They are absolutely awful. Once you become a customer, you will never be able to talk to a rep again. I am 10 days away from my legal obligation to deliver W2's to my employees and I can't get an answer that they are working on them. Worst experience in customer care with any company ever and they had the nerve to up our rate 3 times in 2022. These were big rate hikes too. I am shocked they are still in business.
Customer service is nonexistent. Unable to reach by phone. Received W2, which showed no fed taxes being paid. We have had numerous issues with no customer support. We will be looking for another payroll service.
I worked with Paycor at my previous employer and LOVED it. Then Covid happened and all hell broke lose and their customer service never recovered. They are still working from home, which is why I think it is SOOO bad. I put in support tickets, and NO ONE ever answers them. If I call, I can sometimes get help, but the knowledge is limited. I usually hear them typing in my question to someone else and waiting for the answer. Why can't I just talk to that person. Anyway - the ease of use is SO much better than ADP, so I think I'll keep them.
We've been following up with Paycor to amend Q1-2022 Form 941's for almost 5 months and still not able to resolve the issues. Very poor customer service, you are on your own once you sign with them. They never call back and needs constant follow-up. Also, Paycor payroll reports are also not as user friendly as those available with Gusto. We had to switch because some specific functionalities were needed, now I wish we could have done without it.
The onboarding team is dedicated and helpful. After onboarding there is no account manager, no point of contact. The customer service team does not seem knowledgeable (each CSR seems to provide a different solution), and follow up is almost non existent. The software is okay, but working through an issue is nearly impossible due to the lack of service.
I cannot imagine getting worse customer service anywhere else. I hired them to do my payroll and right off the start as soon as I signed up all communication stopped. The worst salesman I've ever dealt with, just wanted to sign me up and then let me suffer through one problem after another. I had reached out to him on multiple occasions with no response. Once you sign up you are on your own! They claim that they take care of everything but let me tell you it's a full-time job making sure they do anything. I called because they messed up my payroll and was on hold for 58 minutes until I talked with someone. If you think that hiring them will save time, no, just the opposite.
This is the worst payroll provider I've dealt with in my career of over 30 years. I've been trying to change some services for two months, but have gotten nowhere despite multiple, lengthy phone calls and emails. I continue to be charged for services I've cancelled. I'm stuck in the short-term because if I block Paycor from ACH access to our bank account, it means I can't pay our employees either. If you are considering Paycor as a payroll provider, I highly encourage you to choose any other vendor. Paycor is the worst choice.
Horrible, terrible, no good company. The customer service can't be any worse. Constantly changing employees, don't respond to requests for assitance. Raising prices constantly.
Worst possible experience. Whereas with nearly any simple payroll solution, setup is accomplished with a few clicks and completed web forms, this is an unwieldy solution that can only be operated by a team of HR professionals.
The expectation is 100% DIY operation without any possibility of instruction, assistance, or customer service. Because no response will ever be forthcoming.
Paycor may work for very large users with SLAs (perhaps -- but it would definitely require an enforceable SLA); for any smaller user of any type, their business model is to obtain a long-term contract, do a single one-time configuration, and then ignore the customer until they give up calling and emailing and go elsewhere... and hopefully that's profitable.
Typically, weeks of emails and calls go ignored. There is no way to get their team to answer a call at any time, despite any length of wait -- well into hours. Trouble tickets are incoherently non-addressed. A call back might come, many days after an inquiry -- and you'd better not miss that (I did).
Ultimately, with payroll deadlines looming, I had to start a new payroll service -- because this one would not answer the phone or respond in any way.
