They Don't Get Back to You
After going through the whole application and submitting interview process nobody even gets back to you.
A waste of time.

Overall I've had a positive experience as a senior Instructional Designer. I was matched to a great project. I like that the client and the talent are both vetted. I've also gotten several other contracts/projects with this same client based on that first one.
The platform is very easy to use and I love that hours and invoicing all takes place within the system. Too many clients require old-school invoices or both invoices and time tracking in a separate platform. Learnexus has combined them together and it is wonderfully easy.
The only reason I gave four stars rather than five is that it can be frustrating if you apply for a project and then never hear whether they have continued the process or the position has been filled; unless you are moving forward. The positive here is that I've provided feedback directly to Learnexus, and they are aware of the issue and are taking steps to remedy it.
One final note- I really like the video intro aspect of the process. You have 90 seconds to give a brief overview of why you are a good fit. You can include nuances about your experience that aren't always clear in a resume or portfolio. This in fact, was something the hiring manager for my first project said helped me win the contract; he heard how I would approach the project and what value I could bring. If used correctly, this can enhance the ID's chances of connecting with a client.
The Learnexus team is very supportive and responsive. I love getting notifications about potential projects that fit my experience and interests. They provide a great way to secure work with clients that are looking for reliable vendors.

They seem to be more interested in optics than hiring qualified IDs. They require candidates to create a (very old school) talking head video (seriously...who still DOES that?!)--for. every. single. project. THEN, they ask you to regurgitate in written form what you just said on your video (why you are qualified, etc., etc.,etc.)
I know of a woman who claims she spent a good deal of time creating an animated video for a gig doing video editing. She wanted to demonstrate that she had the skills to create engaging animated vids--what she says the client wanted, or at least what they allegedly had in the job description. She included all of the required information. BUT...the person at LearnNexus contacted her, and told her to just do a video where she was a talking head in front of the camera. My friend ended up not getting the job.
I was on the buyers side, and also noticed that they have all very young--and I mean YOUNG-- IDs. Perhaps that is why they require the talking head vidoes...to screen out older candidates. (Anyone over 29.) We ended up not hiring from LearnNexus after what my ID friend went through, and our own experience. I wasn't impressed with the intelligence of the folks at LearnNexus. They look pretty on camera (well, depening upon our definition of pretty), but they aren't thesharpest knives in the drawer.

Love the website and what you guys are doing for the learning community. I wish there was a way to see the vetting process and where we stand in the process. I haven’t landed a job yet and know we are qualified for most of them, so that’s just a little frustrating. Patience is key though, I’m sure I’ll land something soon 🙂
Learnexus makes receiving payments easy and, as a contractor, this is very important. The ability to receive payments within a few days of project completion via PayPal is great. Note Learnexus charges a commission to receive payments. There is a good variety of potential contracts available for those looking for partirme, full-time, hourly and per project work. Customer support is responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this service!
Learnexus has reimagined the project procurement process for learning and development opportunities. They have solid business relationships with industry-leading organizations that seek top talent. Their project requisitions are carefully selected and curated for best-in-class L&D professionals. I highly recommend Learnexus for learning leaders that seek top-tier assignments that are designed for innovative L&D professionals.
Learnexus doesn't just post jobs and move on to other business. They stay available to offer guidance on proposals, answer questions, and offer support. Also, they are continuously seek feedback on its online platform in order to improve it.
