Danny was both brilliant

Danny was both on time, (if not a few minutes early!) and was from the outset extremely professional and friendly.

We now have a thoroughly clean oven and a great experience. Without question he is welcome back anytime. Very impressed.

Appalling Customer Service

Made what I was informed was a 'confirmed booking' only to be told the following day that the OvenGleamers employee for my area (Cambridge) did not 'do' work without a designated parking place on the drive of any property where he was working, as without it the distance 'might be too far to walk'. On the basis of the earlier conversation I had gone to great inconvenience and cancelled a days work.

Appalling Company - I would not recommend OvenGleamers to anyone !

With bookings into Cambridge CB1 and CB2 Postcodes the franchisee covering the area wants to be given more details before the customer is booked in. This because often the parking can be difficult or non existent and getting to the areas is difficult to because of traffic issues. And some ovens we are finding increasing difficult to clean too. Your range is a SMEG range.

In your case we took the details from you and our franchise said he would rather not do the job. He declined the job as he is no longer cleaning SMEG ovens, expect for repeat customers. We as a company are very close to doing this nationwide, as old SMEG cookers are difficult to clean and often have issues with them during the clean.

So there was no confirmed booking. We told you we would have to make sure the franchisee was happy with the job. And he wasn't.

I understand how frustrating it must have been to make arrangements based on what you believed was a confirmed booking, only to have it cancelled the next day.

I have looked at this call and the way it was handled and it was handled correctly. You were disappointed and rude to my staff and said you'd give us a bad review because we wouldn't clean your oven.

Best of luck in finding an oven cleaning company that can clean your SMEG oven in Cambridge.

Like brand new

What a terrific experience! We just moved to our property and I spent a couple of days trying to remove the baked in grim on the Smeg range. I felt deflated as most of the muck was at the back of the ovens and I found it hard to reach. I called a lovely lady who gave me a quotation and booked me in. The lovely chap even turned up early and had such a warm manner. He worked hard for 4 hours - the ovens, doors, hob and extractor fan. He even replaced a bulb for me. The whole oven looks marvellous - like brand new! (Even though it is probably 5 years old) Overall a great job done and I would highly recommend this company from the way the call was answered, the follow up emails and the wonderful clean ovens.

Sparkling! Fantastic job!

Tom came to us in Taunton today, from OvenGleamers in Bristol. He got straight to work on our 8 year old integral oven/grill that was in desperate need of help. Tom worked so hard and was so polite and considerate throughout. Oven immaculate and kitchen spotless at finish! Thank you, Tom!

Neff Oven and Microwave clean Excellent job

John and Graham called to clean our microwave and oven which had annoying stains on the front glass and required a deep clean.Both gentlemen were polite professional and patient as to me the dismantling of the parts was tricky.
They have done a great job and both ovens look pristine.
We are delighted with the service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

If could give no star I would

If could give no star I would. Unbelievable... booked a time of 12.30, apparently the cleaner arrived at 10 am and wondered why I wasn't in. Left and then rang to ask if 4 pm would be OK. No it wouldn't be. I asked for my money back. Rang the office and she said they were actual times, cleaner said they were only estimate times. Need to get their act together, messing people around. Don't waste your time. Also demanded money up front, which should have rung alarm bells but stupidly I carried on. Never again.

Hello Janette, Yes we are sorry about this.

We do actual booking times but some times it is helpful to the local franchisee if the customer is flexible and willing to accommodate a change in the appointment time.

They would ring you directly and ask if you were okay with the change. Some times this is earlier than the booked time - easier oven clean on job before yours - or later than the booked time - a really difficult oven clean on the job before yours.

Your local franchisee had a full day on the day of your appointment.

He was able to complete his first job of the day quicker than expected which left a two and half hour gap to his next job - yours.

So he was trying to bring your job forward - usually this is just a case of speaking to you and asking you if this okay. He did phone you, a few times, but you didn't answer as you were at work. He then decided to move the other two jobs after yours to the morning and then thats how the new time happened. He took a chance when moving the other jobs that even though he hadn't spoken to you, you would be alright with this. Most customers would be.

If you had spoken to him I'm sure things would have been sorted out to your satisfaction, he could have arranged another day.

You rang our office and spoke to our office team and we arranged an immediate refund.

We take payment in advance to ensure both the safety of our operatives and office staff.

