Great service while it lasted, disappointing handling of maintenance
I was a customer for about a month and until recently the service was excellent: low latency, solid DDoS protection, good stability. The problems started with a recent network migration. After the maintenance, connectivity toward my country got noticeably worse — higher latency and reduced throughput — and the firewall section in the panel had completely changed, with my previous configuration gone.
I spent a lot of time trying to fix it, and even with help from people who know their way around networking and system administration, there was no way to get things back to how they worked before. The setup that ran perfectly prior to the migration simply couldn't be restored.
What disappointed me most wasn't the disruption itself — maintenance happens — but how support handled it: instead of thoroughly investigating the routing after their own migration, the issue was quickly blamed on my ISP, even though the exact same setup worked flawlessly before their changes.
I do recognize the strengths of the service (network, protection, price), but after this experience I chose to move elsewhere. A shame, because the potential was there.
Terrible hosting
Becoming very shady
Past few months, Tempest has gone down the drain, I used ot pay 100s of pounds a month, only to not be able to connect to my pc every week or so. Terrible service, when they get backlash they lock down the discord so nobody can type, stop responding to tickets. Horrible company for if you want to host something serious. Very messy, I don't see it lasting much longer under new management.
Server dead within a day, host blames its upstream, refund request ignored
I set up a dedicated server (Frankfurt) and it didn't even survive its first day. Barely a day after setup the whole machine went offline — SSH and every service stopped responding, with connections timing out rather than being refused. The box simply dropped off the network.
There was no way to recover it. The control panel still listed the server as "powered on, no errors," yet the power controls were greyed out and the IPMI/KVM console wouldn't open, so I couldn't even reboot it or reach it. Their public status page stayed green the entire time.
When support did eventually reply, the answer was essentially: "We are currently aware of issues in some locations on certain IP ranges which we believe to be a current issue with Path Networks. We're awaiting confirmation from them..." In other words: no ETA, no fix, and the host pointing at its own upstream network. When a provider's answer to a dead server is "our upstream is having problems," that is not reassuring for anything you actually depend on.
The refund has been the worst part. Their built-in "cancel" only offers internal account credit, not your money back, and so far I've had no response from billing at all on an actual refund — they'll answer about the outage, but go quiet the moment the subject is money. At this rate, getting it back looks like it will mean a PayPal dispute.
The DDoS protection may well be excellent, but that counts for nothing if the server dies on day one, can't be rebooted or reached, and clawing your money back means chasing billing or your payment provider. I can't recommend running production here.
How Tempest Hosting went from greatness to killing my business.
I was customer for roughly three or four years.
Tempest Hosting initially was amazing for my business and rust server.
One of main advertised features by tempest was anycast network, DDoS protection and stability.
Today two of these are no longer a thing.
My rust server was located in the Dallas, during last 6 months my community went from 300 players to barely 10.
What was customer service response of tempest? Telling me that everything is alright on their backend and that any issues are on my side.
I have verified with network engineer friend of mine, that it was not my fault at all.
Tempest Hosting itself later recognized that it was routing issues within dallas, their fault.
Only when multiple people reported that their players couldn't see servers in the server browser on dallas, did they fix it. Roughly 3 months worth of me being guilt-tripped into thinking it was my fault.
As of today, anycast is still not usable in dallas location of tempest, players sometimes can't join the servers at all.
If you are current customer of tempest and find it good, then ignore my review, tempest has many great features and it was overall amazing. But i have a word of advice though, never think of hosting company as friend.
I received zero compensation, zero benefit when being switched from NY to Dallas as NY was retired. And four months of dallas routing issues later, my rust server is almost dead while i should've done smart thing and ditched the hosting and gotten new one.
I can provide confidental details to trustpilot staff if needed to verify my review is factual, including timestamps.

Did a pre-order with the previous administration waited for over 2 years, and now they won't even give me account credit to use on their site, awful.
My Journey with Tempest Hosting, LLC:
Why I Chose Tempest Hosting
I’ve always been fascinated by technology and the idea of having complete control over my digital environment. When it came time to find a hosting solution that allowed for real flexibility, I came across Tempest Hosting, LLC. What drew me in was the promise of having my very own server—something that gives you complete freedom to configure, customize, and optimize according to your specific needs. I knew it wouldn’t be a simple “set it and forget it” solution, but I was ready for the challenge.
