Horrible!
I create an account thinking that I could watch any movie or new releases with ads but when I click on the "watch" button, my page refreshes and asks me to upgrade my account to watch premium channels/features by avoiding to watching ads. Not paying $60 per month to watch something with ads. Plex TV is a fake and illegitimate company. Nice try!
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. I have all the necessary hardware, downloaded all the necessary .exe files .... just won't install. Tried everything including re-starting, clearing cache and re-installing. Just plain won't work. What a waste of time !
Terrible service
Terrible service, played 5-6 long ads every 8 min and when I just lightly tapped the screen it would pop up the same sign that asked if I would download the app or continue in browser and when I tapped continue in browser it made me play all the ads I just watched again and wouldn’t save my time and progress. 2/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Plex is shit
If there was an option, I would put zero stars, but since I have to rate them one star, their streaming service is nothing but buffering and adds. I’d rather pay $50 to watch a single movie then use this platform again. Started watching a movie on their service and it crashed my Xfinity box and buffered for at least 15 minutes of the first 30 minutes of the movie and 10 minutes of ads. I ended up renting the movie just so that I could actually watch it because this company is the worst streaming service that could ever be provided.
Love plex when it works and 2026 saw a fundimental change is advertised content first your content second with its horrible new ui choices
Love plex when it works and ive had a couple.years here and there when mkvs couldnt play remotly. Even though settings were correct. But now thw new 2026 ui puts everything but my own library first. Its a terrible choice and one thats made me move away from plex this month feb 2026. I dont want their free content with adverts i just want my own. Also having paid for a month at 1.99 it wouldnt work remotley and on windows laptops at home it woldnt work too. To many issues and the bad ui make me not care now. Ive used plex back long ago when it came out. Sad face its bei g ruined.
The old plex youd open and your library was there. Now you open plex and you get plexes advert content. You now have to click on library and pick yours. Absolutly feels force fed.
Why bother with listings
I have to agree with the published articles upon opening the listings a mess no clear direction available to go to a chosen program Had a look at a product video relates to 600 live channels Bad enough with 60 600 forget it.
Plex is too complicated
Plex is getting too complicated for family and friends accessing my Plex server. The Devs made it harder to find a list of media to browse and some of my family members and friends having a harder time to find what they want. I am now in the process of switching over to Jellyfin which is simple and reliable.
Plex Pass tripled their price in 2026…
Plex Pass tripled their price in 2026 and exclaims "But we sent you an email on March '25 saying so. They pretty much count of slipping one past the goalie. Very predatory behavior. Stay clear
Too many ads
Too many ads! Every 10-12 mins on a movie. Completely ruins the experience of getting immersed in a film. Thumbs down!
Awesome with an account
If you have an account it’s really good because you can watch loads of movies and no ads and high quality
Plex is a waste of time for non-paid account users
After spending several days and 30+ hours (with ChatGPT & Grok “help”) attempting to get what should’ve been a simple setup to stream music from my local network NAS to my AVR and using my Android phone as a remote control for the Plex HTPC app on my Win11 PC, it turns out there’s no fix (according to ChatGPT) that I can do.
According to ChatPGT, the problem stems from me first using a Google account to create a Plex account (day 1 of this fiasco), but later creating a Plex email-based account with password (day 2 or 3) hoping that that might resolve the issues. Apparently, this blew Plex’s mind so that it can’t bind my music libraries accessed from the Plex Media Server on my Win11 PC (indexed from my NAS music) so that my Android phone can control the Plex HTPC app on my HTPC Win11 PC.
I can get the Plex HTPC and Plex Media Server on my HTPC computer to stream music to my AVR just fine now, but that entailed jumping through even more hoops. I couldn’t get any sound from my Yamaha RX-V663 AVR using a DVD or DTV/CBL input (using just the RCA audio inputs), but I could via its V-AUX channel. However, there was more tweaking to get it to play at a volume comparable to the other media channels (i.e., the volume was too low and I didn’t want to get blasted if I switched to another media input like Tuner or DVD).