Disappointed with the results of my…

Disappointed with the results of my oven/grill/microwave cleaning with Overgleamers. I’ve never used a cleaning company before but as we have recently moved to a house with a very dirty oven, thought I would give it a go. Unfortunately, I was not available when the cleaner came, but my husband informed me he was early and a pleasant chap. After he had left and we were able to inspect the work, we found the oven seal had not been cleaned, grease around the oven door hinges (I thought the doors were supposed to be removed) along with bits of old silver foil. Black grit came away from the oven floor and deposits of grease were still present. There is also a kitchen drawer under the oven which when we opened, found that some of the grease and fat deposits scrapped off the oven had fallen on to my newly cleaned out drawer! The cleaner could easily have removed the drawer so that the contents could not be compromised. Additionally, were old food deposits still in the door hinge of the microwave so this had not been cleaned properly. My husband got the oven and microwave cleaned thoroughly as we do not want Ovengleamers back but this cost me a lot of money and it is a real shame the cleaner didn’t just take the time to check his work.
I understand ovengleamers need more info on this review - happy to oblige.
The oven, grill and microwave are certainly cleaner than they were but on close inspection, we found the faults mentioned in the above review. We shouldn’t have had to easily spot the grease and grime on the oven hinges or the food particles in the microwave door - as these should have been picked up by the cleaner .
As stated above, your cleaner should have done a more thorough inspection before leaving and then would have easily seen the door hinges, the food particles, the mess in the drawer below he left , the black grit on the oven floor, and the grease in the oven door seal! For the money paid, we expected the inspection this to be done for us not by us!
I am not going to argue with Graham who has given his opinion in yet another reply but yes, I am particular about what defines a good ‘clean’ and if I had been around to inspect the final result properly, then it would have been a different matter. The photos do NOT give a close up of the oven door seal, or the food particles in the microwave door etc. so Graham is incorrect in giving his ‘glowing’ report. I spoke to the cleaner yesterday and expressed my disappointment at having to give a bad review but accepted his apology at having been given a less than perfect finish which I took to mean a close to the matter. I think Graham needs to do the same.

We are sorry for your inconvenience but we do the full strip down deep clean, including stripping down the doors, and our aim is to clean the oven/cooker to perfection. We do this using eco cleaning products unlike our competitors and achieve our results using the OvenGleamers unique Eco cleaning process that is Fast, safe and thorough. We usually achieve a perfect result which is to your, the customers, satisfaction. You would have been asked to inspect the work at the end of the clean and been asked to sign a confirmation that you were happy with the work.

Looking at the job after you gave me your name. It's looks on the photos spotless and a really amazing end result, going from a pretty grimy oven to a spotless one. I spoke to the franchisee. He said that your husband who was there to check the clean had been very pleased with the end result of the oven clean.

If you had phoned the office on finding things weren't up to your standard we would have got the local OvenGleamer back to sort out the issues however small straight away that day. On most microwaves the door cannot be removed.

The franchisee rang and spoke to you after this review and you told him you were ultra picky. By speaking to the franchisee directly this is the best way to re-arrange a re-clean to get the oven to the standard you were expecting and there would have been no problem at all to do this. As far as I am aware you did not take up the franchisee up on his offer to return.

Proceed with caution

Proceed with caution - I requested a quote a few weeks ago for a double oven clean. At first they wouldn't email me the quote but tried calling me about 20 times. I did finally receive a very detailed quote in writing from Sarah Whittaker for £135 - the quote even said "no hidden extras on the day". The quote did not mention this was a special offer price or would only be valid for a set time.

I emailed back multiple times to say I was happy and would like to proceed but got no reply. I phoned today to book it in as my emails were being ignored only to be told the clean would cost £220! Quite an increase from the original £135 quoted. I said I had a much cheaper quote and was told "that must be from some other company", when I said it was definitely from oven gleamers I was given a vague "oh that was an offer we were running before Christmas" despite there being no mention of this in the quote.

If you do use them I suggest getting a quote in writing so they can't gaslight you into thinking the original quote is from some other company...

HI Fonda Cocks. I can see that you were disappointed by the quote we gave you when we actually got to speak to you. It's always best if we speak to you on the phone so we can ask you the size of your oven to give you an accurate quote. We have a call log in place and we will phone the customer after they have asked for a quote quite a few times to try and speak to them.

You initially asked for a quote for double oven by email and we gave you the price for a standard double oven - the pre Christmas price with the added premium fee for Christmas slots. When you rang to book your oven in for a clean in the New Year we found out that you infact had a double oven range and we then quoted you more accurate price.

