Beware! I have a lot of fine, curly hair, neck-length. I used Olaplex No.3 just one time, and it nearly destroyed my hair. My hair was like straw after using it, and since that one use a month ago, I have spent a small fortune on expensive deep conditioners, all to no avail. My hair is now dry and frizzy, and I've never had frizz like this in my quite long life. I'm writing this as I am sitting with yet a new deep conditioner on my hair.

This product is supposed to fix your hair but it did the opposite. At first I thought it needed time to work so I kept using it. It ended up drying my hair out worse than it was before. I had to have 5 inches cut off to correct the damage to my ends. Their advertising is FALSE. Do not try this product if you need hair repair help.

I have just found out that others have experienced hair loss whilst using Olaplex. I can’t believe it- I have been losing hair for about two years but never considered it must be my actual hairdresser recommended products. I have been told it must be stress induced but I have always had lovely hair and now it’s ruined and I have actually lost hair follicles and so will have permanent hair loss. I really hope something is done about this.

Couldn't understand why my hair had been falling out until my partner messaged a link . I only started using this product because my hairdresser said it was good . My hair has now been falling out since last year so damaged. Horrible to think this could be the cause .

I have a Lot of Long hair that can be somewhat unruly and a bit tangled when wet. My granddaughter recommended this product and the sales representative at Ulta was most convincing and so on December 30, 2022 I purchased the two small bottles of shampoo and conditioner on display. Didnt really notice any real change for the better right away but i loved the way the shampoo distributed so easily through all my long hair with very little product and so i just remained diligent to give it time to heal my hair. My hair began to get really tangled worse then normal after washing also began to look and feel like "straw" i was actually convinced it was my water softener not working or rejuvenating enough so i called the service man to come see about it. But they said it was perfect and tested my water for me and it was perfect. I could no longer even get a wet brush through my hair without spending 20 minutes slowly trying to detangle my hair slowly because brushing through the tangles caused handfuls of hair to fall out. Became so obvious that i Even got my husband to look at it and try to get a comb through it in hopes he would realise for it to be that bad something had to be wrong with the water. He asked me if it could be my shampoo and i said "I don't see how it could be. It's suppose to make it better not worse. My granddaughter loves it, Has to be the water" Then today i stumbled across a report about women using this product that have had the same result as me. Dry, brittle, breaking, straw like hair that is falling out! I'm going to stop using it. And do some Research on the ingredients (i should have done that first) i hope my hair will return to a better place and that the recent hair loss will grow back. I'm so disappointed. But I'm glad i learned of these issues. I don't know maybe it's just certain hair types that seem to have trouble since i do see positive reviews also and my granddaughter loves it and we have very similar hair. But then she is only 14 so there's the tic toc peer pressure power. I am 58 and just want healthy hair.

Absolutely never had anything but amazing results with this product line and I've been using it since it came out.

I suffered from extremely flakey skin on my scalp for several months and could not work out what may have caused it. I’ve never had this issue before and after a lot of time and patience, my scalp finally returned to normal. The only thing that changed in my standard haircare routine during those months was the use of Olaplex.

I disregarded this link for ages, as Olaplex is used in hairdressers and feels so lovely to use. However, the recent lawsuits have made me consider that perhaps my initial assumptions were right - perhaps it was this product that had left my scalp so badly affected.

Caused bald patches and thinning hair and breakage.

I experienced hair loss and irritation.

Been using Olaplex No 4P for six months. It keeps my highlights from getting brassy. My hair is soft, thick and curly. Great product.

Please, please do your research before using this product. There are thousands of people all saying the same thing. Olaplex CAN cause your hair to fall out. Please look out for the groups on Facebook just to see the damage this product has caused. This is all types of hair not just bleached or damaged.

I’ve been using Olaplex shampoo and conditioner for about 6 months now and love it. My hair is now in great condition and can go for 4 days between washes.
You only need a very small amount of each therefore lasts for ages.

I wish i could put 0 stars but i can't.. Olaplex is the worst thing you can put on ur hair ... mine got sooo fragile and thin .. i had huge bald spots bcz of their products .. i stopped olaplex 4 months ago and guess what ? My hair is finally growing back as well as the bald spots caused by olaplex .. i don't know what they put inside to make it this bad ! i really dnt know !!

I startedy journey with Olaplex 2 years ago. It went great at first but in the last 6 months I have lost most of my hair due to Olaplex causing breakage.

My hair was breaking off everytime after I use Olaplex. When I stop using it the hair breakage also stopped.

Please if you start noticing extreme hair loss and damage, please stop using it. I don't wish this experience on anyone!

Horrendous avoid, destroyed my scalp and hair after one use, bad reaction lumps all over my head like painful boils 7 weeks since incident still in agony, hair looks like it is dying never use again awful product should come with warnings ⚠️

I would give it no star if possible. Terrible. Hair loss and frizz damage. Ruined my hair. Called Olaplex and sent receipts they want originals I paid with cc and they don't want that. Doesn't matter because even if sent refund it will not restore my hair. I have before and after photos to prove amount of damage. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT

Olaplex is awful. It made my hair fall out. When I contacted the company, because I have 1/2 bottle of No. 5 and brand new bottle of No. 8, they want a receipt of purchase. Who keeps receipts 6 months to a year? I offered to send them the product, but they still would not help.

Scalp issues. Blisters and scabs. Even on the nape of my neck. Still itching and dry 1+ month after using the line. First introduced at the Salon and loved it. Purchased the line and oh my word…miserable since using. Nope, not for me.

If I could give this minus stars I would. I’m a 20F who normally has thick and healthy. Hair, I got Olaplex for Christmas thinking it will improve my hair, oh how wrong this was… it made all my hair fall out and it wasn’t even damaged before. Now I have large clumps of hair coming out every time I have a shower. I have lost more then half my hair, I can’t even put it in a ponytail anymore. I’m certain it’s Olaplex as this happened immediately after using no. 0 and 3 as per the instructions, I even discussed it with my doctor and had blood work done, it’s definitely nothing health related and even my doctor agrees it must be the Olaplex as that is the common denominator. Unfortunately I have found I am far from the only one experiencing this, there is a Facebook support group for Olaplex hair loss with more then 2000 members. Frankly I think the company is unethical and disgusting for denying and dismissing these people, why is nothing being investigated after all these bad reviews?. So be warned if you don’t want your hair to fall out avoid Olaplex like the plague!
