Awful company
Awful company, treat their tenants in a rude patronising manner. Website for Sovereign talks about values, yet their property managers seem to think is ok to dictate to people and tell us how it is going to be. Property in poor state. Yet leaseholders/homeowners nervous about complaining too much as perception that if you complain Sovereign will make life difficult for you. Reviews on here, but also on Reed from previous employees do indicate a bullying management style.

Shocking disregard for their tenants
Absolutely shocking company they have no regard for their tenants. My mum is disabled and vulerable she's been a tenant for over 40 years. We have contacted them on many occasions regarding repairs to her house which are urgent and dangerous and no response or keep getting fobbed off. We've been trying for 2 months now. Awful they should be ashamed

Wouldn't Recommend, Be Aware
I have a young family and decided to buy a shared ownership with Sovereign but what isn't said is that even though you pay them rent on the other percentage they still own they just wipe their hands with you. Had a drain blockage and rang them and they wouldn't help at all, they wouldn't even point me in a direction to get help. The house is so badly built, it's only 2 years old and there are so many cracks in the walls, items aren't attached correctly as noticed when I went to turn my kitchen tap off and the whole thing just fell off and almost flooded my kitchen, I didn't even log it with them as I knew they wouldn't even help. The loft space had water spilling in and coming through to the bedroom and it was such a battle between Sovereign and the builder to come and get it fixed.
I would not recommend and I will never buy from them again.

Shower wasn't an emergency… after 3 days adapted bathroom
Was told my shower wasn't an emergency repair after 3 days of outage even though its my adapted bathroom with no bath or safe wash facilities.
Lady on the phone said there is no one at the address disabled I said I am and you came and fitted an adapted bathroom for me. Oh well its not an emergency she said even after being told it was by another person

Don't go with Sovereign Housing I have the neighbor from hell next door and since she moved in its been a living hell. They take the side of the perpetrators not the victim. Avoid as they don't do any checks on tenants history.

Terrible and still waiting to hear
Our fence blew down in February and as we back into a public underpass and main road we asked for somebody to come as soon as possible. They were due to arrive just as lockdown was happening (over a month later) and we had no contact from them, nobody turned up. My husband has an assistance dog and he has got out a couple of times, we’ve had people in the garden at night trying the door handles and Sovereigns reply is ‘at least you’ve had your issue raised, that’s more than a lot of people’. With the lovely weather we can’t let our children play out there and it’s getting silly. We had two visits to fix our front door and replaster a wall so it’s certainly not the virus that’s causing an issue.

Takes forever for them to list your shared ownership home for sale on their website, eventhough you do all the hard work for them. I sent them an RCIS valuation, EPC certificate, full description and all pictures. When I phoned to ask what was taking so long they said everything was ready but they would take 10 working days just because that's their policy. I have lost the house I was bidding on because of this. I begged them to help, in tears, and they had absolutely no empathy.

91% Bad reviews
91% Bad reviews! I am not surprised,Sovereign are a waste of time.
I found out by my neighbour showing me his tenancy agreement,he is paying less rent than me for the exact same property. Not only less per week,he also gets 4 free weeks on top, making my rent £630 per year more than him for the same bungalow type.
Sovereign don't want to know, they keep saying rents are like for like but they are not,not only that they are unwilling to correct the issue. Why can my neighbour enjoy a £630 holiday each year when I cant? Totally unfair especially when I know both rent were the same when I moved in.Now sovereign refuse to even talk about his rent saying mine is defenitely correct,so what about his I have paid approx £4400.00 more than him in 7 years so far, absolute atrocity

I thought Sovereign had a tenancy rule about number of pets
I thought Sovereign had a tenancy rule about the number of pets. My neighbour has at least 4 Huskys which are never taken for walks, god knows how many cats which use everyone's garden as a toilet and several rabbits. The smell can be horrendous and several times we have had to come in from the garden because of the smell. Another neighbour who is a tenant of Sovereign made a complaint when she had her tenancy review but nothing done
Despite replying to Jack's message from Sovereign, I have not had any contact from them after more than a month.

Left feeling like a second class citizen
Unfortunately we Don’t have the choice to offer minus stars.
Sovereign seem to treat people like a second class citizen or am I the only one who feels like this. I have had problem after problem with repairs, taking unpaid days off with nobody turning up or them doing a terrible job which requires more visits, more unpaid leave and more stress.
I did get visit from an official last year due to a dripping tap which touch over 8 months to repair properly. Only after going to the housing ombudsman. When the official visited he commented about an over grown treefrom a neighbours garden and said he will arrange for someone to sort it. He even explained that Sovereign would cuts the branches and take the waste away. I have waited patiently for someone to come and thought best to advice Sovereign recently that the branches are rubbing on my roof tiles.
SUDDENLY A DIFFERENT TUNE. I’ve been told they wont deal with this. And have refused to speak to the owner of the property as well. Sovereign seem to be the Landlord when it suits and then ignore you when they can’t be bothered. I feel they have given me anxiety and left me questioning if I’m a second class citizen who should be grateful to have a roof over my head, who should just shut up and put up.
Wish I was with a a housing association that cared.

Coronavirus and Spectrum Housing
Considering the pandemic we are in with the Coronavirus and certain Government guidelines and instructions we have to abide by, please, please read this.
If I could leave no stars I would.
I am being threatened by a Gas Administrator on the Isle Of Wight who has written me a letter stating that if I do no allow tradesmen access to my property for a 'general gas safety inspection' (NOT EMERGENCY) which will take about an hour and they will have to gain access to every room, that they will consider turning my gas supply off and begin legal action against me.
The letter states that if they do not gain access to this property for the second time?!! that they will follow the above process.
I have been bombarded with letters and appointments regarding the above appointment. I HAVE NEVER REFUSED THEM ACCESS! I have repeatedly cancelled the appointments because I am ill, I am listed by the NHS as being vulnerable due to my age and condition. According to the government guidelines I am self isolation for 12 weeks. TRY TELLING THIS TO SOVEREIGN HOUSING!
The letter this nasty Gas Administrator sent me came on Saturday 11th April 2020 stating the tradesmen would be coming to this property on Tuesday 14th April 2020! Easter Monday they will be closed, so the earliest I can contact them other than email will be Tuesday the 14th April 2020, the day they intend coming here.
One of the last times I had to cancel their appointment explaining all the above I received a text message stating my new appointment would be for the 8th June 2020, which 'should' be okay. so why on earth have I received this arrogant, nasty, rude and incompetent letter please from someone who clearly thinks they are above Government guidelines?
I HAVE NEVER, EVER REFUSED THIS COMPANY ACCESS. I have only ever cancelled an appointment.
Their attitude throughout this has greatly exhausted and affected me, hindering my wellbeing. Should my next step be contacting the police? I am certainly contacting a law solicitor.
I am beyond disgusted with Sovereign Housing. PLEASE AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

One star is one too many
One star is one too many, I went to the top, Mark Washer, with my problem with cracking walls ( been trying to get them fixed for over 10 years!!!) got people round who didn’t do what they were meant to, do a terrible job, had to get them back ( both the painters and they guy to redo the job he didn’t do properly in the first place) again for the second time they didn’t do the job properly and cocked it right up. They damaged my personal belongings, plaster in brand new washing machine, paint on floors, the list goes on and on. Wasted 4 day’s of my holiday from work etc There incompetence is unbelievable. I am now considering legal action as they seem incapable of dealing with anything at all, and this is when you go to the very top!!!
