Banfield only cares about money

We have been shown time after time that Banfield does not care about their patients, only that they are paid.

This last instance has made me the most upset. Our kitten, Saga got spayed October 8th and we found out November 2nd that she had opened her stitches. I understand that it is our responsibility that she had opened her wound. However, we were told on November 3rd that she was going to need to be restitched that it could cost upwards of $2,000. We raised the funds of $1,100 that was needed to get her stitches done again. Three days after this on November 6th, her stitches had come undone again after following the care plan Banfield gave us. I brought our invoice to Banfield to ask a few clarifying questions about the $1,100 that we had previously paid because that seemed fairly high just to get some stitches done. I called 7 other veterinarian hospitals in the area and they all told me a good estimate to get restitched in her condition was at the highest $600 give or take the severity. I brought this up to the technician and I was told “it’s cheap for a reason”. I then informed them that her stitches had come undone again and I was told to bring her back the following day (November 8th) to get MORE stitches or possibly staples. My follow up question was what do we do if we can not afford more stitches (the $1,100 charge took all we had), I was told to get a loan. I asked what to do if we got denied for the loan (which we had), they shrugged their shoulders and told me to try again. There was no other treatment plan offered to me other than stitches or staples. I am under the assumption that my cat would not get her wound fixed if I couldn’t come up with the outrageous price they would charge me for the second round of stitches because I was given no other options. I found a different veterinarian hospital and they gave me FOUR different treatment plans all with pricing up front.

After paying my monthly wellness plan, paying for any extra medicine, and paying the $1,100 to restitch my cat, that did not even last 3 days, I was told on November 8th that in order to cancel my wellness plan I owed $1,170. After sending a complaint email, a staff member called me on November 9th to inform me that it was only $357.75 to cancel Saga’s wellness plan. They could not give me the actual number to cancel all 3 plans I had with them. They also did not address any concerns I raised other than the money I owed them, proving to me once again that they only cared about the money.

Banfield is taking advantage of people who trusted them with their pets. They do not give straight answers, do not offer sound advice, and price gouge everything. I do not recommend Banfield by any means.