A standard double oven takes an hour and half to clean and is just the ovens. A double oven range cooker takes three and half to four hours to clean and is a clean of the whole range cooker including the hob. So yes there is a big difference in price.

We are experts in cleaning range cookers and pride ourselves in cleaning range cookers to the highest standard using only Eco products in the home, unlike most of our cheaper competitors.

I strongly recommend that you don't use…

I strongly recommend that you don't use this company. I had an appointment booked for December 20th but received a phone call the night before at 9.40pm from a gentleman who rather gleefully informed me that he had double booked and therefore wouldn't be attending. I agreed to carry it over to the New Year, and was told the company would contact me then both verbally and by e mail. I paid £204 for two single ovens to be cleaned. I have tried on several occasions to contact the company, but can't get through, and left several messages, all ignored. Today, January 7th, I have sent an e mail requesting the money is returned to my card and the appointment cancelled as I have no faith in the company or its employees.

Your booked appointment was cancelled by the franchisee in the Kings Lynn area on the last day that he was working before breaking for Christmas of 2024. You tried to contact him over the Christmas period but he didn't reply.

You then contacted the main office on the 6th of January by email which we replied to immediately but we only got hold of you on the 7th January and we refunded you the payment on the 9th January 2025. If there hadn't been a Christmas break the appointment would have be rescheduled and/or a refund given on the next day.

We are sorry you couldn't wait for a rescheduled appointment to see the difference the franchisee would have made to your single ovens.

Quite disappointing

Booked an oven clean on the 12th November for the 21st November at 12:15pm, was told on the phone the process, rough time it would take and then made payment on the phone.

The day of the clean we had a chap called Phillip arrive who was friendly and early arriving which was a bonus. He was here for around an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes. After the clean, I noticed some things that weren't quite right, such as white, sticky residue on top of the hobs, black grease on the floor and an oven protective mat left in the sink with loads of grease over it.

I called the office who got Phillip to come back and sort these problems out, that was all fine, no problems with that. Due to me working, I couldn't fully check what he'd done as I needed to be in a meeting 10 minutes after he left.

Upon checking the oven after the meeting, there was still quite a lot that hadn't been done, I sent photos to the office and they re-booked a clean for the following week with a chap called Matt.

Matt arrived the following week and I found him to be quite combative and awkward, he told me that the oven looked fine from the pictures he had been sent, but was not sent the pictures that I'd forwarded to the office.

He also said that as it was a re-visit, he was only allowed an hour to clean, which is something I was never told by the office.

Once he left, I had a look round and it was better than before, but for the money OvenGleamers charge, I was expecting more, it just feels like the bare minimum is done whilst charging a premium price.

It would be great to know exactly what cleaning steps were done on our oven compared to what we were sold on the phone as I still don't believe they did everything that we were told they would do.

I would have rated this more and I actually wanted to rate this more, but after 3 visits, I'd rather not use them again and go for someone local.

Looking at the photos taken by Phil and Matt our Bristol Team did a great job in cleaning your range cooker. But unfortunately because of the age of your cooker there was existing enamel damage on your range which means it looks like parts hadn't been cleaned.

We did the full strip down deep clean cleaning all the bits most of our competitors miss and we used only Eco products in your home unlike our competitors. So we arrived on time. We stripped down the bits we could and dipped those and cleaned the rest with eco products. And polished up to make it gleam.

We do the full clean which means we clean all the racks and side supports, the fan cover, the fan, the whole cavity of all the compartments including the warming drawer on your range.We ensured that every part of your range was cleaned to perfection.

We are sorry you weren't impressed by the gleaming result but we did try our hardest to make your old cooker perfect.

We cleaned your range cooker out of area hence the increase in the cost of the clean.

I'm not sure non eco products used by our competitors would have got the same results, so because of that I'm struggling to recommend competitors in your area for you to use next time.

Had my oven cleaned today and it is like new, it’s amazing. Oven Gleamers were here for almost 2 hours and it is now spotlessly clean. Cannot recommend highly enough, thank you; well worth the money.

Grabbed the payment - and didn't do the job - poor, poor 'service'

We ordered an oven clean in the North Somerset area, and the operative spent a total of 68 minutes at the property, though there were considerable gaps where she left the house - a maximum of 50 minutes cleaning. It was a different person indicated on the information supplied, so perhaps a last-minute replacement. She was friendly and courteous but had no workclothes on. We were not aware she had finished, as she left unannounced, so there was never any check that we were happy with the job.

