Received a phone call to say that the door…
Got a phone call to say that the door installation has been put forward.
I agreed has I was going on holiday.
The installation didn't take too long and was very satisfied with a job well done and was surprised that I didn't have to dispose of the old rotten door, has it saved me a lot of hassle.
Thanks again.
'Sulking and 'office staff don't know what they are doing'
Writing on behalf of Helen Tales:
Initial contact was through a stand Barbara was at inside Morrissons at Mayo Avenue. She explained how she would take details and a member of the office team would contact us on the Monday. Rightly so they did and an appointment was made for someone to come out to measure up the window, the window was measured and specifications discussed, this included having a UPVC window sill on the inside, they requested a deposit at this stage, a second appointment was made then to finalise the measurements, again asking for a UPVC sill and this was also ok’d at this appointment as well. The day before the window was due to be fitted, contact was made regarding times to expect members of the team to be at our address for the window to be fitted, we had been told it would be at 8am. They day of the window fitting, we got a call at 8.01am to say they will not be able to make this as they are currently running over a previous job from the day before and that ‘you can go out in the morning we are looking to be with you around 12 noon’. a few hours later, another call, stating that they will be unable to make the 12 noon today and can we move the window fitting to the next day, this time stating that ‘the people in the office do not know what they are doing, they double book us for fittings every day’ I stated I wanted the window in on the day as planned as arrangements out of a window fitting had already been made around this appointment, we seemed to be made like we had been the inconvenience regarding this, we did explain that another member of family had booked time off work due to this because of a resident dog in the premises which we had informed them about during the initial phone call and was told this would not be an issue. The team of Andy and Mark arrived to fit the window later explain that no one would work with Mark because ‘he was a sulker’. When explaining which window was required fitting and asking were was best to park, we had been greeted with a negative attitude from the word go and felt like they were trying to intimidate. When they came face to face with the resident dog, we had been told ‘can you not just shut the dog in a room upstairs’ we did explain that she usually has the run of the house and have never required to be locked away. I think your staff forgot that they were a guest in our house and maybe they should have been locked away, attitude seemed to change when I said that we would just take the dog for a walk instead to which we got ‘oh no its ok you don’t have to do that’. I asked about the internal windowsill, again both ok’d on previous visits to be then told ‘no, it is not on the job description we can’t do it and if you do it would be around another week and would cost me over £150’ nobody explained if this was in the costings originally quoted or if I have paid for a service I have not received. When fitting the window, amongst themselves they said, ‘that will need to come off’ and preceded to tear and make a mess of the wall paper, leaving some when the widow had been fitted dangling down, none of the team asked if it was ok for it to be removed, just stated that the ‘internal plastic fitting would not stick to the paper’. Upon leaving I was told I would get the guarantee within a few days and that someone will call within five minutes to take the rest of the payment, appeared to be immediately. When we went out into the garden there was screws left over the floor, and also the plastic corner protectors just strewed all over the garden and out the garden were we also found remains of the original wooden window frame. If star rating could be broken down Barbra would have got 5, the team who fitted the window have a lot to be desired and I can’t possibly rate. Still awaiting guarantee, received deposit invoice weeks after fitting and still not got full payment receipt nor guarantee.
SATISFIED CUSTOMER
Our installer, James, carried out the installation efficiently and with the minimum of fuss. All waste material were removed and protection used where work was carried out inside. Highly delighted with Northern Trade Windows.
The price was affordable
The price was affordable, sample of materials showed it's pluses.

A 1st class experience
Good communication from start to finish

Came on date agreed , 8.30 on site, wet day but didn’t dampen their spirits
Carpet and furniture covered , cleaned up well
All done in 2 days
Good product, house certainly warmer
No problem in recommending ntw and fitters
Excellent service
We recently had our windows installed. Luke and Steven in the office were very helpful and Mark the fitter was brilliant. Would highly recommend there quality products and installation
Our new conservatory
Recently begun using our new conservatory built by NTW. The team had to cope with appalling weather during the build but despite difficult conditions did a first class job and completed in good time. Very pleased with the end product, would thoroughly recommend them.
Professional Job
Arrived on time, were very efficient, tidy and professional. Four old windows replaced in four hours. We had a problem with condensation on the old kitchen windows which has now almost gone. Would definitely recommend.
5 Star Service
Just had my window, bi folds and new doors fitted and I could not be happier. From the moment the salesperson came to see me to everything being fitted it’s taken less than 3 weeks and dealt with in a very professional manner. I cannot recommend them enough.
Great service
Great service. Door installed without issues. Friendly staff and overall very pleased with everything.
Really bad experience.
Lots of things gone wrong over the 5 years I've had them. Been out 5 ot 6 times. Each time it's an effort. Rude staff, poor communication. Lastest time they blamed yale locks , who blamed them. Refuse to pay me the locksmith fees which I incurred as they couldn't secure the door for a week.
I have the email from yale that the door needs to be weather tight and this door wasn't, causing the damage.
As you can see by NTW reply, they like to get personal and very defensive. Maybe they should install their windows and doors properly first time?
Regret using these, they slagged off a local window company called tong windows and doors, said they were cowboys but I bet theyed of done a better job.
Buyer beware.

