Rip off charges that they add onto your booking without telling you.

So recently had a trip to Spain, booked the car via Ryannair and everything was fine. got to the rental desk and was a little queue but not a long wait.

We were told that they only have a lot of old cards with loads of millage and would we like a new car. So the obvious answer for anyone would be yes to a new car. As we didn't take their insurance (As we always get our own before we go) they mention about the 1550 euro that is debited and refunded within 30 days of returning the car. (Again not normal practise but fine)

We return the car everything was fine car handed back and the deposit was refunded. Well partially refunded because of additional charges that were never mentioned to us at the start of the booking. We have since been battling with Interrent about these additional charges as they were never told to us.

SO IF YOU RENT A NEW CAR FROM INTERRENT WITH LOW MILLAGE BE WARNED THAT THEY WILL CHARGE YOU THE PRIVIALLAGE FOR HAVING THIS CAR AND NO TELL YOU. AND THE THING IS THE COST WOULDNT OF BEEN A PROBLEM IF WE WERE TOLD AT THE START OF OUR BOOKING. But the principle applies you must be told before you rent.

Upon landing in Bari airport on…help

Upon landing in Bari airport on 27.12.2019 I was refused to get a car I booked with inter-rent because of a bad online review I wrote about Gold-car in Malta. I had no idea that these two companies are now linked.

I have recorded the entire conversation as it seems as the agents were very amused by my helplessness (stuck with a little kid and no car). I am now looking to connect with anyone with similar experience, any advice on how to make a law claim will be much helpful

Deposit taken incorrectly leaving transaction charges

Picked up a car at Fuerteventura airport. The member of staff (Anthony) was rude and cocky. The Interrent desk was closed with a sign redirecting customers to the Goldcar desk. When the Interrent desk opened, I went over and asked if they were open to which Anthony replied 'what does it look like?'
Anthony took the deposit from my credit card as a debit rather than a pre-authorisation block by mistake, which meant that I have incurred £65 in transaction charges. I am after recovering the charges via a complaint with Interrent but they have yet to reply.
The car itself was badly marked on all sides and tyres were below the legal limit.
Moral of the story is - if you buy bargain basement - you get bargain basement service. I wouldn't use this company again.

Interrent Lyon.

Fraudulent is all I can say. Lyon airport. Returned car full of fuel with no damage at all. Agent accepted car and checked the fuel and damage and confirmed all was perfect! Filled in the details on an iPad but gave nothing to us.
970 euros charged to the card a few days later. Fine for not fuelling plus the cost of fuel 60 euros. 910 euros for three different areas of damage. I can’t believe this is allowed in this day and age. Avoid this company at all costs. You have been warned.

Never use this company

Never use this company or their partners Buchbinder.

Got home after the holiday with 571 GBP taken from my credit card on a 7 day rental.
Car was returned and signed off with no damage.

Rented the car from Salzburg Airport.

BEWARE!

Having used interrent 4 times recently solely because of the cheap price as I also have annual cover for car hire I totally agree to many of the comments below. We too had a missing parcel shelf experience, missing documents, scratches on the car, a missing rear window wiper, but we took photos at their car park, so they could not dispute it when we brought it back in the same condition. But you MUST be there when you check it back in. The last experience last Friday will be my very last with them as despite booking online, paying in full and receiving their contract, when I arrived at Ciampino Airport's office (Goldcar) they refused to give me a car. They said that my name on my credit card is not in full. This is the same credit card I booked and paid with and have used everytime. So I actually can't use them again even if I wanted to! They offer what they don't really want to deliver.

Absolute joke!

Absolute joke!! Internet charged me for a missing parcel shelf (100 euros) I emailed them the day I collected the car to inform them it was missing - I’ve tried on numerous occasions to resolve it but with no joy and lack of interest from interent who are part of goldcar ( another one to avoid)

My mistake was to drop the car off without making sure it was checked in my presence, when I went to the office the guy said it’ll be 30 minutes before we can look at it we are very busy.. if you do this you basically give the company a free go at ripping you off,

Interrent double charged my credit card…

Interrent double charged my credit card for my Verdi Toll charges. All my emails were confirmed as read by Goldcard, I telephoned twice and staff agreed I had been charged twice. I even received a complaint reference. But ….. to date (two months since complaining) no credit. Thankfully it was only £21 but it could have been more. Basically they stole from my account. Strongly recommend you look for another car hire company.