On inspection, it became clear that the control knobs, door edges, and handles hadn't been touched. There was also food debris in the vents. I called the office, who arranged to send her back that same day. She duly arrived, wiped down the handles and the controls, but could not clean the food debris, as she didn't have the right tools for the job - she stated that the only cleaning they could was with cloths/pads and cleaning fluid. She left after 5 minutes. When we turned the oven on, both bulbs were blown (not sure how, but there you are), so we shone a torch inside. The top oven had not been cleaned at all.

When we had first received the quotation, we were told the clean would take 1.5 to two hours, would involve for example dismantlement and cleaning of the doors, internal fans, and oven walls, and any blown bulbs would be replaced.

None of that happened. We ordered some bulbs on Amazon over the weekend.

We contacted the company but the calls were not picked up. I left a message. We did not get a response, so, as the matter was time-critical, we finished the cleaning ourselves. Following the weekend, we still hadn't heard anything, so I called and spoke to Catherine to explain. She offered to send another cleaner round with a toothbrush (presumably to clean the vents), but clearly, this was not going to work. Apparently, about 50 minutes cleaning 'sounds about right', and their view is that as long as someone turns up, they have performed the service and do not offer any refund. I was however offered £10 off the bill if I ever decided to use them again - it is hard to believe, but that was what was advanced. I requested a substantial discount - not a total refund, as the bottom oven and glass seemed ok, even though the service was poor, and we had been put to considerable inconvenience. She refused point-blank.

I stated that I would therefore be seeking a chargeback with my card provider. She responded that they would dispute it, I would not be successful, and she abruptly terminated the call. What is more disturbing is that having taken my card details on booking, the company immediately had deducted the full £115 from my card three days before the half-job was even attempted.

Needless to say, I have charged back the full amount, and a complaint will be passed to Trading Standards. In the event that we are unsuccessful, the matter will be addressed at the Small Claims Court.

This is a job that we carried out from our Bristol office. Your photos (left on your Google review) show that we did an extremely good job except for a few minor things which would have. and did take. a few minutes to clean.

We have a team of eight operatives in our Bristol area and sometimes through sickness and other problems we have to change the operatives around on jobs to ensure that we can carry out the appointment on the exact time it was booked in for.

We take payments in advance for the safety of our team as we have had our office broken into in Bristol - looking for cash - and one of operatives was stopped and threatened with severe violence if he didn't hand over 'the cash;. So over the past twelve years that we have taken money in advance we have created a business that is known for not carrying cash in our vans.

With the vents, on your Belling standard double oven, this is older style oven and over the years I've had real problems cleaning these vents on your brand of oven so even with the 'right tool' these wouldn't have been hundred per cent clean. I'm not sure how to get lumps of grease out of holes in a grill that are so small you can't get anything through them.

We are the only company in the area to use Eco products in the home and to try and get the same results, with non eco products as our competitors use, would have caused some big issues with the painted surfaces on your oven and left behind caustic residue in the oven which our process and products doesn't do. We gained a near perfect end result using our Eco Products and process. And also because we use my own developed process we can clean ovens a lot faster that most other oven cleaning companies.

Jamie-Lee who did your clean has been working for us for over a year, is our youngest operative, and this is the first cleaning complaint she has had - she had a few technical problems when she started and I know she would have done the best clean for you as she is very customer focused and wants to 'make every customer happy'.

I will look into why your bulbs weren't replaced as they should have been. The hardware shop a short walk from where you live in Nailsea sell oven bulbs for £2 each.

All our operatives wear uniform workwear but with Jamie-Lee we have had problems sourcing larger clothes to fit her. I will ensure that going forward we work harder to source the right fit clothes, and enough of them so she doesn't revert to using her own clothes.

As far as trying to get hold of us on a weekend we are small family business that closes for the weekend and we take messages by email and our phone answering system. It's our most busiest time of year (third week in November) with the Christmas rush and with over a hundred phone calls to deal with daily we dealt with your issue as soon as we could on the Monday.

I feel that the offer made to was the right one as you demanded a 'substantial refund" and it is clear that we turned up on time, we cleaned your oven as we said we would - full clean deep strip down clean- cleaning the fan, and every detail of your oven, the doors and door glass, above the grill element and door seal using eco products and we responded to your complaint on the day swiftly to correct the issues you found.

Thank you Becky. Yes it never good to move into a new home to find the oven needs a clean with the dirt and debris left behind by the previous owners. We do lots of moving out and moving in oven cleans.
