Please do not use this company

Please do not use this company. We were missold a pretty basic security system several years ago. We did not renew the contract with ADT due to the extremely poor service and hardware. The alarm system started intermittently beeping a year ago. As it's a closed system, only an ADT engineer can fix it. So we begrudgingly called someone out and paid £250. It barely worked for a month. Due to COVID, we could not get another visit until September of this year, which they charged £180 for. Someone came out and supposedly fixed it, but the alarm once again stopped working after a few weeks. I just spent 45 minutes on the call with someone who said they would provisionally agree to a free callout, but if the fault is something new they will charge us another £200+ for it! As I have 0 trust in the business, I just called up and cancelled that appointment. Please, please don't use this company.

Probably the worst customer service in the world

So many issues I need to make a list:
- If you have an unknown issue, they can't give you a time/date for an alarm engineer visit. They work on a queue system, which helps them but NOT YOU.
- If there is a definite fix to be applied, they CAN (supposedly) give you a DAY but not a TIME that an engineer will come round.
-But wait. They will tell you THURSDAY, and then when you call at the end of thursday they'll tell you that YOU are wrong and the engineer was actually booked for MONDAY. (I write everything down).
-They may call at any time to tell you they can't get an engineer out that day.
-It took 4 calls before 1 customer agent looked up the account record and gave me THE SINGLE MOST VITAL PIECE OF INFORMATION that I didn't know I needed.
- Don't expect agents to be polite. Damn you for interrupting their day.
-EVERYTHING IS GEARED TOWARD MAKING LIFE EASY FOR THEM.
- 2 weeks in....alarm still not fixed. Nobody has turned up.

Bait and Switch

A big time organization using small time hustling techniques. Bait & switch. I moved into a new house with existing ADT infrastructure in place that was old. I organized to have a technician sent out to replace it with a new one. So who arrives? A sales guy. Once he told me he was not a technician, I asked him to leave. He gave me the classic bait & switch line, "hey, fella, now I'm here let's just go over what you have and what we can do, and THEN we can get a technician out to you!"

The fact that the bait & switch is part of their business model shows this is not a healthy, reputable organization. Stay away.

New Alarm System

Had new alarm system fitted this morning by Glen Clarke. Cannot fault his workmanship at all. He was extremely pleasant & took the time to go through everything thoroughly for me, as I was sitting in for my Son who had to be out at work. He left everything clean & tidy, cannot praise him enough.

I wish I could give negative stars

I wish I could give negative star, because this company deserves it. We moved and we were instructed to take our equipment, put it in the new house and call when we were ready to have a technician check the equipment at the new home.
We got horrible customer service when we called and requested a technician come out to check the equipment. They sent a sales rep, who could do nothing for us other than sell us a NEW set of equipment. Who would want to do that when the equipment they have functions perfectly? Additionally, you have to start with a new 3 or 5 year contract when you move, it doesn’t continue to your new home, which is absurd. We told the sales rep we weren’t doing that, but evidently he put a new request in for a new system, which we repeatedly said we did not want.
This company constantly tries to up-charge and is nothing but unhelpful. I’ve spent hours on the phone with them going round and round.
We chose to just pay the $550 to get out of our contract since we don’t want to pay an absurd amount monthly for the worlds worst security service. I removed our bank account info so the payment wouldn’t automatically go through, to ensure we were aware of when the $550 would be deducted from our bank account. I was told by a customer service rep the payment wouldn't automatically go through if I did this. But, I was not surprised to see that the payment did automatically go through. I’m not surprised since this is such a terrible company.
Even prior to our move, we had issues with this company for the moment we signed our contract and we had the service for 2.5 years.
Once again ADT lost a customer to another security company.

The tech who arrived at my home Mr. Titus Cooper was very well mannered and knowledgeable about his job. He carried himself in a very professional manner. I was very impressed with the tech. THANK YOU

ADT CCJ (COUNTY COURT JUDGMENT) BLACK MARK

Void this security company at all costs. I purchased an alarm system from ADT on the assumption this is a reputable security business.

The alarm system has been detective and intermittent from day one. The customer service and solution teams have NOT returned any of my complaint calls. I pay a monthly subscription charge of £33 pounds for these services too.

I wrote 3 letters of complaint — recorded delivery — to Managing Director. I finally received an apology email from the head of complaints 4 months later. With the audacity to inform me I was NOT entitled to a refund for a detective product and horrendous customer service.

With no surprise, ADT FAILED to respond to a small claims court summon's to retrieve £2.5k. Because, ADT failed to respond to a court request I then actioned a CCJ in accordance to UK law.

I spoke with the head of complaints on 2 July 2020 about the serious implications a CCJ would have on ADT’s credit file. Guess what - he hasn't come back to me yet.

ADT will have a County Court Judgement registered on file with all UK credit agencies in the next few days.

So if you are looking to protect your home, family or property, then void ADT and go elsewhere.

I have dealt with ADT now for over 6/7…

I have dealt with ADT now for over 6/7 years their service during this time has been consistently high and very proffessional at all levels.
John Lees (580457) has looked after our system for the past few years he is a pleasure to deal with always cheerful polite and very professional. I have recently had new doors fitted to my home and I could not have asked for a better service from ADT they where so accomadating and helpful, well done and thank you ADT and John in particular.

Installation Call

I originally spoke with Harleigh on 6-22 and then I had the good fortune to speak with her randomly on 7-1-20. On both calls she was extremely knowledgeable. During the calls she was able to help me complete my installation. Door, Motion sensors, Keypad and pins were activated with her help. She was kind, patient, encouraging. With that said, she restored my confidence in ADT. Definitely an asset to your company. She has the skills to lead others within ADT.

Massive thanks to Brendan, Davey and Danny who cover the Glasgow area. The business I work for had a complicated issue with an alarm; these guys resolved it in a professional and timely fashion and were good craic into the bargain! Cheers lads!

ADT Engineer Graham Berry attended today to carry out a repair to my alarm system , He is very knowledgeable and had the job done very quickly and left the area clean and tidy.
Great Customer Service Provided .

Service Engineer- Gary Brinson

I have the ADT systems for many years and over the years all their engineers have been professional and efficient. Gary has been coming to my house for the last few years now for regular check ups and/or to fix issues with my alarm. Gary is very professional and efficient. He immediately understands any issues and checks the system to figure out what is going on. Additionally he is very polite and nice. I would recommend him to anyone who needs assistance with the alarm system.
