Avoid Skydo

Avoid Skydo – Unreliable, Lacking Transparency, and Potentially Non-Compliant
If you’re a business dealing with international clients, I strongly recommend avoiding Skydo for cross-border payments. Despite its modern interface and promises, Skydo holds funds for days — even weeks — under the vague excuse of “RBI Guidelines” and “compliance checks.”

RBI Guidelines Are Clear: Funds Must Be Settled Within 24 Hours
Under RBI regulations governing Online Payment Gateway Service Providers (OPGSPs) — a framework applicable to services like PayPal, Payoneer, and likely Skydo:

“The amount received by the OPGSP from the overseas buyer shall be credited to the exporter’s bank account in India within 24 hours.”
— RBI Circular: A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 17 (2010), reaffirmed in DPSS.CO.PD.No.1164/02.14.006/2019-20

This is precisely why PayPal and Payoneer do not hold your funds. For example:

PayPal explicitly states:
“As per RBI guidelines, PayPal cannot hold balances for Indian users. All payments are auto-withdrawn to your bank account within 24 hours.”

Skydo, on the other hand, routinely violates this standard by withholding payments well beyond the permitted window — often without providing any specific regulatory reference or legal documentation.

A Pattern of Delays, Blocked Accounts and Lack of Clarity
Real user reports tell the full story:

Reddit and Trustpilot are full of complaints about frozen funds, sudden account closures, and refund delays stretching over weeks or even months.

A Change.org petition accuses Skydo of breaching RBI mandates, the Consumer Protection Act, and FEMA, demanding regulatory action.

Businesses doing compliant activities are able to publish these documents when asked for and are happy using Skydo for our compliance promise along with seamlessness and cost effectiveness.

We hold the payment only in case these documents are not submitted and we finally have to refund the payment to source as it is outside our risk policies to process such payments without proper business documentation.

Any payment undergoing screening is held are as per PACB(https://www.skydo.com/blog/pacb-circular-and-opgsp-update) and OPGSB guidelines cited by you, and all these are reported to RBI and FIU as per requirements.

Had we not followed the PACB guidelines, regulators and bank partners would not trust us and we wouldnt have been able to business. Its our compliant policies, our customer's support and regulator and partner trust due to which we continue to grow and make our services better.

As a licensed entity we are responsible for conducting the right checks and weed out fraudulent businesses from our platform.

worst customer service its a scam after…

worst customer service its a scam after payment is processed my account got closed they told me that you will get the refund in 5 business days and now when i called there customer care number they told me that the money is in the virtual bank account and sender need to call the bank and initiate the charge back then only the sender can get the refund of the money .
i dont even have access of my account even i cannot track my payment .

please do not share your information with this company because they can make mis use of your personal information and documents .

In a few cases local regulations don't allow refund using the same method and chargeback is the only option, like in case of ACH debit using payment links.

In any case, our support team is always to up to help track your payment after the chargeback and all the states are communicated to you proactively over email.

We are responsible for closing the accounts of business which are unable to prove the right purpose of payments as these payments lie outside our risk levels, as all business onboarded with us should follow RBIs policies of cross-border payments when they are receiving their international remittances.

Skydo is not for international payments

The onboarding on skydo is good, but here comes the drawbacks.

1. No mfa for account security.
2. their virtual account does not work for clients as it's says invalid accounts while adding as payes.

3. I almost lost a client by recommending skydo, I am still on upwork. Better to use paypal.

1. We have necessary authentications during login and other account level actions. We have all security certifications to safeguard our customers.

2. We receive thousands of payments every month and this is because our VA can be used for any bank to bank transfers and can also be integrated with most platforms like Upwork, Deel, Amazon Global. There are few platforms which only allow American residents or Amercian Businesses to onboard which we cant support as of today.

3. We have hundreds of customers using their Skydo account with their Upwork and always appreciate the seamlessness we have built for Upwork payments.

We are unable to see any account in your name integrated with Upwork yet. We request you to first try this and then mention truths in your reviews.

SKYDO Payment system is fake

Before getting registered, skydo executive was talking with sugar coated words with big committments, like easy and smooth transactions, best rates, etc etc. Once they receive any payment, they close the account for no reason or some lame excuses, that business model doesnt suit their standard. then why the hell they are running the international payment gateway, when they can't match the international business model
DON'T register in Skydo.. You will regret for sure..

When businesses are unable to to publish required documents for proving export business, we need to offboard them.

We can only support payments against exports with some exception of Industries like "precious gems" and cant support any "P2P payment" or "services rendered in India" use-cases.

As a licensed entity we are responsible for conducting the right checks and to only serve compliant exporter businesses and off-board others.

The working hours are only between 10…

The working hours are only between 10 to 7pm which makes it a big handicap fro anyone who wants to register before or after the office hours. Once all the documents are submitted, the page keeps rotating saying the documents are being verified. After customer support was called next day (they also work only between 10-7pm IST) it was told that since documents were uploaded after 7pm, they will process it only next day that too in second half. The potential customer is not given any notification in the page that keeps rotating that it would be processed next day. Without no one to reach out to after 7pm after submitting all your documents and before getting onboarded it is very uncomfortable and makes us question the safety. Other similar platforms have continuous support and notifications. I am not sure to save few bucks if this is the safe platform.

Best platform for collecting International Payments

I was looking to collect payments from one of my US Clients and I was confused about what platform to use, how much they would charge and that's the time when I got to know about Skydo from one of the people in my network.

My experience with Skydo has been…

My experience with Skydo has been frustrating. Payments are often delayed, and they block transactions without clear reasons. On top of that, they charge excessive fees and, in some cases, even refund the payment back to the sender without proper explanation. It’s unreliable and unprofessional. I strongly recommend using Wise or Payoneer instead – they’re far more efficient and trustworthy.

Smoooooth

Very smooth experience! Sneha was super helpful during onboarding, verification, and receiving my first payment. Probably the best method out there for receiving bank payments from the US—seamless invoicing, quick FIRC generation, and real-time exchange rates without any markup. Highly recommended!

Warning

*Warning: Beware of Skydo*

I'm sharing my horrific experience with Skydo, a payment processing company that has held my client's payment for almost 2 months.(29th Jan 2025)

The Issue
Skydo initially verified my account details and provided me with an account to receive payments from clients. After receiving payment from my client, Skydo suddenly closed my account without explanation.

The Runaround
Despite confirming receipt of the payment on their dashboard, Skydo claims they cannot refund the money to my client. They asked for my client's account details, which were provided, but then claimed they couldn't refund the money to that account either.

Unreasonable Demands
Now, Skydo is demanding an indemnity letter from my client, which is an unreasonable request. I've already delivered services to my client and informed them that I received the payment, as confirmed by Skydo's dashboard.

The Real Victim
But here's the thing: my client has already received the services they paid for. They're not bothered about the payment anymore. It's me, the service provider, who's suffering because I trusted Skydo.

Why Should My Client Bother?
Why should my client go through the hassle of providing indemnity letters or chasing Skydo for a refund? They've got what they paid for, and it's not their problem that Skydo is holding onto the payment.

A Warning to Others
As a 10-year-old Pvt Ltd company, I'm appalled by Skydo's unprofessional and scam-like behavior. I strongly advise others to stay away from this company and find more reliable payment processing solutions.
