The response to the issue that I had created, was immediate and constructive. All resolved on the same day in a short time line, therefore no impact on business operations.

From the initial phone call I knew this company was the one I wanted to work with. Flexible, agile and always ready to listen.

Implementation went very well, couple of hic ups but sorted out very quickly.

Went above and beyond in their support and they still do.

Highly recommend this company.

News Slave purchasers beware

The product news slave is good at what it does for you as far as managing paper rounds and orders.
I have a major issue with this companies ethics though.
They think it is ok to lock there software to your computers network card on the MAC address,
which on the surface of it seems ok until you have a motherboard failure or Network card failure then when you replace whatever has failed suddenly there software no longer works as it sees the MAC address now been different.
If you don’t have a current maintenance contract they refuse to give you the activation code to unlock there software even though you paid for the license to use it in the first place and the failure you had is nothing to do with them at all. Who gave them
The right to lock there software to the one and only in the world MAC address which belongs to you. I definitely wasn’t asked did I want this.
So you have paid for the use of this item and they refuse to unlock there software unless you give them More money.
You as I am, may be a computer engineer/ software developer so, your quite capable of doing most things with a computer so You don’t need to keep renewing maintenance contracts until there is something you cannot sort,
I have been held to ransom by this company twice now due to machines failing over the last 10 years and there in 2 shops.
I don’t believe I should have had to part with £500 each time Total £1,000, I have had a network card failure and it simply is nothing to do with there software, or it shouldn’t be, they have decided to make it so it is for the purpose of copyright protection in fact personally I think they should be prosecuted in court for disabling there product due to the failure of a circuit board which has nothing to do with them at all.
Anyone out there buying news slave, be warned, this is what they do.

I like the way they say I hadn't realised the license was for 1 pc only.
I also like the way they say they support you with PC failures, well what they mean is in reference to there software not your actual pc failure itself.
I dont need news slave software support to install a new network card in my machine, I've installed 1000's so no support needed thanks but now they disable your software.
I haven't said or inferred the license was for more than 1 PC ever in my above statement for which they are making reference to, a throw you off the trail trick I guess.
I am fully aware that the software only works on one PC hence all the information I've put on here and that's why it was purchased twice in the beginning, to go in two shops, actually perhaps it was purchased three times in the very beginning as one shop which used to be a news agent turned into a card shop only and has been so for a long time.

So as the reply below shows, they admit they sell you a license and they admit that if you need to change your network card because its broken they will disable your software and will not give you the code to re-enable it again until you give then £500 for a support contract.
Scenario, you have a PC and you put a separate network card in it.
you pay NCL for a license to use there software, your separate network card fails and is nothing to do with anything else, you change it and there software will no longer work and if you do not keep paying them Maintenance each year, then they will hold you to ransom for 1 years maintenance money.

THIS IS A NETWORK CARD AND NOTHING TO DO WITH THERE SOFTWARE AND IF IT BREAKS THEY STOP YOU FROM BEEN ABLE TO USE THERE PROGRAM UNLESS YOU GIVE THEM £500!!!!
THEY HAVE DONE THIS TWICE £1000

If I had a problem and needed there support I would telephone up and buy a support agreement and indeed when we have had problems we have done exactly that in the past, fair is fair on that, hence the 8 incidents they refer to but to have paid for your license to have use of the software withheld purely because a different part of your pc breaks, a part that totally has nothing to do with them and you have full legal rights to change your own network card in your own pc and have not infringed any legislation law or anything, to be told I'll have £500 (for a support agreement you dont want) please if you want your software working again is downright below the belt business.

One last thing about this Second to None Support they refer to, on one of the calls I was told only a certain person was able to deal with the issue, and I had to wait for him which was a whole day, they arranged a time, which lapsed and so I rang and I was told that person was busy and I had to end up getting a bit Firm with them over having a booked appointment and no-one was there to do it, this incident went on to a further day and the same happened at which point I started to get strong, then the owner or top manager logged on and did the work needed.
This is there "second-to-none" support they hold you to ransom for.
Your eyes are now opened to what really goes on.

Hello Kevin, I am sorry you feel this way. It is unfortunate that you hadn't realised the software licence only works on one pc. We are more than happy to support customers with their pc failures provided they are on paid support. The times you have spoken about you had opted out of support. You have also failed to point out that opting back into support gives you 12 months problem free support. I notice that since you have opted back in, you have used the support 8 times and on each occasion the issue was resolved immediately.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to explain how our second-to-none support service works.
