WE ARE A SMALL 3 MAN IRONWORKS MANUFACTURING QUALITY BRITISH STOVES. We have picked up some poor review latley as out order book whent from 25 to 475 in 1 week. We are getting stoves out as fast as humanly possible :-) We do not have office staff. We make quality products at affordable prices but do not have manned phonelines or a receptionist. During the COVID crisis we kindly ask customers to deal with us by email allowing us to carry on manufacturing and answer emails after hours. Please do not confuse us with a huge manufacturing organisation. We are not that and don't wish to be

Ordered in March

Ordered in March, received today, no communication until I begged for a refund by email, as soon as I asked for refund it was despatched, 3 months after ordering. As for the quality of the product, I am shocked at how bad it is, being an engineer myself, I thought I’d pay good money for something, knowing it wasn’t some Chinese cheap rubbish, well I can safely say with the cost, length of time for delivery and quality of product it is the worst thing I have ever purchased. The latch on the glass door is so bad, a basic nut and bolt, doesn’t even line up !! I’ve used the mechanism to open and close the door about 4-5 times and it’s starting to shred the bolt head where it’s dragging against the side of the stove. Looks like it’s gonna last 5 minutes, unbelievably disappointed with it. This is also the first negative review I’ve ever left but I couldn’t just leave it. Also just to be aware, you get offered a free care kit worth £30 for a 5 star review so that is why the reviews are so skewed !! It’s a farce of a company I really would love to return it and get my money back but I have a feeling I have zero chance of that being possible. Avoid !! If I can save someone £800 in writing this review I’ll be happy.
UPDATE : I have now been asking for a refund for 27 days, I have received a couple of responses saying he will send a courier to collect it, it’s wrapped up in my garage ready for collection so I can get my damn refund and he just does not respond to emails ! Absolute incompetent mess of a business, worst I’ve dealt with by a mile. I’m worried that if the courier does come, he’ll never refund me anyway as that seems like the kind of thing that he would do. The thought of emailing him everyday until this gets resolved is painful.

Terrible

Terrible. Zero customer service. I haven’t worked out if these guys are fraudulent or incompetent yet but if you thinking of buying what looks on the face of it like a decent product look at all the recent reviews and beware. If they communicated I might understand but all I’ve seen is that they take your money and you hear nothing. They don’t respond to email and the product doesn’t arrive. Fraud …..maybe be careful

A seamless process

A seamless process. Website is highly informative. They clearly acknowledge that delivery process is longer than they would wish for, given challenges due to Covid, but we are looking forward for delivery and use of a good looking and highly functional product

Stove order - try being nice !!

I ordered my stove, and it’s due to arrive in the next month, to date no issues been kept informed, and really looking forward to it arriving and making good use of it in the months and years ahead. I’ve read other reviews and there are some folks writing negative reviews about delivery times, which while it’s frustrating to have to wait longer, in the current climate and financial markets not having a stove is that really all you have to worry about !! Support local British companies and give them a break, like many small businesses some are struggling a bit with demand, try being nice it helps !!

The Garden stove is well made product…

The Garden stove is a well made product and I had a glass door and wheels fitted which is ideal for the patio. When ‘fired up’ it certainly throws out the heat. They are a victim of their own success and during COVID every one wanted a garden heater during restrictions! As a result there are delays with over running delivery dates and communication can be a little slow. They do come up with the goods and is worth the wait!

Poor customer service, stove needed repairs upon delivery.

Very unhelpful customer service, I was asked to leave a positive 5* review to get a free gift in exchange. However after receiving my burner 2 months late with numerous ignored phone calls and emails it arrived unfinished.
I bought the extended chimney but smoke still comes out form other areas that it shouldn’t, it’s began to rust already even though it’s been under cover and sits off the floor due to the extra added wheels.
The stove was around £900, I tried to get this resolved but the owner John wasn’t interested.
I then contacted PayPal for assistance as I was getting totally ignored by Vesta/John.
PayPal tried to contact John for 10 days which went unanswered, I was then awarded a partial refund from PayPal. That same day John popped up after months ignoring me asking me to send him £700 or he will be sending debt collectors to my door even though the partial refund was nowhere near £700 but he wanted more from me. I explained my situation to him and that PayPal agreed in my favour. He still continued to threaten me debt collectors instead of addressing the initial issue which was poor customer service, poor workmanship and lack of ownership. Frustratingly some of the products look amazing that’s why I spent my money with them especially supporting UK business during these bad times. Instead it’s left a sour taste in my mouth and it appears we now have a problem on our hands between myself and John.

I’d definitely do some more research before spending any money with Vesta as if it doesn’t go in your favour you’ll be threatened to have the stove taken away or hand back the money back for the faulty product and stay quiet basically.

