I would not recommend PGH Pest Control

I would not recommend PGH Pest Control. Their customer service is very poor & once they have your money (which they require upfront...) they do very little to provide a good service. I contacted PGH about a wasp nest at our house, explicitly saying we had looked for it ourselves and could not find it anywhere but that we would find one or two wasps in our house daily & so I really needed a company that would be determined to find it (especially as I have a young children and I myself am allergic). I was assured that PGH would do a very thorough check of the house and all they could to find the nest. What happened was the opposite, on arrival, the guy took out his iphone, peered into the eves using a torch, looked up and down the house and said that he couldn't help as couldn't see anything & subsequently left. I phoned the office to discuss this as clearly I didn't need to pay £100 for someone to do exactly what I had done before calling PGH. I was assured that the 'MD' would get in touch with me to discuss my experience and that I should have at the least received a report from the guy that came to the house. I received nothing and have never had a call back from the company despite emailing and calling again to ask what was happening.
With upfront payment they have very little incentive to do a good job for the customer, especially in situations that aren't straight forward.

We are sorry that you didn't have a good experience with PGH Pest Control. We are a small company but due to the business, we need the security of the booking as we do have to turn away business. That is not to say that our technicians can take a slack approach to dealing with our customers issues.

I remember speaking with you over the phone and I do recall you advising us that you have looked high and low for the nest. I explained that it wasn't guaranteed that the technician would find the nest but that he would do all he could to find it and treat it. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful. This I understand is frustrating, especially with your young children and your allergy.

When the technician was asked, they assured us here in the office that a thorough check was done. If this was not the case, we sincerely apologise for leaving you in a potentially dangerous environment. Although the nest was not found, it is our policy that payments are non-refundable. However, if there is anything that we might be able to do to rectify this matter, or if you would like to make any further comments, please feel free to contact me directly. dayna@pghpestcontrol.co.uk

I can only apologise that you were not contacted as agreed. The relevant information was passed over so there is no excuse. As previously said, if there is anything that PGH Pest Control can do for you, please do let us know.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service.

Having used their services for many years now, the level of service is still as high as it ever was. Always polite, thorough and quick to respond.

Would highly recommend their services to anyone.

Had a call within minutes of making an …

Had a call within minutes of making an online enquiry. Good & accurate advice along with estimated costs, which I was unable to afford. Further advice was then to do nothing rather than pesticide. I later emailed a photo & got a response identifying the bee as what I suspected by now it to be.

Really helpful advice

I called this company due to bees flying in through our chimney into our living room. I spoke with Peter Higgs who was extremely helpful in identifying the type of bees and providing advice on the best way to deal with our problem. I would highly recommend.