Anyway, the thing that continually failed was attempting to get my phone Plex app to connect to the Plex HTPC. It saw the libraries I created, but it would not connect so I could play any music from those libraries using the phone as a remote control. I could use the Plex HTPC directly to play songs, but could not use the phone to control it—which was the whole point of setting this up so I could control the Plex HTPC from my patio or any room.
None of this was a problem when I setup my Raspberry-Pi with Volumio years ago. That all worked fine, except Volumio’s phone UI wouldn’t allow me to select and play a song directly from an album or list. I had to start play from the first song in the list and skip down until I got to the one I wanted to hear. Why Volumio thought that was a good idea when they provided a play button by right-clicking on any song, but hitting the “Play” button did nothing. More brilliant software engineering! And why I decided to try another approach.
So, after ChatGPT said there was nothing I could do to fix the problem because the Plex UI didn’t provide a way to delete the Google SSO account to eliminate it confusion. I had to contact their support via email. So, I sent them an email and within minutes I get a canned message back that said “As much as we would love to talk to every single one of our users, we are simply unable to provide one-on-one support via email.” And then it suggested I use the same URL that doesn’t provide a way to fix the issue—effectively giving me the finger. Beautiful!
Bottom line: Plex’s cloud-based technology and unwillingness to provide any kind of user support—at least not for non-paid subscription services—says all anyone needs to know. Plex has abandoned any support for people like me who just wants to use their software to stream media from their local network and doesn’t care about any cloud services or other media. So, if you’re someone like me don’t waste any time with Plex.
PLEX IS POO 💩 WOULDN'T EVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE PERIOD.
If I could leave 0 stars that would have been awesome, this streaming services is just as crappy as all the rest of them, my friends been having it for awhile and in the beginning it was great 👍 but now I'd rather just watch from else where than this poo 💩 site I wouldn't recommend this to anyone if it was the very last thing.
Load of crap!
The app might be free but it is the worst streamline app around. There were more ads than film. Literally every five minutes with 2.5 minutes of ads before being able to watch the film. It also cut short the end of the film so didn’t find out what happened. Don’t bother using it.
Ma cosa lanciate una tv streaming …
Ma cosa lanciate una tv streaming in ITALIA con film solo in inglese meglio che chiudete ho gia disinstallato app SE CERA 0 stelle anzi -0000000 chiudete bottega
Plex was never perfect
Plex was never perfect, but the option to stream remotely was why it got my 5 stars and recommendations to friends... then in a very sneaky way they decided to monetize that... They killed everything that was cool about the platform. Their Reputation, gone to the dogs now.. The company is clearly hemorrhaging money.
Too many very long commercial breaks to…
Too many very long commercial breaks to enjoy anything you are watching.
Don’t waste your time with this…
Don’t waste your time with this nonsense channel, yes watch for free, they bombard you with shit adverts, and then the last 5 minutes of the film, they cut you off until you register or subscribe to AMAZON so AVOID! I guess you make your own ending up!
$49.99 is not a free service
I would give this service a negative number if I could! I tried to get the FREE streaming and they tried to charge my card $49.99 then they tried to charge my card $1 then they kept trying to charge my card $49.99 multiple more times under different company names I finally had to cancel my card! When it said they would not charge my card it was just to start an account with them. I will NEVER recommend this streaming service to anyone!
enshittification
Plex used to be known as a top quality media manager for personal libraries. Started going downhill years ago when users started getting DMCA letters for media that they owned a physical copy of and hadn't shared to others.
Used to be free, then charged a lifetime license which has steadily increased in price over time. Now, there's the option to pay per year with different paid tiers, higher rate every year. There is now a free streaming library, and personal media libraries take several clicks to locate. The free streaming library has an OK selection, but doesn't really compete with existing free streaming services like Pluto or Sling.
Overall, this is a good choice for some people but not for me.
