said NO but I have no means to verify if your drivers license is valid since you don't have a UK drivers license. Keep in mind I had just rented a car through enterprise a week ago at the same airport with the same drivers license and there's was no issue. So I called rentalcars whom I made the reservation through and explained the situation to them. Rentalcars couldn't convince Natalie to accept my drivers license. So i took a picture of my drivers license and emailed it to rentalcars on the spot. Rental cars responded back right away and said there's nothing wrong with my driver's license. So rentalcars canceled the reservation and rebooked it for pick up at enterprise which was right next door to interrent. I went to enterprise with the same drivers license and there was no issue either . Enterprise gave me a car right away :-). I also told enterprise the reason why Natalie denied my drivers license and they found it ridiculous of her to even put it writing that my drivers license is damaged when is not true. The bottom line is, this chick Natalie needs a reality check and someone is going to do it. I spent more than 4 hours at the rental pickup to sort this out which was a waste of time and inconvenience especially after I even told the interrent chick that my mom is at the ICU and she shouldn't be wasting my time for something silly. She didn't even care. she was very rude and had the nerve to rush me to leave leave her office . Well you do math if it's worth supporting interrent business.
Unacceptable experience
Terrible customer service, I strongly don't recommend this company. There are other low cost car rentals which offer better prices and good quality services.
Absolute nightmare
Absolute nightmare. I have rented cars from this company more than 6 times over the past 2 years. I arrived today to be told that they had to update my address - even though I haven't moved. Their system would not recognise my address - even though it has not changed from the last 6 rentals. So they refuse to rent me the car I had booked. Staff member - Alex - completely unhelpful, just shrugged and said sorry. So I was left at 7 in the evening with no car and no help.
So much for customer loyalty - avoid this company like the plague.
I had a terrible experience with InterRent
I had a terrible experience with InterRent. I spent hours booking a vehicle the week prior to "collecting" it from Heathrow. When I arrived I was told by Casey that I could not book the vehicle. I had an international credit card, international passport but no return flight. See I am living in the UK.
Because I had no return flight, they were unable to book me the vehicle. Let me mention that I have booked from dozens of different rental companies in dozens of different countries and never, ever have I been required to provide a return flight to book a vehicle. I looked on the Terms and Conditions and it was not clear that if I booked with an international card that this was the case. I was also not notified about this on booking.
I asked the lady if I could book a return flight to be under their conditions. She said no.
Also note, this is at 8pm on a Friday evening with other car companies closing soon. She would not help me in any way. In-fact, she got extremely rude to me and other customers in the shop. She was completely unprofessional and acted as if I was the one putting her out...
This was the WORST experience I have had renting a vehicle ever and will never use this company and will go out of my way to tell people to avoid it. I was civil and decent at all times, although I had reason to throw my toys, I decided to be the bigger person in the situation.
They refunded me the money spent and I then had to scramble for a vehicle while picking up my friend from the airport.
Green Motion made a plan for me last minute and their service was the complete opposite of InterRent. I make mention of this only because of the utter opposite experience I had within 2 hours.
Green Motion accepted my documents (as all other car rental companies do) and I ended up sorting it out with no time to spare and saved the weekend away.
Shame on your employees behaviour InterRent.
Please be aware trust me and everyone…
Please be aware trust me and everyone else on here do not rent a car from this company they are ignorant selfish thieves worst company ever I have dealt with
Shocking company
Shocking company. Our vehicle broke down due to there being no engine oil.
We had to try and find a garage for oil, pay ourselves.
We have been waiting 1 mo nth for a refund. Surprisingly .... NOT, there is no customer service phone number !!!
Thieves and liars do not use
Thieves and liars do not use ,
charging insurance when even the paperwork Cleary shows not required , charging extra for picking up where we ordered ???,
Charging for cleaning car was used for one person travelling 300 miles in one week and car was washed prior to handing back
Saying we requested windscreen cover when we didn’t , no manager available till Wednesday this is monday , they are fully aware they are totally dishonest
Attention scam! Lowcost with hidden extras
Warning! they rent cars that do not comply with the French Highway Code. My personal experience: After having recovered the vehicle and indicated all the defects on the report. I should have refused it because the registration plates were not perfectly legible. The white circle of "6" and "D" was detached. A police officer noted the violation and now that 5 months after the facts, Interrent sends me an email telling me that they named me as the origin of the facts and, note, they debit me 35 € of my bank card for administrative costs !! And the amends was 90 €, but because of the delay it amounts to 375 €! Interrent subsidiary of Europcar never again !!!
Avoid Interrent Manchester at all costs!
We read the reviews but it was too late to cancel without incurring a 50 Euro fee. We should have taken the hot and gone to a reputable firm. My wife flew in from Dubai for a pre-booked car but they said they needed a postal copy of our Dubai utility bill. Nobody gets postal copies nowadays. everything is done online. This was never mentioned before. We have never had a problem like this, not least since we are using a credit card. Probably pulling a fast one because she did not want any extras. We ought to have taken the 50 euro fee. Firms like this should be taken out of the market.
Keep away from them
I rented through Auto Europe at South Tenerife Airport. After a long day and flight I was sold extra cover and insurance without clarification the basics were already covered. My charges were more then initial rental.I was told they did not have the Volkswagen Up which is 1.2 litres or similar I had rented instead they could only offer a Fiat 500 which struggled on the mountains in Tenerife for most my holiday. They were not even bothered to show me to car which was parked about 500metres away in the airport car park. Highly unethical company.
