SCAM!

There is ZERO indication of “progress”. My cash back is still in the same status it has been for 4 months. Their customer service is complete useless and just continue to give you the typical canned messages. Avoid at all costs.

Made my Bloomingdale’s purchase on 11/5/21 and I still haven’t received my cash back. I have emailed customer service numerous times to no avail. My cash back still says “pending”! Avoid at all costs!

Usually, it takes about 90 days for the cash back to be available- it depends on different merchants as they have different speeds on reviewing the shopping information due to some merchants waiting for the return date to pass, in case of customers return or cancel their orders and as soon as we got your inquiry, we followed this up with the merchant and we can see that your cash back is already progressing to payable status and this order should be available soon. They owe me $1500. Maxrebates is a complete scam!

They owe me $1500 from over 30 different purchases. I haven't seen a penny of it. I have reached out to the vendors from whom I purchased and all of them, from Ssense to Mr. Porter and Matchesfashion, confirm they have paid the company. Problem is, Maxrebates doesn't pay you. Of all the cashback sites, this one is by far the worst. They do not adhere to their own policies, the most important of which is that they do not pay out after 90 days. Their customer service team is big on excuses and zero on help. In fact, they are the most unhelpful and impersonal in the industry. They refuse to give you their names, even after you repeatedly ask them. I've had multiple cashback transactions disappear for no valid reason. They tell you to send them all of the necessary information to reclaim the cashback, but once you do, they don't actually do anything. I've had 15 items pending in missing cashback for months! Cashback continues to disappear, so many that I can't keep track of it anymore. Maxrebates is without question a complete scam!

In regards to pending cash back, sometimes it could take longer than 90 days to take effect because of different store return policies, and order cancellations and if the cash back remains ‘Pending’ after 90 days, we follow this up with the merchant.

Also, disappearing cash back could mean that the orders are invalid. These could be a number of reasons, like returned/canceled orders, or fraud. However, we need the necessary information on these orders to validate so we could appeal it to the merchant.

Lastly, we do mention that the missing cash back claims process can take up to 2 months because the merchant needs to fully review the order information to check its eligibility before passing this to our team. However, please note that the decision to honor the cash back lies with the merchant as they are the ones who decide on eligibility and provide the funds that we give to you as cash back.

We advise trying clearing all browser data before every visit to our site as well as disabling extensions.

It is not easy to get your cashback from maxrebates.com.

Update (12/15/2021): After addressing this issue here online, the maxrebates.com decided to compensate me and replied the following response. To be fair I will be putting their response in here as well and raise my 1-star to 3-star. However, for me this was a show stopper to be able to use their service in the future.

My original complaint (12/13/2021).
Their website advertises that they would give me $20 cash back if I clicked and purchased on a certain date on a certain product, but for bogus reasons they give only $10 without any explanation.

When I clicked through a product from maxrebates.com, the ADVERTISED CASHBACK was $20. I clicked I finished my purchase. But for bogus reasons the decision was to give $10.

It is quite simple, one cannot advertise something and all of a sudden change their mind and not honor their advertisement.

Use other alternatives

I decided to give MaxRebates a try for the first time back in August and I kept getting the runaround till they denied me today.

I booked a hotel from Agoda through MaxRebates. It didn't track, like others have complained, and I contacted support. First response was that the claim was denied because "there were no transaction amount details in the screenshot." I provided the relevant information and was told they would submit this to the merchant and update me once the missing cash back is available.

I check back a month later and the status says awaiting merchant update. I contacted MaxRebates recently and was informed "the claim got denied due to an Order Credited to Another Channel. This means there will be no cash back for this order and the merchant's decision is final." I questioned what this other channel was and they responded that that information wasn't disclosed.

This seems highly dubious as I was getting the run around and I will not be using MaxRebates again.

Like previous complaints, first order didn't even track, been over a month and still waiting for a resolution.

Decided to pull the trigger and place my first order through their cashback portal and its been well over a month and my first order still hasn't been tracked. I did everything I had to do, send them multiple e-mails and even filed a missing cash back claim directly on their site but eventually got denied for reason been that they never received the uploaded proof of receipt however if I visit their site and review the claim I still see the thumbnail of the image of the receipt I uploaded on their site so clearly I uploaded the receipt. Also the replies I get from them are basically they will contact the merchant but then that's its and I never heard from them since...

No tracking. Don’t use

I have used maxrebates for over 10 Southwest Airlines flight purchases in the last 3 months. No tracking. I give them one star bc the at least get back to me when I write email to service. But it’s always “submit more tickets”. I do t want a service that requires me to submit a missing claim ticket for every single transaction.

Fraud! Scam!

Have been using for a short time. Have $500 plus coming to me. Today I tried to sign in and it says my account is deactivated and for me to send them an email. I did and got no response. I have sent them messages on Facebook and they do not respond. They have no phone number or address. I have tried researching them and can not find anything. This has to be a scam. There is no way to get any resolution. I think this is by design.

never paid the rebate. it's been about 9 months now.

8/4/21 - Update: I received a reply from MaxRebates with their cookie cutter response saying that the rebate has been sorted out and now has a completed status, but the rebate still shows pending and is still not available in my account.

WORST Customer Service!!!

I have been a member of this website since 2020, I have tried to make many purchases, but ONLY SOME OF THE TRANSACTIONS get tracked.

WORST PART - CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have sent multiple emails to contact @ maxrebates . com, but no one ever responds back.

Half the time their missing cash back claims functionality doesn't work.

Definitely, one of the WORST cash back websites out there.

I have cashback from November, 2020 that haven't been paid. These are mostly completed hotel stays and I have proof. It's good that I didn't use this portal much, as they have no intention of paying out. Don't get lured by the higher cashback. Avoid maxrebates

Appears to be a scam. Customer service unresponsive!

I have been waiting on $124 rebate from an eBay purchase back in January. According to their website, it should have gone to payable at 90 days. It did not. Six, seven messages sent to customer service, who is completely unresponsive. I am initiating a Better Business Bureau complaint. Not hopeful based on the other reviews here.

I have changed my review.

First I thought the money will not be paid. But they delivered and the cashback amount I had was huge.

You guys have to be patient.

What you need to know is, first you need to make sure your order is tracked. The only different thing with Maxrebates from the others is that it just takes a little bit more time for the money to be payable.

I am so sorry to the team for talking bad about them earlier.
