Customer service can definitely…

Customer service can definitely improve. Ask a simple question, get nothing but the automatic reply and nothing else for days. Their DVDs are often vanilla too, despite sometimes having special features advertised on the back. My advice would be to purchase elsewhere

Tracking? we dont know her. Packaging? YOLO baby!

Ordered two figures from Madman (a Pop up Parade and 1/7th scale) total value was around 300 aud.
In the past I've done volunteer work for madman and gotten ordered free dvds as a bonus for my work and nothing has gone wrong. I've always thought of Madman as a good aussie company.

This has changed.

Madman does not provide any tracking details to customers despite receiving them from Auspost, which is frankly frightening to experience when waiting for a 300 dollar package.
There was no notice of when my delivery would arrive only word that it was 'invoiced and despatched' at some point and remained like this for over a week.

I emailed their customer serive and was (very nicely!) informed that an attempt as delivery was made and my parcel was now at "my local post office" which could've meant multiple places. When I did get the parcel it was honestly really bad. It was an unmarked brown cardboard box loosely taped together and I had the worst feeling of my life, I've ordered figures before. They come packed far better than this I've never had a broken figure before but I was honestly afraid this would be my first experience with that and this was my first ever scale figure. The only cushioning was a metric ton of packing peanuts and thankfully both figures were fine but the fact there was no indication that this parcel was fragile or literally worth hundreds of dollars was appaling to me.
I hope that Madman can put more care into how they send out and package their figures because I'm going to be buying from AmiAmi and through Buyee exclusively now. DHL is worth every penny as they notify you every step of the way. One day I'll try madman again and I hope I can give a 5 star review.

SLooooooooow service

Don't bother ordering Japanese figures with this company. I can understand shipping times, but even using the slowest of shipping; seamail, figures you would expect to arrive to you at the very least a few months after they release in Japan. With Madman? Nope. Good luck getting anything on time. The release dates they have for things are placeholders and when those dates come and pass they just push the date back another month. The last few orders I've had from them have taken over 6 months PAST thier Japanese release date. It's not like you're saving money using them either, they jack up the price but don't charge you postage. Save your time, spend the same amount to get the item quickly direct from a Japanese seller.

Fraudsters

They took my order and charged me, then didn't ship anything. I emailed them and they told me they shouldn't have had the listing in the first place as it was already sold out. By the time I checked with them the item was impossible to get. They then told me that they might give me a refund.

Never even attempted to contact me when they realised there was a problem. Useless customer service that doesn't respond.

Main problem: insufficient & ambiguous communication

DVD order 23/11/21 by credit card - 24/11/21 debited Madman Australia
16/12/21 release date for DVD on Madman site
29/12/21 & 25/1/22 separate email replies from Madman NZ & Madman Australia to
email queries for expected date of delivery. These were polite but not followed up with
any updates
No tracking service provided on package / Order date gave as: 26/1/22 not 23/11/21

Overall: consider Madman Entertainment online DVD experience as unsatisfactory and would NOT recommend or use this service again

Very happy customer!

I am very pleased with the customer service and quick response times. I had a very lovely lady helping me, Natalie and I couldn’t recommend her enough. Please don’t listen to the bad reviews. I got my order sent within a few days and tracking details. Madman is a legit and helpful service I recommend to anyone who enjoys anime or collectibles like me. Thanks Madman Australia! 😄

HOW LONG DOSE IT TAKE TO PROCESS A ORDER

I ordered 5 light novels back in march 2020 and payed for it by money order and they still have not processed the money order and sent the books. customer serves is a joke, you email them to get answers and they don't bother responding to your concerns. the money order have one of those trackers on it from australia post and they said the company had put a hold on their mail during lockdown. AND DELIVER A ORDER?????????

Tried a phishing scam with me

I have never dealt with this company before and only heard about them when I received an email from "Paypal" saying that I had ordered My Hero Academia: Vigilantes (Manga) Vol. 06. When I hovered over the hyperlink that was for "paypal.com" and "orders @ paypal.com" it actually was for madman.com.au and orders @ madman.com.au. If you want to deal with a company who tries to steal your Paypal information them go ahead.

You guys are usually wonderful

You guys are usually wonderful, but today in cinemas I had quite the frustrating experience.

Event Cinemas Liverpool - 25/11/17 - 1pm Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel. The movie had subtitles that would go to the top of the screen when the characters were taking up the bottom, except the top of the screen wasn't visible. In a god damn cinema. I literally could not read half of what was being said and had to sit through the whole two hour movie losing $20 because of this. Thanks for ruining the most hyped anime movie in the last 3 years.

Please make sure the resolution of your GOD DAMN videos fits the god damn cinema screen, with love, a very very annoyed fan.

Absolutely stellar service

Absolutely stellar service. I'm in the UK and ordered blu rays from them (based in Australia) several times. From date of posting to date of arrival they took 6 days. When coming from Aus to UK I consider that pretty darned good! Will definitely use them again for any blu rays I can't get elsewhere.
