Downloaded Plex to watch a film. Inundated with repeated ads then the film cut off before it was finished. I got rid off Plex the next day.
(Can't remember the date but it was early May or late April, 2025, and the film was A DOLL'S HOUSE, starring Jane Fonda.)

Had to come out of a movie several times. Ads come on that completely freeze and there's no other option but to navigate back and restart the movie and try and find the place you were at. I'll stick to other platforms for streaming.

Terrible. You cannot complete a movie without it freezing up every 5 seconds. Plus, reruns of the same commercials

Plex is no longer useful, there are much better streaming apps. You now have to subscribe and even when you’re subscribed you get ads first and then 6 minutes later!!!! Then when I pause the video and go to another app I come back to Plex there’s another ad before my video restarts. I am sure when I go back again now there’ll be another ad, this is what I am paying for? Plex really sucks!

Watched a million adverts then 10 minutes before the end of the film it crashed and wouldn’t let us watch the last 10 minutes.

WTF is this? I have been using PLex for 15 years to stream my personal media to mobile devices and cast to the TV. This evening I got to ping cinderella up for my 5 year olds and I am assaulted with some ad for soem ghastly zombie movie and then when I try to cast my personal content, it just buffers and does nothing. Whoever is running this railroad shoudl be sacked immediately. Formerly great product trashed overnight. Do not register do not use.

I have no idea what people are talking about, if you're whining because you need to pay €1.99/m for such a simple and straight-forward service even provides all the thumbnails and subtitles you seriously need to get your money up not your funny up. Now for the actual review, 5 stars easily. Very simple and straight-forward had no problems at all and its definitely worth the €1.99/m.

Paid for a lifetime service in 2017 just to now have it removed and locked behind a subscription model. Instantly deleted my 12 year old acount and will not be recommending Plex to customers any longer. Through recommendation at work I was putting 30-80 new users onto your platform every month for the past 6 years. The team responsible for this decision must have assumed stiffing the long term user would be inconsequential without realising some long term users have brought thousands of new customers to your service.

I would rather let script kiddies bang my harddrive with an homeless mans STD ridden schmeat then pay to use a server that I already own, just because Plex decided they want to pad their bottom line.

Time to install Kodi.

I purchased "Plex for Android Activation" in May 2022 via Google Play as a one-time fee to unlock streaming from my personal Plex server to my Android device. A recent update removed this paid feature and moved it behind a subscription paywall. Plex support only offered a 3-month trial, which does not resolve the loss of a feature I paid for permanently. This is a material change and unfairly forces me to pay again for what I already purchased.

I will NEVER watch this app anymore Plex tv & movies. The one of the most dangerous app shows on smart television, not worth at all.

The one sided political ADs very annoying. If your gonna get involved in politics appeal to all your viewers not just the extreme right wing.

Wow! You would think after reading these that there would be improvements made! Terrible app...nonstop ads, lengthy ads, political ads( play twice in a row!) seriously! We watch tv shows to take us away from the real, crazy world out there and ya flood us with politics! Whomever is affiliated with this Plex should be ashamed and embarrassed to say so 😞

If I could give it a zero I would I have never watched a service where there were so many ads every 7mins. Its not just 1 ad. There are 5 ads per 7mins. Ridiculous. Ill stick with tubi

Cooool classic movies but way toooo much commercial. I would rather pay something if I would have the opportunity. ✌️

feeds me adds every time i skip forward more than 1 minute fix your app.

Refreshed app is trash. Release beta level apps and force users to be guinea pigs. Might be done with Plex.

Impossible to stream remux for several years. Recent iOS redesign pure garbage, unusable, defective throughout.
