Coming from a previous college of not proper teachers, we knew the first day from being at Octillion that we were in the right place with the right person who wants to teach, everything is explained exceptionally well and your questions are never left un figured out, would highly recommend this gas centre you won’t find somewhere else with a better standard.

Octillion was amazing to attend and use to begin and further my career in the electrical industry and has been a mixture of learning and development at the highest level, from training and coaching from start to finish. From someone having no background in this industry, the level of knowledge I have gathered from the course not to mention passing the course also has been amazing and a real pleasure to attend. With this course I have also found a full time job in the electrical engineering industry with no experience, so is definitley a course and training corporation I would consider. And will also be back for my level 3 next year. Thank you to all the team for there continuous support.

The staff here are welcoming and professional. The facilities are perfect, tea room toilets etc great. Teachers brilliant farooq knows how to get instruction across and knows if you might not understand something In which case he breaks things down excellently , I would go back there every time , excellent training and test facility.

Coming on my gas reassessment I was expecting nothing but boring reminder and quick test, just how it’s done typically. I was wrong! Farooq got some nice skills on how to entertain and teach at the same time and that’s what I like. Not only refreshed my knowledge but also learnt many new things (just like every day on the field😁) that will definitely use in my business. Well done guys! Be definitely recommending you! I hate ACS reassessments. I always feel robbed and used after completing them. Bureaucrats making money off the backs of installers to justify their own existence. It's just something you need to tolerate to work in this industry.

Finally, after 30 years in this industry I found a decent ACS centre with views & values similar to my own.

The classes are very small, you get the personal touch. Over the 3-4 day reassessment course, 1 full day + 2 hours on Tuesday was dedicated to training, refreshing your brain, expanding your knowledge. Even I learned a few new things during the refresher training.

The tests were much easier to cope with, having completed such in-depth training.

The last day is all about practical hands-on assessment in the booths.

Unlike every other reassessment I've ever done, which usually consists of finding 5 faults on a wall of pipes, (always with the hidden compression inside a wall) and describe how you would gas rate an appliance, job done.
Octillion actually tests you on all the appliances you are resitting.
For me, I had to find faults, test burner pressure, calculate gas rates in m3/h and kW rating - Gross and Net, on 6 separate appliances, plus flues and chimneys.
I worked on a freestanding gas cooker with lid, a Vokera combi, a instantaneous water heater, a floor standing open flue potterton kingfisher, a flueless wall fire.
I really liked that I could fix many of the faults.
I found that gratifying. Dunno why.

The practical tests were the most in-depth I've ever had. But I don't feel overworked or stressed out because of it, on the contrary, I feel I've been thoroughly tested and it's given me a refreshed sense of confidence and competence.

If, like me, you're feeling disheartened and jaded from the usual ACS or reassessment centres, and want something different, then try Octillion.
I really can't recommend them enough.

Octillion is an amazing training provider. I have studied Gas and Unvented Hot Water here, both experiences were brilliant. Farooq, who delivers the courses has a great depth of knowledge and huge enthusiasm for the Plumbing and Heating industry which makes the training both informative and fun.
Very few training providers give the time and energy to its users like Octillion do, who pride themselves on student experience and success.
I would recommend Octillion to anybody who's starting out in the industry and for experienced engineers who are looking to renew qualifications.