Be very careful. Inter-rent Marseille Airport

Regularly rent from Marseille Airport. Staff helpful (thank you LEON) and cars usually new and cheap .
BUT be very careful as we have found things always missing. This time No emergency kit. Triangle, Yellow Jacket, No paper work. No technical information book, No evidence of a tax or insurance. So you are not legal driving in France. If you can afford it pay more and go somewhere else. ...
I tried to email Inter rent this time but no complaints address on website anymore

***GOLDCAR*** so don't use

***GOLDCAR*** so don't use, effectively steal your deposit, as after 4 weeks not received. Staff at Barcelona airport were very helpful, but you know the underlying policy is to scam everyone for extras.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. Our flight was cancelled so we called them 3 days ahead to ask if we could extend our car rental by one day. They insisted that if we wanted to do this we had to pay for the extra day PLUS a "late return fee" despite the fact we were informing them that we wanted to extend our rental. Then, upon return, having filled the petrol up to max at the nearest garage just a couple of minutes down the road, they charged us 60 euros for not returning the tank full. We have been trying to get this refunded for over 2 months and they have simply refused but are unable to show us proof that we did not return it full.

After dropping off the car at Alicante…

After dropping off the car at Alicante was invoiced an extra £30 for a missing "Check-In Emergency kit" - not sure what this even is but the car was handed back in exactly the same condition. See other reviews mentioning the same; seems to be a scam.

Scammers

Liars, booked car for my spain trip, collected from girona airport. Didn't want Extra cover, but staff told me if I don't take extra cover I'll have to leave 2200 euro for small Micra. Of course they said it will be cheaper, only 45 euro instead of 80 . But on the top I need to pay airport collection fee, 35 euro and eco tax. Later I've checked t&c , airport fee is 8% of your booking up to 35 euro, also eco tax is only for diesel cars, I got petrol one.

A Bunch of Crooks

Do not use this company. They are a bunch of crooks. I hired my car for 4 days and had planned to hand it back after 3 days and 6 hours. As my flight was cancelled, I dropped it back 2 hours later than planned (but still less than 3 1/2 days hire). I was then charged 40 euros for late delivery plus an extra day's hire. What a buch of crooks!!!
DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS.

Please book your hire car elsewhere

I hired a car and picked it up at Malaga Airport, relatively easy. enjoyed my holiday and dropped the car back with a full tank of petrol the following week... fairly uneventful experience. When i checked my credit card statement the refund of petrol was £15 less than i had been charge ( i opted for full to full) when i queried it i was told i had called and requested an insurance which cost £15 in case i was unable to return the vehicle full with Petrol!!!!
I had to fill out a complaint form, to which i have never received a reply.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY- IF YOU DO, EXPECT ADDITIONAL COSTS !!!!!

Please save yourself a hassle and avoid

I have booked a car with "interrent" on doyouitaly site. When we arrive at rome ciampino airport we were transferred to "inter rent" office, and this is when our problems started. After a quite a long wait we finnaly came to the counter to talk with their agent. She checked my documents, credit card etc. filled some forms and then she started forcing me to purchase extra excess insurance, after I several times refused to purchase it she suddenly told that in this case she would have to block 1800 euros instead of agreed 950 euros, and the excess went up as well in case of theft/damage it would be 3500 euros (in agreement 1100). Even though I was not happy with this fact I agreed because I have had annual car hire excess insurance. The fact that I agreed to her new terms, suprised her and then she said that she cant give me a car without me purchasing insurance from them as this is the olny way how they make money - by selling insurance. Bunch of thieves and scammers. We did not purchase insurance from them so in the end we have to find the other way to get to our hotel. I think 1 star is a way to much

Appalling Customer Service, rude operators and fraudulent damage claims

I am still awaiting confirmation that no charges will be applied to my account due to damage to the car that was already there when I picked it up at Malaga Airport on the 29th Sept 2019 @ 22:00 that Interrent subsequently accused me of causing and informed me they were to charge 200 Euros. Thankfully when I picked up the car I checked the paperwork and took a photo of every bump, mark and scratch (no matter how small).

Multiple communications by email/phone and an incident raised via their website, well over a week now and I've not had one reply or confirmation that the fraudulent claim for damage to the car has been recinded.

Emailed them: cs(at)interrent.es
Called them: +34918340262

Total Rip Off

Booked a car with this cowboy outfit in Paris CDG via Carflexi.com

I was 6 hours late picking up my car because I made a mistake by me not Interrent. However they saw the opportunity to charge me an outrageous fee to allow me to have my car because they had marked me as a no show. If they were short of vehicles I could understand this or even a reasonable charge of 20 euros or something. This was not the case as there were plenty of spare cars available and Interrent charged me 85 EUROS!! to reactivate my booking. This fee is totally unjustifiable. RIPPED OFF

My original booking was for a 4 door Renault Twingo and I was given a Fiat 500 which was claimed to be an upgrade because its more comfortable. It may be ok for running around Paris but it was totally unsatisfactory for driving 2000km. I specifically booked a Twingo for the excellent fuel consumption. RIPPED OFF
The Fiat 500 was "So" comfortable that after a 1000km drive I ended up with a RS Sprain in my ankle.

When I collected the car it was filthy and hadn't been cleaned outside or in at all. There was rubbish in it and a layer of thick dust all over everything.

When in the booking office the heating in the office was unbearably hot and very uncomfortable.

Clearly Interrent is a cowboy outfit. I will never use you again. I'd rather walk.
