⚠️ WARNING do not buy from this dealer!!!!

⚠️ WARNING – AVOID THIS DEALER

Purchased a car from Daniel Stones trading as PGS Trade Cars (also known as FSG/FGS Trade Cars, previously Elite Automotive (NW) Ltd).

A deposit was left after a test drive, followed by an MOT on 10th November showing no advisories. The car was collected on 14th November and was bought as a present for my son’s 18th birthday after recently passing his driving test.

On 25th November, the car was inspected by a qualified garage owner (family) and found to have serious and dangerous faults, including:
•Excessively worn & cracking wet belt
•Perished wishbone & suspension bushes
•Snapped exhaust clamp
•Bald tyre
•No oil in the engine
•Contaminated coolant
•Blown head gasket

Repair costs far exceed the value of the car. These issues should at least have appeared as MOT advisories, if not resulted in failure.

The car was returned on 26th November. We formally rejected the vehicle, and the dealer agreed to a full refund, but repeatedly failed to return the money, missed agreed collection dates, and then stopped responding entirely. My son was left without a car or refund on his 18th birthday, having also missed work due to agreed collection arrangements that did not happen.

After this, we became aware of a report in the Leigh Guardian stating that this individual had previously been convicted of motor trade–related fraud and received a suspended sentence earlier this year. This information was discovered after our purchase.

We have involved Trading Standards, issued a Letter Before Action, reported the MOT garage to the DVSA, and now logged the matter with the police.

We are still left with an undriveable car and no refund.

Based on our experience and the information now publicly available, I strongly advise anyone to avoid this dealer at all costs.

I've not had a great experience with…

I've not had a great experience with this dealer, from customer service to issues with the car on purchase, power steering issue, shock absorber knackered, and a heat shield that was allegedly replaced also claiming it had a timing belt in the advert but no specific proof just a X in the service book so need to check with the garage that's it's been done or as it just been crossed as done by PGS ? ,also recently other people are experiencing very bad issues with cars purchased and I've had some reach out and contact me directly asking about my experience and they are all going to trading standards and depending on the results of my car that I should of had checked earlier I will be doing the same, also information received regarding the owner as been sent to me which is very interesting to say the least,he can't continue to steal money from people who are working in this current climate to just get bye,and I hope customers go the full way through the court system, the company and the person behind it needs to be stopped in my personal opinion.

Stolen Car!

Had to report my car stolen to Greater Manchester Police. The Police have advised they had been in touch and he would return my car. Haven't heard nothing! AVOID at all costs! It's given us nothing but stress, anxiety and financial losses as a result!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We bought a green bmw from here at the start of August that completely failed within 3 weeks of purchase. Despite advertising a 30 day warranty and us rejecting the vehicle within 30 days under the consumer rights act. They have made no effort to reply to us or refund us. They denied that we had the right to reject the vehicle. I have sent videos of the car making awful noises and a quote from a mechanic with the work needed on the vehicle and yet they decided to shout at me on the phone about how I haven’t sent the right thing. I then was asked to provide the phone number of the mechanic so they could confirm and they have made no attempt to contact the mechanic. Please do not buy from them. Our next step is taking this to small claims court and reporting them to trading standards, pgs trade cars is not on companies house so it took some digging to find the business it trades under. You will notice that their trust pilot has a rating of 3.7 but the only review on there is a 5 star review. Take that as a hint and avoid this business.
