Shire Bakery my GO TO bakery supplier
Shire Bakery are my all time 'go-to' for bakery suppliers. Their range of sprinkles is vast, with Gluten free choices etc. Always get delivered promptly and love ordering! Plus they have all sorts of moulds/nozzles, everything a baker could want!

Beautiful sprinkles but exorbitant postage costs
The sprinkles are beautiful but I do object to having such a high postage cost. It makes the sprinkles almost prohibitive to buy.

We are very sorry that you feel the postage costs are too high. Please note we do not make money on our postage costs, we absorb some of them into the business. We send door to door tracked. Previously we did have an economy option however this was untracked, and in some instances took upwards of 3 weeks for item to arrive, which our customers were unhappy about. The way we send our packages now ensures that you can see where your item is at every stage of its journey.
We hope you understand, and we hope this does not stop you from purchasing again in the future.

Gluten Free Sprinkles
After needing to go gluten free and developing a nut allergy I found trying to find sprinkles for my home made bakes really challenging. That was until I found The Shire Bakery. Their website makes it so easy to find the sprinkles that are safe for me and then the joy at discovering just how many options I had. So I ordered a selection and they have been toping my bakes ever since. The delivery was quick and the communication between The Shire Bakery and myself was so easy, they sent me everything I needed to know. If I had any questions they are always more than happy to respond and with clear answers. And last but in no way least their sprinkles taste amazing!!! I 100% recommend this company for anyone with dietary requirements to find sprinkles suitable for them.

Honestly I placed this order and paid…
Honestly I placed this order and paid more than the price of the item just for shipping the tiny package. That’s fine , postal rates are crazy, but they didn’t even pay the import fees which came as a hidden cost. In the end I paid over 18 euros for shipping and import fees for a packet of sprinkles. They refused to reimburse shipping if I refused the package. I found the lack of import fee disclosure at the time of purchase misleading. If I’d ordered on Amazon I wouldn’t pay any hidden fees. And their response to me was less than customer service friendly. I won’t buy again or recommend them.

Firstly, thank you for your review.
Our overseas postage costs are in no way inflated, we make no money on any of our postage and packaging costs.
With regards to import fees, we cannot cover these costs, as they are applied at the point of entering the destination country; and we state this clearly in our delivery terms and conditions, which we advise anyone, especially our overseas customers to check before purchase. The majority of UK companies have the same policy in place post Brexit.
We do also sell on Amazon, and I can assure you if you purchased from us via Amazon you would also be charged import fees if they are applicable. If our products were stocked at Amazon warehouses, which they are not, this would be a different matter. However we are not Amazon, we are a small, family run business, and do not have the TAX status' in the various parts of the world that the supergiant that is Amazon has.
I am looking at the emails sent between us and cannot see how we have been less than polite, however if you disagree, I sincerely apologise. We cannot refund your postage costs, for the simple reason that the postage has already been paid at our end.