Getting Started: The First Impressions
The initial setup process was relatively straightforward, but it immediately became clear that Tempest Hosting expects you to take an active role in managing your server. There’s no heavy hand-holding, which is a blessing and a challenge at the same time. If you’re used to traditional shared hosting where everything is done for you, this might feel intimidating at first. But for me, it was exciting. Finally, I had an environment where I could learn, experiment, and fully control how things were set up.
The Learning Curve: A Test of Patience and Research
One of the biggest lessons during my experience was patience. The customer service team was professional and courteous, but they weren’t always proactive in guiding me through complex setups or troubleshooting minor issues. I quickly realized that I had to do some research on my own. Forums, tutorials, and trial-and-error became my best friends. While some might see this as a drawback, I actually came to appreciate it. Every challenge I faced forced me to understand my server better, and by the time I resolved the issues, I felt a sense of ownership and confidence that you simply don’t get with fully-managed services.
Performance and Reliability: The Heart of the Experience
Once I had everything configured, the real strength of Tempest Hosting became apparent. The servers are incredibly reliable, with minimal downtime and consistent performance even under heavier loads. Tasks that I worried might slow things down ran smoothly, and the control over my server meant I could optimize things in a way that best suited my needs. Knowing that I could rely on the infrastructure gave me peace of mind and allowed me to focus on my projects without unnecessary stress.
Customer Service: Room for Improvement, But Manageable
While I had a mostly positive experience, it’s worth noting that customer service could be more proactive. There were moments when I wished the support team would offer more guidance or anticipate potential issues before they arose. That said, every question I asked was eventually addressed, and the team was always professional. In a way, this experience reinforced the idea that having your own server requires initiative. If you’re willing to invest some time and effort into learning the ropes, this is a manageable and ultimately rewarding process.
The Benefits of Full Control
What I value most about Tempest Hosting is the empowerment it provides. Unlike shared hosting environments where restrictions limit what you can do, having your own server gives you complete flexibility. You can install software, configure settings, and run projects exactly the way you want. This freedom comes with responsibility, but it also opens up opportunities to truly optimize and experiment. For anyone who enjoys hands-on management and learning along the way, this is an incredible advantage.
Conclusion: Is Tempest Hosting Worth It?
Looking back on my journey, I can say with confidence that Tempest Hosting, LLC has been a positive experience. Yes, there’s a learning curve, and yes, you’ll need to do some independent research at times. But the rewards are well worth it. From reliability and performance to flexibility and empowerment, this hosting service delivers on its promises. My initial curiosity and slight uncertainty transformed into satisfaction and confidence. For anyone willing to take the time to learn and engage with their own server, Tempest Hosting is an excellent choice that I would wholeheartedly recommend.
Final Thoughts: A Personal Takeaway
Using Tempest Hosting taught me more than just server management—it reminded me that taking initiative and learning through experience can be incredibly rewarding. Everything didn’t always come easy, but the knowledge and control I gained were invaluable. If you’re looking for a hosting provider that gives you freedom, reliability, and a real sense of ownership, Tempest Hosting, LLC is a provider that truly delivers.

Very good service
Very good service, the best DDoS protection we ever had. I guarantee and recommend their services.
Incredible Reponse Time
Actually one of the fastest support i've ever experienced from a hosting company.
10/10, support was very helpful and straight to the point!
Frequent downtimes
Frequent downtimes
My machine at Phoenix was down for ~2 months, they offered transfer to new location, now New York is down for almost a week.
If you intend to use tempest I personally recommend having always a backup service, tempest is pretty great when its working but when its down its usually down for long time, so always have backup ready in case you don't want to lose money like i did hoping they'd resolve issue quickly.
Most of users don't even get compensation for downtime and still need to pay same amount for machine once next month's pay is due despite it being down for over week
tempest the best
used tempest for about 2 maybe a little more years now and even got a good pal of mine to join me and use tempest, we currently own a NewYork Machine and a London Machine, and even though with the current situations there having and have had with some locations or other issues, to me tempest is still the greatest hosting on the market! every hosting has issues and downtime, not every hosting is perfect. but honestly i could never imagine using any other hosting, tempest is 100% the best to me.