This issue could of been resolved but unfortunately due to lack of customer service training it’s now beyond that.

The stove I choose I upgraded it to have 2 doors fitted, wheels fitted and a 2m chimney.

Smoke comes from the doors and there isn’t a good seal form the chimney, it’s also rusting around the deck plate.

This company has good potential but they’ve got a long way to come with over all quality of workmanship and customer service.

I’m rating this a 2 as a 1 is to harsh the main factor of my rating is the customer service side of things as the log burners do have very good potential and should outlast the owner in terms of life span once they stop rushing them out and take a little extra care before posting them out which also comes a cost of £55 for delivery.

STOVE HAS NEVER ARRIVED

Hi

I have not had my stove. I was told that it was in manufacture in mid May. I have tried to e-mail to find out where my stove is but no-one replies. It is not possible to get through on the phone it just asks you to e-mail. The only e-mail they have sent me is to write a review, I would love to do this but I have not received my stove. I paid of £900 months ago and I am at a loss of where to go next.

So far so good

So far so good. Ordered stove in April for delivery in July, communication good so far. With regard to the negative reviews, I think people need to understand that in the current climate things take longer due to staff shortages, difficulties in sourcing raw materials, etc. I'm proud to support British small businesses so let's stop the negatively and support our businesses

Still no delivery or response to emails!

Unfortunately we are having the same experience as other customers.

We paid in full for our stove on the 12th of April and delivery was promised on the 16th of June. We asked to delay this by one week but the stove was not delivered on the new date.

The stove has still not arrived and emails are not being responded to. The phone lines are also not working. I would strongly recommend people avoid using this company as they are clearly unable to cope with their current orders and customer service is very poor.

I wanted to support British…

I wanted to support British manufacturing and now regret it. I understand difficult times but no response is not acceptable. Ordered 2 April and paid in full £949.15, told in "manufacture" 20 May. Since then nothing despite emails and attempted phone calls. Please respond, I just want comfort that it is on its way.

Good product, crap customer service

Hi John. When I ordered my stove last year, you delivered on the date promised so great service. However I ordered a chimney, wheels and cover back on the 6th June. I paid immediately through PayPal using the link that you sent. I have sent 3 emails now and everyone has been ignored. Please let me know when I will receive these goods

Finally my stove has arrived .

Finally my stove has arrived .
Several of my friends ordered stoves last year right at the beginning of the pandemic and they were made and delivered without any issues and all of those friends remain thrilled with the their outdoor stoves .
I ordered my stove Easter weekend (5th April) and after lots of backwards and forwards with emails , 6 previously promised delivery dates that came and went , including a delivery that was not what I had ordered and a separate incident whereby I had the tracking number from someone else’s stove …… I have finally received my stove -24 th June!
We haven’t used it yet and so can’t comment on that , but everything looks to be in order and we are relieved to finally have it .
Vesta stoves have clearly been inundated with orders which can not be fulfilled in the time specified. They are overwhelmed with orders ,and rightly so because the fires are stunning .
John ….. you have an Amazing product at a extremely reasonable price , no one matches you . Your customers WILL wait for as long as you are honest about when you can deliver .
Many of my friends have your fires and so I knew that I wouldn’t be disappointed . If when I originally ordered you’d told me 12 weeks , 16, 20 weeks to delivery, I would still have ordered because your fires are worth the wait .
But panic sets in when people spend hard earned money and they can’t get a reply from you or they get conflicting information time after time .
May I politely suggest that you invest in some admin help to go through your emails and sit down with you and work out a realistic plan on when you can deliver .
Perhaps Pause orders until you’ve worked out a schedule that is realistic.
The stove itself is worth 5 stars
The price is worth 5 stars
Unfortunately the experience has been stressful hence the 3 stars awarded .
I might add john also gave me a NHS discount on order which was very much appreciated.

I placed an order for an outside stove…

I placed an order for an outside stove in April this year and paid over £1000, I received notification that it was going into production on the 20th May and since then I have not heard anything! I have tried to phone numerous times, but only get an automated message stating due to high demand they can not answer the phone and to send an email, which I have done a number of times and not once, received an response, I find this very disappointing and worrying that I have parted with my money and now I can not establish any form of contact with the company, I appreciate the present climate is difficult and items are in demand, but customer care and communication should still be important to maintain good will and reassurance. I hope that once my stove eventually arrives it is worth the anguish.

One week later-no refund, no reply

One week later, still no response to my refund request after waiting months with either none or poor communication. This has now been passed to my credit card company for resolution. That’s even more disappointing than the original delay. I would not trust my money with this business at the moment .