A truly brilliant experience.
A truly brilliant experience.
From the initial introduction to Northern Trade Windows by Barbara, in the Bury precinct, to the installation of my beautiful new windows fitted by an amazing team of fitters, whose work is of the very highest standard.
Thank you so much to Northern Trade windows for your courteous help, speed and efficiency at every stage of the process.

new back door
Quoted for a new back door, they came a few weeks later to fit. Friendly and polite fitters.
Very happy with our windows
Very happy with our windows. Short lead time from order to installation as units are made in house. We replaced most of our old double glazed windows wood frame windows with UPVC. No more draughts, home is warmer and quieter and no need to keep painting the frames. NTW listened to what we wanted and made good suggestions that we are pleased about such as handle style and safety window. The installation was quick and team were friendly and considerate.
Mark and Matthew 5*
Mark and Matthew were fantastic at fitting our Bi-Fold doors!!! Turned up on time, put down all protective covers both inside and out and kept everything as clean as possible. They went above and beyond to make sure the fit, look and finish was beyond satisfaction. Friendly and professional and made sure everything was right before they tidied up and finished.
Highly recommend and would use again!
Excellent
We shopped around for a few quotes for our new windows and patio door and although NTW were not the cheapest, after doing some research we discovered that they use the best profile and glass for their products, the installation team were excellent and a friendly couple of lads and completed the installation in the 2 days.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend NTW,
Don't be confused by the name "Northern Trade Windows" as they offer a full retail installations service for homeowners
Windows and patio doors
Great service Mark and Mathew were very experienced and knowledgable.
Arrived on time.
Worked hard all day.
Very clean workers. Cleaning up well before leaving.
We had windows and patio doors replace. Extremely satisfied with everything they have done.
We would certainly recommend Northern Trade Windows.

The fitting was excellent - but the aftercare is extremely poor.
The fitting was excellent - but the aftercare is extremely poor.
I have been having issues with drafts from both doors I had fitted and requested they come and take a look.
However, they informed me they could not without the paper copy of the invoice. It was a paper copy, a digital copy was never issued, so of course by this point I have misplaced it. Beyond this, it appeared they could not help me.
After advising them that they a have a legal requirement for their accounts to be maintained for a period of time, therefore they must have a copy of my invoice, they confirmed they could request a copy on my behalf (this would take 14 days). Good, honest companies, would offer this information themselves, not withhold it.
The copy invoice was requested on the 20th October and I am still sat here on the 11th December with no copy invoice or service booked (this review was written prior to getting a response later that morning with a service date of the 3rd January).
With a draft coming through both doors and unnecessary additional heating costs.
Extremely disappointed.
--------------------------------------
Poor response to a dissatisfied customer.
Your service manager did state they will (not try) request a copy invoice and that it would take 14 days, after that point a service would take place. As of course, you have a duty to retain all accounting paperwork (invoices included) for a period of time.
Although this is in no means a review against your service manager as he can only do as your internal procedures allow.
As for the emotional psychology involved in the written response for other readers – I greatly appreciate and sympathise with loss, a large proportion of the population does, especially in recent years. He did state a bereavement, no specifics as you have done so for the emotional response, and return on the 30th. However, from the date of request from your customers perspective, having had to chase on the 28th November, after being confirmed the request would take 14 days from the 20th October, to then being told it would be the 30th November, to then have to chase again on the 11th December, is not reasonable.
As for “make sure we don’t attend service calls for products that our not ours” – I have previously had a call from your sales team asking if I was further interested in windows after having had the doors fitted. In that call I actually mentioned the doors needed looking at, he also said I must have my guarantee number, yet, clearly he knew I had a previous purchase from yourselves. Therefore, I assume you have a database of some sort.
I am sorry your Managing Director had to go out of his way to locate his customers file. I struggle to see what benefit that statement actually aids towards a disgruntled customer. It further adds to the point that you can locate, and prove the location of the fitting of your products. And the information could have been located a lot sooner than it has been.
I would suggest taking onboard feedback rather than further aid to the dissatisfaction – provide digital copies, which I have had from every other company in terms of work, except for yourselves. Or checking other security details on your database to locate your customers file.
We will be going elsewhere for the service.
Your whole response is a contradiction and further aids to the disappointment.
May I also add that by sharing my last name - this is a data breach.

It’s nice to still find a long-running family business who values their customers and offers a high level of customer service, whilst still being competitively priced. Jon in the trade sales team is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to help.
Happy to Recommend
Had a back door fitted this morning, Beautiful door fitted by the most friendly, polite and proficient fitters at their job. (Thank you lads, alas I can't remember your names!) Would highly recommend for a well done job at a reasonable price. Thanks NTW.
