i loved the first artist (gabrielle sey), but really wasnt blown away by the mc or people managing sound :( there was a very sad, fast effort to meet the faces around us and i booked this knowing it at least used to be a great way to meet people. i feel like not a lot of care was put into fostering connection beyond a quick one-minute break with a weird topic. that mixed with poor sound (two artists sounded blown out and really hurt my ears) made this less than stellar. we also had a last-minute venue change and i want to give some grace for that, but i really don’t know if i’ll be returning. one of the artists (bea) used an entire song to perform a cover of an old 80s song when i spent money to see local artists perform their music!! i was seeking things that are new to me and left cold, disconnected from others, and with a headache :(

I have gone to a bunch of Sofar shows and was a bit disappointed with this last one. The artists were talented but there were only 3 in this lineup compared to 4-5 that I thought was the usual amount. It seemed like there had been cancellations or they just couldn’t get enough people to play this night? The bar/ crowd also did not do them justice. There were very rowdy groups overpowering them who didn’t seem to be there for the show and it was difficult at times for the artists to hear or for my friend and I to hear them. I enjoyed one past show I went to where chairs had been set up in rows on a rooftop and it had much more attention to detail, ambiance, and organization. It also felt more intimate, which I thought was the point of these shows. I understand that is not always achievable depending on the venue but I do feel a bit disappointed overall. It felt like an overpriced open mic night for artists that deserved better.

jfc it was amazing. the talent, the intimacy, the immediacy… just say yes to seeing one of their shows.

SoFar Sounds takes advantage of its hosts. My venue worked for a few months with SoFar in my local city. They do not pay venues for their space. They cancelled our event the day before impacting our revenue and operations - which is fine with them, no skin off their back.

I bought a ticket for an event and unfortunately got sick that same day. I asked for a refund in a form of credit for a future show (something they did in the past), but they refused to do it. I love their events but seeing how they don't show up for their customer, I won't go back.
PS: I understand they have policies, but they can 100% make exceptions.
The team at Sofar Sounds Goa are an enthusiastic bunch that put shows together at the loveliest of venues, and create a wonderful atmosphere making you feel warm and welcomed!

A mic, a guitar, an artist (or three), and a (tiny) music-loving crowd. It's simple. It's beautiful. Thank you Sofar (Sydney).

Such a special concert experience in Dublin. Location was perfect & the artists were simply exceptional.
100% recommend and I loved how the organisers managed to strike the balance of acknowledging what is going on in the world right now without taking any sides while allowing the artist to express their personal opinions.

Really fun to travel to new venues to see up and coming artists that otherwise I might not run across. Appreciate the intimate nature of the shows and casual atmosphere. Great way to support art and community. Much love - Denzil

I really enjoyed the location that sofar picked, enjoyed very much of this 3 very different personality of artist's performing, the host was very nice and so does the wine and food

I would give ZERO stars!!! This company backed the
Tina Fey and Amy Pohler tour. I spent over $2000 on VIP seats, that included a "VIP Package" post show. I can only email this... 'company' and all responses are AI generated. Even after I sent proof of purchase, they are stating my information is not on file. TOTAL SCAM- DON'T FALL FOR IT!

This sofar thing is so BAD!!! We paid good hard earned money to attened the TOAD (Theory of a Deadman) at Coquitlam HardRock casino. We PAID EXTRA hard earned dollars to add VIP to our seats - because we love TOAD!!
Part of the VIP costs included getting a mini guitar handed to us by a Sofar VIP guy at a tiny table in venue.
We went directly to ur seat - opened up the bag it was in - and it was BROKEN! A broken neck and strings also all came off! Very very extremely disappointed. We went right away to find the Sofar guy so we could get this mistake fixed. WELL...he had vanished and no response to their sofar site on line. Finally I heard from someone and by that time I was so sad my husband tried to glue it back together as much as he could - still looked broken and strings never matched up right again.
We contacted Sofar and sent pictures and then NOTHING AT ALL HAPPENED! They just GHOSTED us! Too bad so sad - they have our money - so they did not care.
DO NOT EVER give this group any of your hard earned money - they will give you a shabby broken VIP gift and then not care when you tell them there is an issue! This is just another company that will ne OUT OF BUSINESS SOON - I am sure of it - read all the other reviews of anything they try to do - IT ALL SUCKS because THEY SUCK THE BIG ONE!!!
Go away Sofar and I sure hope 'artists' ban these types of groups from RIPPING OFF their poor broke fans who scrimp and save for a VIP experience only to find VIP means anything but IMPORTANAT!
Please FIRE Sofar from all music activities - let them go think they are too cool for school somewhere else - like the MOON! So incredibly rude and obnoxious!

I would give them no stars if I could. Show was cancelled and they transferred our tickets to a different date. As a working person, this doesn’t work. Give us our money back if you cancel a show. This company is a joke.
Went to see Fink in Brisbane a few weeks ago. He was great but the venue was embarrassingly bad. He had to stop twice to fix major audio issues so the first 2 songs were ruined with intermittent cracking sounds. Then he had to stop completely about 4 songs in due to massive feedback. I can't believe how unprofessional they were and had not set up and tested their rig. On top of that it was really hot and they choose to not use the large fan in the shed which is the only form of cooling available. Not going to waste my money go to any more Sofar concerts.
