I raised with nutshell that the year when my licence issued was pulled through incorrectly from a comparison site and I wasn't able to change it before buying the policy. Although they advised I didn't need to update this, I used their live chat feature to get the year updated and actually received a £5 refund (held licence for year longer than it had pulled through).
Very happy with the customer service they provided so updated review to a 5/5!

Cheap price, cheap service. Claim I didn't declare all claims as the date I put was the accident date and the date held was a day later when I made the claim. Can't email or phone them only use live chat. Only problem is I cant log in to their website as the page won't recognise my details or let me reset my password. Absolutely useless. Now they want to cancel my insurance.

I cleaned my cache on my device and resolved it eventually, that now my insurance is live. I read a variety of positive and negative reviews on Trust Pilot but took the chance. I hope it is a good company to be with and will review again next year.

Unable to contact this company despite being in chats with wait times of 10min and 5 mins, over 1 hour and no response whatsoever. I need to cancel my policy as I have sold my car, Would not use again. Update: was contacted the next day and advisor sorted out the cancellation to my satisfaction so rating improved accordingly.

I changed my car was charged a 180 pounds more then when I swapped my number plates they charge me 80 pounds again I read on the internet that nutshell did not charge for number plate change absolutely robbery it's nearly the same price as car insurance again thanks for nothing nutshell won't ever get insurance with you again

The ease of taking out my car insurance online, the price and value for money, and the response from customer service team in sending all the information and appropriate documents that I needed. I've had a few online only car insurance policies, and I feel that this was the quickest and the most simplest insurance company to deal with. I would definitely recommend nutshell car insurance. So far so good.

I took out a policy in good faith, but sadly my old car (owned for over 4 years) gave up the ghost within the first month of the policy. I cancelled online (no assistance required or received) and was charged a £60 fee for the privilege. I realise it was in the small print and that this is probably industry standard, but insult to injury springs to mind - £60 for what? I would have happily suspended the policy and then re-activated it when I found another car, but that option was not on offer.

Following my unfavourable review highlighting my dissatisfaction with the application of a £60 cancellation fee, I was contacted by Nutshell Customer Services. They have considered the circumstances of my case and kindly offered to waive the entire fee on this occasion.
I am happy to report these events and have updated my rating according.

I would give it zero stars if I could. Apparently they do not reduce the cover of insurance down from comprehensive to laid up insurance for those people that find themselves medically unfit to drive i.e. no driver but me as the policy holder until I get my licence back. They simply said that since I now do not have a driving licence they will not provide any cover whatsoever and cancelled my policy and will charge me £60 cancellation fee, deducted from what credit I have left. The end. I have since found Laid-up car insurance elsewhere, thankfully but it was unnecessarily stressful. I have emailed 'Vicky' my policy details, who after the horse has bolted, gives the same stock reply to most people complaining on here. What's point in having virtual chat assistants that don't even know how to spell their own names, manning the only way to contact Nutshell. We take out insurance because of unexpected things happening in life. And then you find out that the insurance provider simply cancels your insurance if the situation does not fit the norm. I will not be using Nutshell ever again.
