I have been a customer of ADT since they took ever management of my Honeywell Shield monitored home alarm system, installed in 1986. I have found them to be first class in terms of personnel and service. Perhaps a bit pricy, but very responsive to my needs.
Service maintenance checks are done on my home twice yearly and today's engineer, Andrew Smith phoned ahead and arrived right on Schedule. He advised us of all his movements through the house and system check cycles. He corrected a minor programming issue and verified the system is operating correctly.
Very pleasant young man. I can recommend this company to anyone considering installing an alarm system.

Fraudulent charges
My daughter wanted ADT and she had cash to pay for the installation fee. (They would not accept) She called and asked if I would pay it with my debit card and she would bring me the cash. The charge was $548.11. I asked the installer to verify I would only be charged ONE time. He replied, "That was correct." Well I have just found out they have charged me 2 more times of $548.11 for a total of $1096.22. I have called numerous times and have been hung up on intentionally by representatives that work at ADT. They keep telling me that there is nothing they can do. My daughter has also talked to them and let them know that I am telling the truth. BEWARE of ADT. I consider this fraud to knowingly charge someone's card without their PERMISSION!

Do not use this company, poor after sales service sensor in wrong place wasn't set to dog friendly as agreed. Now have a hole in my wall as my partner has had to move it !
ADT responded with a court summons!
I recently wrote a review about our experience with ADT security and in response we were told that the matter would be looked at. As far as we knew the discussions, emails said that the dispute was still in discussion. In the past week since my review we have received a demand for the outstanding £114.14 which is for the months we have had no alarm system or monitoring, as well a legal letter for court proceeding! They threaten to terminate the service ( we don’t have one!) Surely ADT should not be threatening customers in this bullying way. They say their decision is final. This is hardly a democratic decision when ADT see only their financial point and not the inconvenience, unfairness and failings to fulfil their legal obligations to service the system as well as respond to the alarm they were supposedly monitoring. Maybe we do need to go to court to highlight the unprofessional way this company works, and their failing to fulfil the British trading standards. ADT should be accountable for their trading practice!

The cameras are shocking they basilcally allow thieves into your home !!! Your camera breaks and somehow your not covered! The salesman tell you a pack of lies and because it’s in you own home it’s not regulated.... don’t purchase from these.....be warned

Absolutely shocking. I have moved house, they won't move my alarm system but instead want me to pay for a new installation! On top of which I have to continue paying for two years for a system I'm not using and don't have. The people moving into my property were going to take it over - so I said surely if they pay I don't have to! No we are going to take his money and yours for an alarm you don't have! And the best part - I unplugged the internet router on 25th January when I moved - they did not call me to tell me there was even an internet fault until 2nd February at midnight! Alarm kept activating with no siren or anything and no explanation. Never once were the police called despite having a response system.Absolutely avoid at any cost!
They won't let you leave!
After finding out I received an outdated alarm system, I requested to cancel ADT's service. I signed my cancellation form within 48 hours of the 72 hour cancellation period and sent it in via email AND fax but I still got a bill in the mail. Currently searching for ways to cancel my service. This company is NOT recommended!
I purchased a contract with ADT…
I purchased a contract with ADT recently and it was the worst experience. I have not received the call to test the system . Which was supposed to have happened at 3pm the same installation day. I have not received the contract via email. Which to receive the $100 gift card VISA you not only. Have to send a money order you also need the first page of your contract to mail to MPELL with the money order. I am so disappointed. I am terminally ill and this is unexceptable behavior. I have reached out NUMEROUS TIMES AND WITH NO RESPONSE. I need my copy of the legal contact that ADT is sure to hold me to. This is a company I am not even positive I can trust to respond to an alert. They took money off if my credit card when I prepaid . TWICE !!! I have to wait up to 30 days to get reimbursed with a check . Then being on Palliative care that will be a real challenge. They refused to put the money back where they took it from. They are charging my credit card with the highest rate plan . So I am not paying the $27.99. it is way higher. are they even going to respond when I am In the hospital and the alarm sounds ? Really . ????? I will not have proof......
Purposely Obtuse Customer Service
ADT couldn't care less about customer service. I had an account in place for my elderly mentor. She passed away and I needed to cancel the account because we were selling her home. This has been devastating, she was a brilliant light. I called a rep, she requested a code that I didn't have. I was just responsible for paying the bill. She offered an email address that was a total dead end. After no reply, I called again and again and again. I was given a different email address, that communication was ignored. I finally located the code, but that wasn't good enough, now I needed a death certificate. Thanks ADT. Her death has been a nightmare. So while I continue to be billed a small fortune, I'll go downtown and hunt for a death certificate for my beloved Irene.

ADT's slogan is "always there". But, they're not. At least the accounts department are not there at the week end. This month I was billed twice for my contract. I phoned on Thursday 12th to point this out. A pleasant woman told me that they knew and that I would be repaid on Friday 13th April. Needless to say, I was not repaid. I tried to phone today to ask why but guess what: they're closed for the week end. The very day most people can contact them. I have had lots of other problems with the alarm not working and extra charges for sorting out things I think should be included in the contract. I'm seriously thinking of moving to someone else.

ADT charged £68 for a battery that cost £11.50 during a free routine inspection. My yearly subscription that incl routine inspections are a great way for Adt to get a lot of extra money from customers. Really bad!!!!

company does nothing but cons you, was with them for 7 years, coffing out £20 a month, only to have my system out of order for 8 months, complained, calls were received, promises were made and nothing more. carried on for months, then contacted the senior management, although they received my email, no one bothered calling, 2 weeks later I received a phone call, asking if I had emailed the senior mgmt. I mean seriously.... then situation got resolved however had to contact them again as I was moving houses, no consideration for customer loyalty, had to pay for installation and an updated monthly fee which was £9.00 a month more than what I was paying.

We moved and never received a final bill or anything... until we heard from collections. Very unethical, I'd suggest using ANY other company. Don't let them trick you if you plan on moving. You'll have to sign up a new *multi year* contract and pay any fees with it. We deserve better!

I just move recently and I ordered Cable TV, Phone, and then ADT security. I ordered the home security from Security Choice and these guys are on it. We had the system installed the next day and everything was free, other than the monthly service. I can watch my house with video through the iphone. Highly recommend these guys.
