this device has defective power…
this device has defective power handling - when left uncharged for a significant amount of time it can take a very long time to turn on which is really. aproblem if you need to use it quickly.
on the last time the device just has refused to turn on - i have had it on charge for days - if was stored in a secure/safe place
i wont be using it any more

What you’re describing is typically related to deep battery discharge (over-discharge). When a device with a built-in rechargeable battery is left uncharged for a long period, the battery voltage can drop below a protective threshold. In that state, the device may:
a. take a very long time to show any signs of power
b. require extended charging before it can boot normally
c. appear “unresponsive” even though it is still recovering charge internally
This is not unique to hardware wallets — it’s a common behavior across all embedded rechargeable devices (phones, cameras, IoT devices, etc.) when batteries are deeply discharged.
2. Recommended battery maintenance for long-term storage
To avoid this situation in the future, we generally recommend:
a. Charging the device every **3–6 months** if not in use
b. Keeping battery level roughly between **40%–80%** for storage
c. Avoiding leaving the device completely uncharged for extended periods
d. Using stable 5V charging sources rather than inconsistent power supplies
These practices help maintain battery health and reduce deep discharge risk.
3. About your current situation
Since the device has not powered on even after extended charging, this may still be recoverable depending on the battery state.

I read several reviews from users of the Keystone cold wallet. Most were very positive reviews. I was thinking of returning the products when I discovered that they were manufactured in China. Keystone seemed very accommodating in that process. However, after reading several positive reviews, I decided to keep the products and give them a try. The products seem to be very well built and of good quality. I like the sturdiness of the metal seed phrase hold. I could really use another one of those. I even checked with AI to ask about the experience of other folks that are using Keystone products. The result was even more positive result.

Keystone Tabley Plus - highly recommended!
