Loved OvenGleamers

Loved OvenGleamers. I found it very easy to book my oven clean - the person on the phone was lovely. The man who cleaned it was excellent. He cleaned my oven, job and extractor. He did a super job. Would recommend.

AVOID

AVOID. They broke my oven and refused to pay for the repairs. Awful customer service, dishonest in their behaviour. AVOID THEM!!!!

Oven Gleamers were told not to remove the oven light and not to clean around it, this was ignored which resulted in the light fitting being knocked and blowing the fuse on the oven.

The oven was not working fine when the cleaner left. He had not switched the oven on to check it was working.

Someone from their customer service team phoned me the next day and I told her I had not checked the oven yet as I went away after having the oven cleaned.

I did not return until the 3 days later and that was the first time I checked the oven. When I called to report the fault I was told that they would cover the cost of the electrician call out and you gave me the number of the company you used do it could be charged to you.
The reason the oven was not working was because the lamp cover had been moved so it caused it to trip whenever switched. Whether this was done intentionally or not is irrelevant as it was still their cleaner which caused this and was specifically asked not to clean near it.
Oven Gleamers did not honour their word in saying they to cover the cost of the electrician call out and to refund the cleaning cost.

This was all just a few days before Christmas so the worst time to be without an oven!

Hi Asme,

We think this review is unfair as when you booked in your oven with us you told us on the phone that there was a fault with your oven. It would stop working if the light fitting was knocked. So I'm guessing if you knocked your light fitting it shorted out and blew either the fuse in the oven connector plug or the fuse on your house fuse board So your oven was faulty when you booked in with us.

We actually cleaned the oven one week before Christmas on the 19th December 2019.

You were very happy with the clean. We checked to ensure your oven was working when we had finished. We have a signature completion box on our job sheet that lists the checks that had been carried out, and the full clean check list. You signed that box to say you agreed that everything was done correctly and that your oven was working.

Then a few days later you rang to say you'd got a problem with the oven not working. We gave you the details of a local oven repair company to fix it. And told you we'd cover the cost if we got a report from him to say that it was our fault.

And as you say in your review the problem with your oven was that a fuse had blown and I would guess that the most likely cause of that was the already existing problem with your oven light fitting shorting out the oven or tripping the cooker fuse on your house fuse board. And as you had fixed this previously you would have known how to fix it.
